I know it's the hot shit right now, but we don't need every other thread being about fucking corona-chan. Therefore I decided to make a cycle so you can discuss the ongoing effects of corona-chan and how it's effecting the video games industry. It'll probably die down in a week or two, but when it does I'm going to uncycle the thread, mainly because it'll just be dragging on after that.

In short this thread is for discussing the corona virus and minor instances like NoA getting corona and the feds celebrating it, rather than major instances like E3 being cancelled which deserve their own thread.

Best wishes and stay safe,

Mark

Your first point is bullshit. The urge they get is for whatever is not provided for them by masturbation that is provided by sex with another person. I, too, am sure that normal people in fact are not at all constrained by media or their peers when in a situation of complete privacy. There are such things as guilty pleasures after all.

It wasn't called the goonspiracy for shits and giggles.

There is fuckloads more, like goons from LF getting mod positions at DemocraticUnderground and starting shit with /pol/ (back in 2012! that's when massive botspam occured and black dick posting started) around the same timeframe goons got their teeth into reddit through SRS/the r/creepshots scandal.

Tons of goons are also journalists too, many journolisters for example (cf. Ezra Klein and his goondolences for VileRat).

Fun fact: Sarah Yeong, the racist Azn chick the NYT hired? She's a goonette.

Masturbate or don't, with or without porn. The problem isn't inherently masturbation or porn (though 3DPD porn of any kind is disgusting to me), the problem is excess. You can go full abstinence, the worst that happens is you get nocturnal emissions. You can also masturbate now and then. "Nofap" is a thing because there are a number of men who realized doing it more than once a day without restraint may be a problem. Nothing in the media is really telling men to do it less, they're just a convenient punching bag, e.g.

>Look at these losers who can't get laid like a ``real`` man.

In truth, there's no problem with going with or without. More than once a day is probably a bad idea, though, at least if you do so regularly.

Given how the british police ACT and how they're actual complete idiots who can't actually enforce ANY CRIME whatsoever aside from bike wheel confiscations and citations to farm fine money for the government, and are literal fucking meter maids, who ACTUALLY accept how the man treats them, they're deserving of that treatment. American police murder motherfuckers like crazy and they're still way better then the glorified taxation asshole bureaucrats with door kicker privledges of Britain.

You can literally shit on their doorstep and they can't do a cunting fucking thing. All they do is fine people, can't carry guns and they let stabbings happen all the time.

The british cops are the worst first world police force in the world, and the 3rd world doesn't even have police, just fucking military bullshit.

God you seriously tried to defend the british police. Are you required to do so by law? Do you have a quota now? Do you have to asslick the cops there every few hours?

What if I don't masturbate at all? I have never once reached climax through masturbation. I only know what ejaculation feels like from vague memories following wet dreams once a month or so, increasingly less often each year. I stopped any attempts at masturbation in my mid teens. What does my lack of jacking implicate about my consumption of fictional porn? Armchair psychology me.

Like the federal system being a point of failure that allowed the copyright industry to spiral into power disconnected from 90~98% of the nation.

Or not learning a genuine fucking lesson from the civil war and the exploitation of vulnerable populations in states for illicit means of political manipulation, and being in a broken two party system for a century and a half.

I didn't know that's what you meant by values. They're just flaws, but not inherent in the system and could be fixed. Copyright isn't at least. The early Americans took pride in not paying royalties for the King James bible, for instance and the duration for copyright was very short.

No, literally the gross bloated increase of power held by the copyright is specifically because our "professional" media is mostly unconnected from state level governance and enjoy a sort of fast pass to the fed.

Don't get me wrong, copyright isn't entirely a bad idea but as it is now, it's grossly overindulgent in what rights are afforded to rightsholders, and that's not even getting into the philosophical implications of why it's retarded that a copyright can be transferred full stop.

England is a small country is going into the middle of nowhere is a common thing, and you might very well come into contact with the virus without even knowing it.

It might also spread to wildlife, which is GREATLY endangered there.

