Here we go.

This intro is a good example how to do low budget well. Get one good voice actor and one good artist, you really don't need animation if VA and art is good. Just imagine how terrible this intro would be if they had gone to before 2012 3D-rendered shit and multiple VAs to explain the setting. The intro is short and still it works perfectly as a storytelling point and a great world building introduction. On devs standpoint, it's a really smart and cost effective decision. You will see the mandatory 3D-rendered cut-scenes later, when I hooktube, nope, that got (((fucked up))) I'll find another way. The 3D renders are fine, but just because they are short and very static.

This is a Shit Post Through. It was just a joke thread where I played through a really bad game and posted scrcaps and comments. I did a few of these 1-2 years ago, just for fun. Stopped because it took too much time.

I found a folder that had some old material and decided to just post it.

Some people might remember "Apple-Tan" or "Deer Ass Backwards Jump Charge" from previous threads.

Anyway, this is the last one of these.

My first intention for Shit Post Through was to make the a discussion about how to make shit better, but it always devolved into some shitposting galore. I expect nothing else this time.

So, here is the first upgrade point. A tentacle monster that shows you the "ANCHOR" but you can't buy it yet. It's a fucking mind trick to keep you playing. EA shit right here.

First parts of the game are as linear as they get. Later you get maybe too much branching paths. Some are mandatory loops to go through to progress. And here we get to the first serious design flaw:

Pick randomly 1/3 routes, waste 1-2 mins of time just to see that you should have picked another route, with no indication at all. All the routes are jump and hover shit, that does not work. It's fucking horrible.

For a 2012 game, this is pretty check point heavy. To the point that if you clear a hard part to find out that you should have gone the other way, the game helpfully saves, right there, where you fucked up. Time to rage quit.

Back to the actual game: First boss… Holy fuck! I WTF! How fucking horrible this is shit? The way to beat him is pretty obvious, but something is wrong here. It actually is random. Tested about 10 times and fuck if I know how it works.

OP's back. I had to go on a little drinking binge. Shits looking bad, but I'm going to finish this thread anyway.

I just realized why I did not do this thread back when I played the game. There really is not that much to say about it. My notes mentioned something about an interview that had some great shit in it, but fuck if I know what that was. What I remember is that the devs had to release a broken game or the funding would be cut or they would lose a deal for a new game and basically fuck them to dirt. I'll try to look more in to this.

Back to the game:

We get a short cutscene with this creepy ass 9 eyed spider thing. A bulk standard run away sequence happens. It's fairly intense just because the 9 eye spiders move in a really creepy stuttering pattern. Once again, good visuals are enough to make this work.

This level has the first swimming parts, and as all ways, they are pretty good. Nothing great.

Now we get to the:

TOTAL FUCKING BULLSHIT

These yellow fucking solid piss golem enemies launch a torrent of green death of piss, so potent that you just die. And for some goddamn reason they home in you like nothing else in the game.

Remember that this is a melee to mid range combat game. Not only does this green spunk stun you, it also pushes you back. You think that's enough? Fuck no, it also poisons you! Welcome to hell.

Literally nobody seems to care, but I back to finish this. I didn't find the interview I was talking about, so that's great because the interview was supposed to be the main point of this thread. What a shitshow. But luckily this baby has some pretty good stuff in the end. I never picked these games at random, they always have some really weird things in them. The long format fucked me over this time though.

After the Piss Golem Bullshit there is only a few things worth a look, so I'm just going to rush to the ending which is quite something. I have never seen that horrible way to and a game. The game introduces a new "game mechanic" in the last CUTSCENE that has never been mentioned before, and you are completely fucked. Stay tuned, the ending really is one of a kind.

Basic game play continues and we finally get the ANCHOR upgrade. It's pure garbage.

The Tree of Knowledge tells us that the bandits of "Chihoohoo" have taken "Treedweller" to "Bad City". You might start to notice some very disturbing themes surface. It's just a your imagination.

Boss fight is pretty good. And ends with a proper explosion.

Next was just a mandatory sewer level. Sewer levels are so fucking easy now because we all have played them through for 100+ times in different games. No deaths.

Next we go to a casino stages.

This really shows how much love was put in this game. It's really comfy low combat stage. A lot of chatter and minor details add to the atmosphere.

Scary Girl has a bone for a hand, did that turn you on, you sick Boner Lord. I should have waited for Halloween, but I had to get this out while I still remember it even exists.

No combat here so we find a shopkeeper and buy some sweet gear and skillls.

Have to go with "Violating Twisting Tentacles". And some Grab and Spin action. Still not a H-game. The Fan was as useless as the Anchor, what a waste. I'm sticking with the basic tentacle attacks for now. Fun to test shit though, the combat changes a lot just with weapons of different speed.

Level is beautiful, sound track is really good and no combat, yet. Best level this far.

