I strongly disagree with you in F2P you can go through most of the game content with barely any grinding in both you start hitting the wall around the end of Transylvania but Tokyo vanilla with the aegis system is 10 time more grindy than the current Tokyo F2P.

F2P made everything more accessible, sabotage missions in particular (it's ridiculously easy to get "the unseen" achievement, when it was stupidly hard). It's unforgivable how much they dumb down the build system (which was the only thing that needed salvaging from the original, as combat was always iffy), but you can access more content just by playing the game solo in the F2P than in the original (and all the interesting content is clearly meant to be enjoyed solo as it's lots of reading and listening NPCs talk).

LA Noire was fun, it was just too casualized.

The problem about clues and shit is that you have to enable the cues because you can't just inspect anything. You can't grab any of those bottles except that one bottle on the right side of the room. You can't inspect this box, only the other box. Shit like that really takes away from the game you're either walking around waiting to hear the clue sound or going around clicking on everything because you don't know what you can and cant grab, plus once you grab the wrong item the guy instantly goes "IDON'TTHINKTHAT'SGOINGTOHELP".

R* also fucked up with the difficulty and not wanting to let the player fuck up. That last mission where you use clues to go around the city would be pretty fun, but you instantly know if you've fucked up and your partner just flat out tells you the answer if you take too long or fuck up once.

In short, it was a fun game ruined by nu-rockstar's handholding and cinematic focus.

Here's my consensus on the Sinking City, its way too ambitious for the budget it had and endlessly recycles the same rooms and enemies across however long the game was (15-20 hours it took me to finish most side quests and the main quests)

The Woke anti racism part is shoved down your throat and really heavy handed with even trump jokes thrown in which take you out of the game. The literal inbred mutated innsmouthers are set in this game as dindu nutthins and try to get you to relate to them even though they are trying to kill all humanity anyway.

The atmosphere is fantastic though when you arent being bogged down by bugs and there are some really good small parts and quests that were ok to do with little mythos and mysteries.

The detective work was kinda fun but tiresome on the middle difficulty (you can choose both detective work difficulty and combat difficulty at the start of the game which you should increase because its defualted to journalist mode)

The ending is literal mass effect 3 with rushed shitty ending clips, your choies meaning nothing in the game even though choices are heavily emphasised and effect your path like piss in the ocean. the first half was worth the pirate but it soon got tired and too woke

Anything of his work that could be construed as religious is because it was work that was emulating Lord Dunsany. Lovecraft criticized his own work when he was lamenting his life at the age of 27, "I have my Poe pieces, and I have my Dunsany pieces… But where are my Lovecraft pieces?" It wasn't until 7 years later that he'd finally break out of his rut of emulating others and give up on his (what others thought to be hopelessly unbreakable) old ways and start to see the world. For the last 10 years of his life Lovecraft was a much changed man, he gave up on his xenophobia and racism. However, he had a misstep along the way and it cost him another year of his short life, as he lamented slipping back into his old habits. and then he got gut cancer and the rest is history.

Throughout his life Lovecraft wrote at least 100,000 letters and essays and there is a prodigious archive of as much of as could be recovered. You can actually buy books that are a publishing of some of those letters and essays, and they are all over the place topically.