He's not wrong though. Right now every govt in the world is choosing between killing off double digits percentages of their population in the short (yearly) term by direct and indirect causes or giving up on their economic prosperity to keep the state from collapsing. If you want examples as to why either scenarios are completely dumb, Sweden and Italy are the two worst offenders. China is doing both at the same time but true numbers will never be shown.

Don't forget that the W.H.O. is one the U.N.'s special programs, and Trump has already expressed a great displeasure with them (With the U.S. covering 22% of the U.N.'s budget): http://archive.vn/yLp5m

And, it came out late last year that the U.N. is so broke that they literally cannot pay to even keep the lights on: http://archive.vn/sDVOP

If anything, I see this as Trump signaling that the U.S. will be dropping out of the U.N. sometime in the very near future.

I've done some actual research on the topic and basically you're full of shit.

The long version of it is that it's highly unlikely that humans are anything but "collateral hosts" and as such the parasite is perfectly content with just surviving inside us, being mostly unable to condition our behaviors directly.

Cats ARE inferior, but for more reasons than just their parasites.

I don't expect people here to be much absorbent to raw knowledge but since you asked:

There's a great distinction between sexually transmitted parasites and any other kind of parasite.

The latter have to rely on being ingested and subsequently expelled, causing often buts of diarrhea or puke: two great vectors for infection.

Parasites who are transmitted sexually are the only ones known to change your behavior (in humans) since their best hope of spreading is social interaction, leading to sex or kissing.

Since toxoplasmosis is a parasite trasmitted to cats through eating, and since it's engineered to dumb down mice for them to be eaten, it's fair to assume the goal of the virus is to land on the cat, changing the mice to be easier to eat. But as humans, we're only collateral hosts, we catch it cause people are filthy and like to be kissed by their animals seriously tho why the fuck would you let your pets lick you. I'm talking to you americans and as such, given cats that are the final host are barely affected by the virus, it's fair to assume any effect on humans is purely accidental.

There is however a correlation in toxoplasmosis and the abortion of male fetuses, so keep that in mind. Owning a cat will likely kill your firstborn unless it's a girl.

>But how the virus spreads over the next five years depends mostly on how long a recovered person's immunity lasts. If an individual becomes vulnerable to re-infection just one year after recovering from illness, it will take much longer to build herd immunity and end the virus' spread.

That's the funny thing, if you don't do anything and let the virus infect everyone then you'll indeed get millions of deaths, people complaining about why was nothing done to prevent it, but if you do a good job containing it then it'll seem like it wasn't a big deal at all and everyone will complain that the economy died for nothing.

Deaths are way worse long term than missing work days, for the economy, at the same time most of those that die weren't going to be a long term factor most deaths are from really old people and/or people with preexisting conditions, but that's really hard to model, so it's a tough call to make.

This can lead to false conclusions in several different ways. It is a form of selection bias.

People will look at an outbreak not being that bad, lax regulations around outbreaks which leads the next one to be much worse. That's pretty much what happened here, for decades after the Spanish Flu we had systems in place to stop things from getting this bad but they were continuously dismantled because they "weren't doing anything."

That's related to but not exactly the same thing he was talking about I think. I'm not sure what you call it.

>People will look at an outbreak not being that bad, lax regulations around outbreaks which leads the next one to be much worse.

Well there's also the issue that disease outbreaks vary considerably from one kind to another. MERS kills around a third of those infected but its transmission rate is so low that that it's not likely to ever cause a full on pandemic. Ebola is terrifyingly contagious and lethal but it kills so quickly that it chokes itself. At the other side of things are diseases like the common cold that effectively causes a worldwide ongoing pandemic since time immemorial but kills so few people that no one worries about it.

A disease kind of has to hit the "sweet spot" to cause a problem like what we're having right now, especially considering that modern medical care exists. The thing about Corona/SARS2 is it's long incubation time and the fact that asymptomatic individuals can still pass it to others.

If you reacted to every new disease in the same that this one needed to be reacted to then we probably wouldn't have a functioning economy or society.

