Preferably games a potato can run. I know Mount & Blade Warband is excellent for mods, my favorite is Gekokujo. Also I've had Battlefront 2 2005 on PC for the longest time and have only just found out there's a fairly good modding community for it. If anyone here is familiar with good mods for it let me know which ones to download. When I look for a mod in a game I care more about new models/skins/maps that sort of stuff rather than rework mods.

It's not a modding community, I think, because there's only one mod, but Seiken Densetsu 3 has a balance mod named "Sin of Mana" that feels like a different game. Equipment has side bonuses instead of only higher stats. Bug fixes like Duran's shields not working. Magic and melee classes are about equal to each other instead of melee dominating everything always. MP auto-refills after every battle, and player spells have skippable animations. Level 2/3 techs are now worth the risk of suffering counter attacks. New items. New boss AI. New in-battle moves like running, strong normal attacks, and counter attacks. And new difficulty levels, among a few other features I'm missing.

VTM:B has so many bloody mods that improve an already great game. The Unofficial Patch is great for fixing many bugs that the game has. Been currently dipping my toes in the Clan Quest mod which adds tons of new quests, npcs and re-hauls weapons n such.
Also be been playing around with some ENB shaders with it, trying to decide if I like the ENB's or just the stock atmosphere which is fucking fantastic.
Quite handy as I find myself reinstalling this game nearly every 6 months, each time installing a new mods.

Europa isn't really meant to be played by people new to the game, the mods I mentioned are simple enough for anyone playing for the first time to get in to. EB is overrated anyways; I appreciate how much depth they go in to in terms of historical accuracy but I can't stand the combat in it.
But that's just me, after someone gets a feel for the game and thinks they are good at it then they can give EB a shot along with over more challenging mods like Call of Warhammer, Stainless Steel, Third Age, etc.

I think Jedi academy is still pretty active when it comes to multiplayer, and that's always modded. I'm fairly certain that most paradox games have a decently active multi scene with players who don't mind using mods, but good luck setting up sessions as most use discord for it. Most fps games still use custom maps, though I don't know many that go in to full overhaul. In theory we could set up a multiplayer campaign for Med2 here; the way it works is that instead of connecting to each other online we would start a hotseat campaign and pass around a save file every time we finish a turn.

What's wrong with it? I love the ancient era so I might be biased, but I always preferred the combat of pre-gunpowder era, much easier to command. It's difficult to implement Macedonian tactics when fighting with AI, but Roman quincunx is perfectly doable.

If the game wasn't a worse skyrim with great graphics being the only saving grace, there would be both mods and speed runs, the game hardly have either. I am amazed by the level of detail and quality of the environment, but the fucking gameplay is literally worse than skyrim. No joke, the one thing people don't get and complain the most about in KCD is that if you attack first like in any other game you get your ass handed to you. Learn to parry and counter reliably and suddenly fighting is a cakewalk. I suppose its KCD's fault for letting you get by swinging randomly early on and then hitting you with a difficulty cliff when you're fighting someone who will actually counter you back.

Another question: What are mods you guys want to see for a game? I want a proper Berserk mod for M&B: Warband. I know the OG M&B got a Berserk mod but it was small and I don't think it ever got ported to Warband. I kinda got a picture of what it'd be like.
It should be centered around difficulty because that'd be fitting for Berserk. It starts off at the current point in the story of the manga. You play as Guts accompanied by his party members in the story who are able to fight. Your party members are counted as essential NPCs so they don't die in battles. You don't get to recruit NPCs, but your party members have increased stats. If you lose a battle one or a few of your party members get taken to prison somewhere and you have to break them out. The map takes place in Midland, with Falconia being the capital. Basically the goal of the game is to siege Falconia and kill Griffith. Though it would be very difficult because you'd be fighting hundreds of enemies in a small party. To make it easier you'd have to travel around the map and find the Neo Band of the Hawk commanders and defeat them in battle, then capture the leader and kill them. This is so they wouldn't travel back to Falconia to make the base numbers bigger in a siege defense. Each commander and their army would be like 100 troops, with the commanders having increased stats to treat them like bosses, you would have the option to kill them separately or choose the hard way. Basically the mod would take a non-canon approach to the story. The only thing I'm not sure would be possible to put in the mod is if you can make yourself and NPCs have increased stats that are capped, and not being able to recruit more party members. You can definitely have different models/textures for characters. It's possible to have magic (It was done in the Fantasy Calradia mod). It's possible to make siege bases as big as Falconia.
I've went way into detail over a mod that would never happen. Wishful thinking though.

