Back when I worked at gamestop we had trouble keeping it in stock. Had several parents say they played it and they liked it more than their kids did. With the nu movie out it has sort of peaked my interest in the game again.

It's really influential among enginedev circles. If you read through rendering papers from a certain era, prepare to see a bunch of references to it.

Toy Story 2 was good

Anyone see the new movie yet? Something about it looks very earnest in spite of all the feminist pandering, but the last time I fell for a (((Disney))) movie (Big Hero 6) I swore I’d never watch another (((Disney))) flick again. I’ve stuck to it but this one sort of caught my interest. Didn’t like Toy Story 3 at all though.

Oddly enough it's a yes and no situation. There was not enough content to justify a full release, and yet there was no game to attach this content to. If they would have made more Toy Box content to make up for it then I wouldn't be as disappointed. If you don't have it yet, it'd be justified to buy it now so long as you don't buy digital.

I really liked it, it was pretty good as a Toy Story/Licensed game. BUT

The main story is short as hell and even the toy box have you making repetitive shit over and over, and even that is short as hell. It plays well enough and the game is rewarding enough, it feels nice to control the characters and riding Bullseye is one of my favorite things in the game.

If that's the sidescroller than I remember it being nightmarishly compelling as a child. Sort of that Majora's Mask vibe. I haven't played it in probably 20+ years, however.

It also spits in the face of some of the themes that have been there since Brave Little Toaster. These aren’t people, they are inanimate objects given personalities. They are there to be there for their owners when they need them, and accept their fate when they are done. This has some bizarre story where Woody goes back on everything he’s said in all the other movies because he found his toy lover, and the lesson directed towards kids is.. what, make sure to love your toy like a real person or it’ll leave you? Meanwhile for adults it’s, do what’s good for you. Once somebody has stopped “loving” you just give up on them and find something better.

I have NO idea about DOS, but it's pretty decent, thought very unforgiving game. Only thing, if DOS doesn't work, don't play the half assed SNES port, TT games were always made with Genesis in mind.

Assuming that there will be actual official toys/tie in merch of Forky in stores, Pixar has literally turned trash (that any kid could make) into an actual (non-trash) toy.

Great game. Was in my top 10 aa a kid and I actually really enjoyed the content in Toy Box mode and maxed everything out I think. There's more than on the surface if you look for it, though, it could be my nostalgia blinding me.