That back and forth is also a big problem, you either have to lock everything for a while and have strict controls or you let it go wild and deal with the consequences, i don't know enough to determine which is the better option, but i know that doing both but not really will only bring the worst of both. You really don't need that many people ignoring the lock-down to make it worthless, but just going "fuck it, everyone back to work" won't work anymore either.

The proposed phasing option doesn't seem like a bad idea for this very reason. There's a point where the added health risk by relaxing quarantine protocols no longer outweighs the economic impact of keeping basically everything shut down.

Pic related is a simple interpretation of New York's curve at this point in time. Yellow is confirmed cases. The ungraphed part of the curve is my prediction for where the state will be going case-wise. Regardless of things being reopened or not, I don't see the virus going away as fast as it rose. And I'm presuming once cases start to go down, things will slowly reopen, slowing the decline a bit. So realistically, should be at least somewhat controlled around early June or thereabouts.

I don't know the specifics, but the thing is that the vast majority of the population 99% anywhere country you look still hasn't gotten the virus, meaning they're still in danger, that and the fact that the quarantine will become ineffective even if very few people ignore it means opening up again soon would just invalidate any control the lock down could've brought at which point we should just go with our lives at normal except with a huge increase in the general death rate.

Everything i know tells me this is an all or nothing situation, but i'm not an expert mind you, so i could be wrong.

No, the question is whether or not more people will die from the virus, or die from the economic collapse. I know my own probability is much higher in the latter category. As a mostly healthy 30-something there's less than 1% chance of the virus killing me, probably less than .1%. I'm not saying it's extremely likely, but I think there's definitely a greater than 1% chance of me dying due to economic impact. Starvation, homelessness, maybe even depression, they are all bigger risk factors than corona itself.

The demographic dying from the virus, to be frank, aren't playing as major a role in the economy as those most affected by the lockdown. And the strain on the hospital system is largely due to the AMA state licensure cartel, CON, scope of practice, and other regulations designed to restrict the supply of medical services, some of which are being lifted.

On the other hand, the economic collapse is already happening. People's savings are already depleted. Supply chains are broken down and a lot of businesses are not capable of lasting long enough to receive financial assistance. Unemployment is probably going to go hyper-Depression in the coming months, and the recovery is not going to happen in "a few months", especially if the lockdown continues to prevent the structure of production from adjusting.

Absolute majority go through it without any symptoms. It doesn't make them any difference. Majority of those who feel the symptoms are old and ill, those who are at risk of catching a multiltude of other diseases. And still we're seeing a lot of recoveries even among elderly people.

> that leaves us with around 3 million deaths in a few months

That sounds like a gross exaggeration considering what's going on, I don't think that half-assed 'quarantine' does much to contain the spread. It's just that the virus is contagious, but majority of the infected don't give a shit. Also, it's obvious that the governments are going to try to convince you their actions have merit and effect.

>you really don't think that'd have economic consequences?

Retirement homes could go out of business, I guess.

>My point is that i don't think we have enough data to say which is worse for certain

And that's bad, considering the eggheads were doing plenty of simulations of epidemics where they could go wild with death and infection rates and see what happens when you tell everyone to stay locked up and close everything that isn't retail and tech.

So? healthcare where i live was on the verge of collapse and only with a fraction of a percent of the populationof the country infected, you don't need nowhere near as everybody dying or in ICU for this to be a problem.

From what i know it's become the biggest cause of death in many countries, the US being one of them, you can't tell me that that is nothing to worry about.

Guess those eggheads should try to read the future on crystal balls or something…

Simulations are the best we have, the thing is that we're trying to simulate a very chaotic system meaning a small change in the beginning can have major consequences down the line, as time passes the models and simulations can be updated.

And don't forget that it's usually better to overreact than under-react.

All of sudden, bunch of (hundreds of people per day) people previously fully recovered from Corona infection, gets positive again while they quarantined themselves. Some of doctors and scientists talking about probability that you can never get 'Cured' from COVID-19, but the virus will remain in your nervesystem and body for rest of your life just like chicken pox, hiding inside your body once you get infected, and gets active whenever your immune system gets weak. Don't fucking tell me, I ain't no doctor but it is quite true that you can never be immune against this virus, not even when you fully recovered.