I just reinstalled KOTOR 1 and its modding scene is fucking insane. There's the standard mods to add new weapons, cutscenes etc, but those have been around forever. I'm talking mods like the one I found where some autismo decided that he didn't like the arena spectators on Taris - a segment that lasts maybe five minutes total - so he made new animated models using The Old Republic, then converted them into a format KOTOR can use. It apparently took the guy like six months of genuine work to figure out how to do it.
Other than that I found at least two hundred mods that were all worth considering, and probably five hundred beyond that which sucked and added terrible voice-over work to OC donut steele characters and whatnot.

There are lots of mods to add new questlines etc, but like I said, a lot of them look to be made by turbospergs, retards or children so I only downloaded visual changes and some mechanical changes - one to make grenades deal increased damage based on your Demolition skill, one to rebalance ranged weaponry to make them more dangerous, one to fix Repeaters so that they attack twice per round (as the devs intended), etc.
I'm having a blast but it's been years since I played it last so maybe I was just ready to play it again. If you only played it once you should try it again but do it with the other morality than the one you did the first time.

Nah, their launcher doesn't rake in as much money as Steam does, and they don't seem to have this irrational mindset of "We waited too long and now expectations are too high for us to release anything". Fallout76's success has shown them that they really don't have to put forth any effort, and shown us that there's really no low that they'll sink to.
So there's definitely going to be an Elder Scrolls 6. But they might call it "Skyrim 2" though.

Doom and Elder Scrolls were the obvious choices, but they've already been mentioned. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the fact that Oblivion and Skyrim both have total conversions. For Oblivion, there's Nehrim, and Skyrim has Enderal. Both were made by the same team and take place in the same world, and both are quite worth playing.
Neverwinter Nights hasn't been mentioned, so I'll mention it. People have made a fuckton of modules for it, due to its toolset offering a very good balance of power and accessibility, and new modules are still being made. Tales of Arterra and the Aielund Saga are two of my favorites. And it can run on just about anything. The only problem is that Beamdog has taken it over with their "enhanced edition" and the normal version isn't available for purchase anymore. I recommend pirating the NWN Diamond Edition.
Then we have Freespace 2. Its source code was released several years ago, and the community has taken full advantage of it. The FS2 community is relatively small, but extremely active. In addition to mods and campaigns for the original game, there are also a number of total conversions - there's one for BSG, one for Babylon 5, one for Wing Commander, and soon, one for Star Wars. There's also another TC called Wings of Dawn that takes place in its own anime-style universe. Much like NWN, FS2 modding is very accessible; the mission editor is easy enough for anyone to understand but powerful enough to make some really complicated stuff. Adding new ships and weapons is also relatively easy, and many people have done so.
There's a program called Knossos that makes it very easy to install FS2 Open and a lot of mods:
https://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php?topic=94068.0
I recommend playing FSPort first. It's Freespace 1 in the FS2 Open engine, and FS1 is just as worth playing as FS2 is. Then you can play FS2 and modded campaigns. If you want to see a demonstration of just how far the community has been able to push the engine, I recommend the Just Another Day series. Specifically, JAD 2.21, JAD 2.22, and JAD 2.23. They're parody campaigns, but they're also a great example of FS2 doing things it was never originally designed to do. The original Just Another Day campaigns had minimal modding, but were still pretty fun, and playing them helps in understanding the story of the JAD 2 series. On the other hand, you'll appreciate JAD a lot more if you have more experience with FS2 campaigns, because it makes a lot of references to common campaign tropes and plot points in the more popular campaigns.

The only game that can truly fulfil the fantasy of being a mage in all its respects, research, gathering resources, casting spells, learning and becoming a powerful being through hard work and effort. I haven't seen any other game where you have to build magical machines and laboratories for your efforts, explore several dimensions to get the necesary things, fight monsters and gather resources just to be able to reach new heights in magic.
Same with technology.
Same with building.
And many other things.
Mods can make this game far more interesting, but the grind can become obnoxious sometimes.

I wouldn't consider this a good game for mods. The vast majority of the community made content is as bad as the official stuff, and there's a lot of massive issues with any significant modding thanks to Bioware hardcoding so much shit. For example, it's easy to do something like let sorcerer learn more spells by altering a single number in a 2da file, but making it so that sorcerer casting is based on INT instead of CHA isn't possible due to the way it's coded. I heard this limitation is the biggest problem with implementing custom classes, too.