I have forgotten to tell that there is a kind of ultimate attack called "ScaryMode". Turns you into this Deep Sea Horror and kills everybody on your way. It lasts about 1 second and charges very slowly. Basically a panic button mechanic.

Casino level has a very combat heavy upper part where you jump from chandelier to chandelier killing shit. Boss fight is a classic: "Rocksteady" and "Bepop". A dual boss fight with tag team shit on the boss. Not a good fight, but designed well enough to be fun with good upgrades.

This next part was an absolute nightmare. Swarms of enemies, no health upgrades, no room to dodge them and not enough upgrades to compensate. A shit show of the highest order.

I had to make a few edits, for fun.

I was so close to quitting here. Nothing works and no upgrades give you any edge.

Finally got through this shit by using ScaryMode in mid level bullshit enemy swarm and deliberately saving it to similar late level instant death patrol spawn.

I'm just going trough this as fast as possible to get to the end. The ending is going to blow your fucking mind. It has something you have never seen before.

We are getting very close to the ending. If you haven't picked up on the hidden agenda yet, how about a slave market for the rich.

This time they have a very special thing on sale. It's a fairy of the forest or whatever the fuck it's supposed to be. The level is linear loop around the auction house. Very easy level compared to the ride here.

Don't get distracted, this is literally a slave market. A game with kids horror theme visuals with a slave market, not what I would have guessed. And it gets worse, in the end.

The story goes from the slave trade level: Someone bought the tree spirit fairy loli from the auction and ran away. Now ScaryGirl needs to track him down in the Bad City.

The levels are just the same. But if you get run down by a car it's instadeath. Short annoying levels, but pretty good with upgrades. Most fun and challenging combat levels this far.

Also there's this one enemy that made me instantly think of Tumblr, for no apparent reason. It's the one with this devil riding a crooked retard. Meta? I don't know.

A quick one.

Level with just one special boss fight under water. I fucking love these in any game. Mix up the game play, just for one fight, it's great.

The Last Level

Pic. related. Is a upstream battle of bad mechanics and bullshit timing puzzles. Not too hard, but very fucking long and sometimes the random shit electricity kills you.

Next: The worst ending I have ever seen.

The Worst Ending in the History of Mainstream Video Games

This was kind of shocking to me at first, because I can forgive all the usual bullshit Cliffhanger Endings and "It was just a Dream", or even the laziest Still Image and Misspelled Text "Congrudalions!". None of that really bother me. Ass Effect 3 "pick a color" was terrible, but it wasn't straight up malicious. Here's the deal on ScaryGirl:

You should have not bought the upgrades to make the game tolerable to play!

I shit you not. You have to save quite a lot of upgrade money to pay for your and the cute little fairys freedom in the end. This total shit move has not been mentioned before and you are in the last CUTSCENE. You are probably fucked, who would not use the money to try new skills and weapons? At least on the last levels. What the fuck were they thinking?

There are 3 endings: (Depending on your money, Jesus Christ this sounds horrible now that I writing it here.)

1. ScaryGirl goes free but leaves the fairy in the Rape Dungeon.

2. ScaryGirl stays in the Rape Dungeon instead of the fairy.

3. You pay upgrade money to get both of you out from the Rape Dungeon. (This is supposed to be "the good ending…")

I cannot think of anything that comes even close to this shit. Some games leave out last levels or you get a bad ending if you play on easy, but that's fair. Reward to see the good ending is to be good at the game, that's ok. Even the old Ghost & Goblins goddess bracelet isn't really that bad, you are supposed to make another round and get the good ending. Some games give you a trick bad ending in the last minute, but that's part of the story.

But WTF is this with ScaryGirl? The game plays it 100% straight: "Did you test all the skills we put in this game?", "Do you have money little girl?". Fuck you then, it's RAPE DUNGEON ENDING for you!

Giving into the demands of someone who buys slaves from a market is the only good ending!

I dare you to find anything worse in mainstream.

My first ending was to leave ScaryGirl behind. The fairy thing had already been imprisoned and displayed in the slave auction, (Just look at it in the earlier posts) so I thought that she had already seen enough of that creepy shit. And this is what I got.

The creepiest ending ever. ScaryGirl is just left there, in an obvious child rape dungeon.

The End

Fucking horrible. So naturally I played it again, for this "Shit Game Play Through".

Here is the good ending where you pay money to a child trafficker to get you and your friend out of it. This game, holy shit. What can I even say anymore.

Also, here is a pic of the thing, that I instantly recognized as "Tumbler". Also a cleaned alpha pixel of ScaryGirl and a poster of "Arkie". They really tried to make this shit in to a film. But note that they could not have the bone hand, too gore, so they sticked a fucking hook on it. A fucking hook, the bone was here to make her look undead. Anyway, I'm out.