It means so-called vaccines in the future will be nothing but small doze of COVID-19 just like pox vaccines. Don't ask me anon, I don't know shit about viruses, I don't know shit. Recovery means the symptoms stopped and test kit shows negative. But from what I know, human can be virtually immune for other viruses like poxes once you infected and recovered, they just will be subsist in your body rest of your life. If you recovered from pox, you can hardly be get negative for test again nor will gets killed by it. This means your life can be in threat again and again rest of your life by Corona, the Corona will be active again and again in constant return span and you can spread it again when it's on active again.

I regret being liberal arts student, I can't explain shit because I don't know shit about medical. Not really, the tests are shit. There's a large chance for false negatives. Then again, there's been a lot of news that mentioned that they got recovered patients back after about two weeks, which just so happens to also be the asymptomatic period on fresh infections. So it'd fit with recovery->reinfection/forever virus->asymptomatic period->rehospitalization.

Problem being that governments are trying to downplay this since they fucked up at the start to save muh economy instead of banning everything China right away, so it's hard to say what's real.

All tests are going to give false negatives when you start applying them broadly enough. Studies that claim things like "100% sensitivity" are probably rounding, and some of the tests look like they're down in the 90% range which could be an awful lot of false negatives. That's why there's even a question of whether a person is reinfected or was never clear of the virus in the first place. This is why you want to get "what's real" from the actual people studying things and not the people interpreting what those people are saying. But most people are bad at that, which is why we have the interpreters in the first place.

Bias? Facebook Fact-Checker Once Worked at Wuhan Bio Lab

>A Facebook fact-checker that labeled a documentary about the origins of the coronavirus, including the theory that it escaped the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China, as “false” has worked at the lab in question.

>The fact-checker’s ties to the lab in Wuhan were first flagged by investigative journalist Sharyl Attkisson.

< You cannot make it up.

< The "fact checker" Facebook is using to censor a documentary discussing possibility that

< corinavirus came from Wuhan lab… is scientist who worked at Wuhan lab with Chinese

< communists.

< Honestly, folks. pic.twitter.com/Tqk155S3DD

< — Sharyl Attkisson🕵️‍♂️ (@SharylAttkisson) April 15, 2020

>The fact-check was done by Health Feedback, which describes itself as a “worldwide network of scientists sorting fact from fiction in health and medical media coverage.” One of the experts they consulted when reviewing the video was Danielle E. Anderson, an Assistant Professor at the Duke-NUS Medical School.

>In the disclaimer below the fact-check, Anderson writes that she has “worked in this exact laboratory at various times for the past 2 years” and praises its “strict control and containment measures.”

>The documentary that, according to the fact-checkers, contained false and misleading information was produced by Epoch Times. It looks at how the Chinese Communist Party handled the coronavirus outbreak and likely engaged in a coverup that resulted in a global pandemic, citing scientific data and interviews with high-ranking scientists and national security figures.

>Epoch Times makes it clear they’re not claiming that the virus originated in a lab in Wuhan, but brings attention to that as a possibility. It’s worth noting that its article refers to the virus as the Chinese Communist Party virus. The Epoch Times was founded by a group of Chinese-Americans who are associated with the Falun Gong movement, and the paper is blocked in mainland China.

>Facebook hasn’t disclosed that one of the fact-checkers that censored the documentary has ties to the Wuhan lab.

>The fact-check, published on Feb. 20, claimed that there’s no evidence of a lack of security and management weaknesses at the lab or that researchers there studied “SARS-CoV-2 before the outbreak.” It contends that the virus is of natural origin, quoting both China’s authorities and the World Health Organization (WHO).

>But now, there is more circumstantial evidence suggesting that the coronavirus might have escaped a lab and that China mishandled the outbreak in the early stages. This week, it was reported that the Chinese government remained silent for 6 days after concluding that the virus could cause a pandemic. In 2018, the U.S. in Beijing embassy warned of safety issues at the lab in Wuhan via diplomatic cables and asked the U.S. for more support. There are Chinese reports that show researchers there have studied coronaviruses in bats and collected samples from caves. That same lab was the first to report that the virus came from bats.

>This and other information raise questions about China’s claims that the virus jumped from animals to humans at the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market, which, according to some reports, didn’t even sell bats.

>Why it matters: Facebook, like other social media platforms, has introduced strict coronavirus-related rules for users to stop the spread of misinformation about the virus. Its efforts, however, are now being challenged, as Facebook is learning that policing a platform is not easy. It is unclear how the company plans on fighting misinformation, given the fast-changing nature of the pandemic and whether it will go back to fact-check and label claims now that the “conspiracy theory” about the virus coming from a lab has become a possibility worth considering.

Worth noting that phased openings would most likely be open to reversal should it trend the wrong way. Again, there's a balance to be found here, because going all-in on quarantining until virtually no new cases are coming up will almost certainly cause a massive shitstorm as well.

I think it's time for Americans to rise up against the authoritarian rule by using this coronavirus facade to keep people locked down and impoverish. They've gone too far where they are making the cure worse than the disease. How does dumping 37 tons of sand into skateparks help anyone? How does blocking assembly, which is your constitutional right, on facebook legally acceptable.

It's funny how lefties who are against governmental overrule are now acting as snitches for big brother and doing as their governors say as more of their freedoms are being taken away for just a little bit of protection. Celebs have also shown how out of touch they were, talking down to the people that actually pay for their entertainment who are at risk of going homeless if jobs don't come back soon. They even had that charity concert to fund WHO, the one who spread the misinformation on the coronavirus being not transmittable to humans.

People were very compliant for the 1st month when we didn't know the dangers of coronavirus but now we have more data and the draconian ruling does not match up with what is really happening in this pandemic. I don't agree with the conspiracy theory of an annual paid vaccine but I can see it as a possibility. What is happening is opportunistic fascism by accident. Countries are using a pandemic to flex their power once they initially saw the compliance of their citizens.

The economy needs to be brought back. You can't lock down people forever. People would even be willing to wear mask, use hand sanitizers and follow some social distancing rules as long as they can work. States should compromise because their dictatorial actions are not welcome to freedom-minded individuals. Going out on the streets during coronavirus should be treated like the surgeon general warning on cigarettes: You know the risks but it's your choice whether you do it or not. Simple as that.

It's true that many people are going overboard trying to act like the police or snitching instead of minding their business.

That post however goes full retard when claiming that the virus isn't as bad as it looks because fewer people are getting sick and dying than some predictions expected, so the lockdown and precaution measures aren't necessary. While not realizing that things aren't worse precisely because of the lockdown and isolation.

Idiots who defend this viewpoint are getting more vocal and numerous where I live too, and I'm starting to think it might actually be a good idea to fully cancel the quarantine and everyone go full back to normal mode, as long as these people and authorities are prepared to face responsibility in case it turns out you'll have to skip over corses on the sidewalks. Wouldn't affect exposure to me and my family too much anyways, since all of us either work from home or are retired.

I mean, look at this shit:

>Going out on the streets during coronavirus should be treated like the surgeon general warning on cigarettes: You know the risks but it's your choice whether you do it or not. Simple as that.

I'd be fine with that, as long as the people who ignore the quarantine are willing to sign a document relinquishing themselves of entitlement to any healthcare or additional welfarebux in case they do get infected, and are on their own. I wouldn't want me and my family to be unable to get treatment in case one of us got some other health related problems the need urgent care (or covid-19, despite the precautions and quarantine), because all the hospitals are overcrowded with people who got infected by ignoring the recommendations.

As for Sweden, it really is a case for more in-depth analysis in case the numbers and stories are true. However this is Sweden we're talking about, I trust any news coming from that cuck dystopia almost as much as I trust news from China. Either way, even if Sweden and the liberal media aren't lying about their numbers, I'd say it would be risky to base decisions on an outlier.

South Dakota has a population below 1 million on over 75,000 square miles. Their population density is about 11 per square mile. Compare and contrast with New York, which has 420 DUDE per square mile, and more importantly, New York City, which boasts about 27,751 people per square mile. Also worth noting that in New York state, pretty much all the hardest-hit counties are either near NYC or contain sizable urban areas. Erie (Buffalo) and Monroe (Rochester) both have over 1k confirmed cases, whereas Onondaga (Syracuse) and Albany have over 500 cases.

>Unironically yes, they will. We don't think, we know. In buses, subway trains, grocery sales, parks in sunny days. On unlicensed festivals helds in poor/slum areas.

I think the keyword in his post was "the majority". Where I live the number of healthy young people (less than 40 yo, many in their 20s) who end up in serious life-threatening condition or dying to Covid has been increasing and making an increasingly larger percentage of patients and deaths every day - it's an issue that has actually been making mainstream news since last week around here. Only children and teenagers appear to be really resistant against it.

Let's keep in mind that there are many different mutations of this virus, the less dangerous might be boomer removers, but others are pretty much airborne aids.

>>16922772

>The only idiot is you. You're advocating for MORE people to die rather than less.

>You're trading one fear for an absolutely catastrophic event.

You say that because you believe in the assumption that infections and deaths won't skyrocket and reach Italy/Spain/Wuhan rates or worse if lockdowns are just lifted. And you might as well be right. But what if you're wrong? Would you be willing to bet all your savings on you being right about this?

Look, I know the lockdowns can't last forever and eventually everything will have to go back to normal. But I do think they should remain in place at least until the end of the north hemisphere summer and then start getting gradually lifted. The rich fuckers who employ people can take it and can afford it. Heck, most small and mid size business owners probably could afford to keep paying their employees on lockdown for a few more months just with the trade-in money they'd get if they traded their brand new Tesla/Volvo/Cadillac/Chevy Suburban/RAM 3500 for a Civic or Corolla. I know I sound like a commie socialist now but these are unusual times where it's common sense for the more affluent to have some consideration, otherwise there won't ever be goyim to buy their shit afterwards.

Good. I've been enjoying the NEET life for almost a month now because of Corona. Thank God for me being relatively shut-in even when I had a job, because it makes sitting in my parent's basement watching and playing video games all day that much easier. I cannot imagine what the normalfag psyche must be going through in isolation. Although the USA beginning to split itself over reopening ASAP vs. extending lockdowns is giving me minor anxiety over an uncertain future. I am comfortable with being in the middle of a pandemic. Not so much being in the middle of a pandemic with normalfags. I have confidence that whatever choices normalfags make on whether or not to reopen or stay closed, they will half-ass those choices and at best we'll eventually be right back to where we are today.

>The economy isn't real

>They are the only ones who need it to stay in place though.

Regardless of how financialized the modern economy is or how much your favorite MSM outlet likes to focus on the S&P 500 as if it's the god of all macroeconomic indicators and the alpha and omega of the economy, the fact is that people buy goods and services; and people exchange their labor for money; and people manage businesses where they sell things; and people assume, owe, and pay debts. Food spoils; rent and utilities aren't free. The laws of physics and economics still apply, as much as you want to ignore them. Supply chains are things that exist and food does not just manifest from the Whole Foods down the block (I know, it's hard to believe). I'd like to see you lose whatever income you have and blithely state "that's fine; who needs dollars because muh economy is imaginary".

>the hands that use them are in jeopardy

Yeah, no shit, maybe because people can't go 18 months without a paycheck while they wait for a vaccine. Do you think 22 million unemployed within a month is a normal number? Do you think that the people who were living paycheck to paycheck can afford to just sit tight for a year and a half? Do you think that the healthcare system is going to function at all if people can't afford to eat? If there aren't enough remaining businesses to supply the necessary goods for the functioning of society? Do you think that we can just push a button and restart the economy if the businesses which normally employ people have all gone tits-up?

>>16922802

>You say that because you believe in the assumption that infections and deaths won't skyrocket and reach Italy/Spain/Wuhan rates or worse if lockdowns are just lifted

And you're assuming that the economic costs won't lead to more deaths if the lockdowns aren't lifted.

>But what if you're wrong?

So the flexible solution to this problem is the one where we impose a mandatory shutdown and necessarily destroy the global economy?

>Would you be willing to bet all your savings on you being right about this?

We don't have to bet anything because the decision has already been made for us. But don't act so fucking compliant when the government tells you to sit in your home and shit yourself.

>The rich fuckers who employ people can take it and can afford it

LOL so we should all end up working for Amazon after all? Because even Google and Facebook are losing billions of $$$ in ad revenue.

>Heck, most small and mid size business owners probably could afford to keep paying their employees on lockdown for a few more months

What are you talking about? The layoffs have been happening (see: unemployment). The business closures are already happening. We stand to lose 3.5 million small businesses w/i 2 months & 7.5 million w/i 5 months.

>just with the trade-in money they'd get if they traded their brand new Tesla/Volvo/Cadillac/Chevy Suburban/RAM 3500 for a Civic or Corolla

How out of fucking touch do you have to be to think that the average person who runs a grocery store or restaurant actually operates at anything above razor-thin Walmart-tier profit margins?

Small businesses make up 57.3% of the private workforce and consist of 90% of America's companies; don't act like they don't matter.

I'm thinking more within the context of hotspots (e.g. NYC) and surrounding areas vs. regions that are nowhere near major viral areas. Going back to the South Dakota example, the closest states to it that are getting hit hard are Colorado (just over 10,000 cases) and Illinois (about 31,500 cases), and both of those are several hours out. So in my opinion, holding it to the same degree of regulation as NYC or similar seems, well, not necessary. Granted, I'm not 100% knowledgeable of that state's exact situation outside of a statewide case count, so certain parts of it may need to be a tad more regulated than others, for a longer period of time. I guess what I'm getting at is that a one-size-fits-all solution may not be the best for everyone involved.

What you're saying makes sense sure, but there needs to be a level of coordination for it work that makes it not really feasible imo, coordinating who, from what state/city can travel to what other state/city, for example ideally there wouldn't be any lock-down as in the infected people would self segregate and maintain a personal quarantine, but that didn't happen, so what if someone from NY somehow travels to South Dakota and infects a bunch of people, then we're back to square one.

And even if the cases are few, that just means they're all other things being equal that they're a few days/weeks behind the curve, so why wait for things to get worse?

Again, just like you i'm not an expert by any means, those are just my observation from what i know.

I definitely see what you're saying, and it's mostly an "agree-to-disagree" sort of thing. Although I will note that as far as curves go, just because an area, whether it be a state or a subsection of a state, having less cases doesn't necessarily mean they're at a different point in a curve. Unfortunately I can't find any day-to-day statistics on SD like NY has, which for what it's worth, has seen a noticeable downward curve in new cases the past ~2 weeks. Speaking of, apparently I'm not the only with this thought process.

There's hope yet that this is a true Happening. I was getting a little disinterested once the virus itself showed it's meager percentage numbers, but now I believe the panic itself could be a true Happening. I guess we'll see. If some people get their way, we'll experience a recession that will top the Great Depression itself.

Just to get this out of the way, I don't think that it would be good. At best, I'd only consider what came afterwards as possibly good, after many of us are dead. If it was up to me, no one would die and I'd prefer life to be good right here and now. But that isn't going to happen. Most people refuse to seek wisdom and refuse to prioritize the important things in life simply through their own willpower. Few care for even a little introspection or even learning from history (which is easy enough - wisdom of the past is handed on a silver platter… and people still refuse to fucking listen). So the alternative is pain. The kind of pain that fucks everyone's minds so hard that humanity becomes neurotic and survival lessons get genetically imprinted through trauma for a few generations or so. The kind of trauma that made the "Greatest Generation" what it was, for example. Those men were humble, God fearing penny pinchers who stormed Normandy for the sake of protecting their families. The Depression did that to their minds. And that's what we need. Or to use another example, Europe didn't have the Peasant's Revolt, Joan of Arc, or if you're Protestant - Martin Luther, until the whole continent was wrecked with the Black Plague. It made later generations - especially lower classes - see their dignity and bargaining power - and caused revolutions in political and religious rights for a few hundred years afterwards.

Good point, that's true.

I just don't think the US will be able to coordinate and take the right steps to allow the most freedom possible but at the same time stop the spread of the virus, it's not impossible but it's really hard, maybe in a small united and ethnically homogeneous country, that or China's tyranny.

Also anons have you been doing your home workouts? I've been doing that Athlete's circuit workout for a week now and while my entire body is jelly, I'm also feeling the gains.

>random no-name animator acts like a jackass

>Twitter spergs out

After looking into the guy, it seems to have gone on somewhat of a downward spiral over the past 3 years.

He started drawing a lot more disgusting and political related stuff, started getting banned from various platforms, got involved with the aut-right for a bit in 2017, got involved in that awful Twitter circlejerk of edgy Newgrounds-era artists like Psychicpebbles before they realized his "ironic" edge wasn't ironic and they seemingly (though not publicly) cut ties with him.

He's lost roughly 85% of his Patreons since 2018. Before 2017 he was seemingly a pretty normal animator, he did a somewhat popular Game Grumps animated short seven years ago.

To be fair, pretty much everyone was wrong on the scope of this shit. I significantly underestimated it at the time this thread was made myself, even if I was taking precautions shortly after it went up.

Although my prediction of NY's new cases trending downward slowly from the other week has been accurate as of now.

>>16932841

There was a point where I'd personally disagree, but many areas are past that point by now, as far as I'm aware. The curve was successfully flattened, so certain areas are absolutely in the right to start reopening while maintaining precautions. Speaking of, I love how the anti-reopening crowd can't stop strawmanning the people calling for it.

This line of logic is literally the exact reason the Spanish flu got so bad.

>the worst of the pandemic has passed, let's loosen restrictions!

<loosen restrictions; another outbreak occurs

>how could we have foreseen this, re-implement lockdowns!

<restrictions put back in place, infection numbers go down

This kind of shit doesn't surprise me anymore. One of the rules of the globalists' satanic cult states that they must always disclose to the goyim whatever shenanigans they're planning to pull, and the goyim must consent to it.

Being the subversive, sneaky kikes that they are, they circumvent their own laws by doing said disclosure in the form of fiction in mainstream media, and if people aren't outraged or speak out against it, that implies consent to them.

I liked leftists a little more when they were like that RATM song: "Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me!" It wasn't pure commie "leftism". There was streak of anarchism to it. Now all you do is repeat State slogans and propaganda. WTF happened to you anyways?

This doesn't improve until you figure it out. The Right can't do it alone. They just become media fodder if they're the only ones at protests.

>They just become media fodder if they're the only ones at protests.

I think that's kinda the point. They would much rather prolong the current state of affairs than share this victory with the right. They think they are eliminating the right in doing so and therefore implementing a purely left ideology that noone can or will ever oppose. It is the sad result of their worship of Hegelian dialectics, their understanding of reality is that of a straight line with no new branches, loops or dead-ends barring the end of the line as a whole. Thesis meets anti-thesis and both are destroyed to form the synthesis, effectively going from a series of branches to converge to a singular point so that their line comes into fruition. A straight line from point A to point B, since they do not see their own opinion as one of the things that becomes destroyed in the synthesis. They see their ideals as point B itself and anything else as simple stepping stones on their way to get there.

It's the underlying concept for progressivism: you go forward and you never go or look back. So when the right is destroyed, it remains destroyed and only their utopia remains in the end. Having the right survive this crisis would in their eyes mean their own destruction in the seemingly inevitable clash afterwards. Because if they surrender their hold over the government or, more correctly, the government's hold over them then they expose themselves to the possibility of being destroyed. So they prolong this agonisingly slow and painful state of affairs thinking that they are at the same time strong enough to take the government on their own and that they at the same time wield its power as a tool the same way you can wield a pencil. Write whatever you want with it, then just snap it in half and throw it away when you grow tired of it.

Except that never happened, zog shill? The spanish flu was dangerous, covid19 is not any more dangerous than a seasonal flu. There is no proof it's the super-duper-hyper-6-million-killer-virus it's hyped up by zog's and jewish media.
