What is the point of Baldur's Game 3? The story was over with Throne of Bhal. Other than the brand recognition. Oh well, it looks like I just answered my own question.

I played Divine Divinity (great), Beyond Divinity (meh) and some of Divinity 2 (also great as far as I remember it). But those games are old and who says that Larian today is the same as Larian back then.

Larian's not immune to poz. One of their higher-ups was bemoaning the fact that despite "half of all gamers being female" their playerbase was almost exclusively male, and ignored literally everyone responding who told him the reasons for that. There's also the issue with the concept art from the first Original Sin

The most you can say for them is that the stuff in the games tends to be less pozzed than other studios, but the employees are just as infected as the rest of the industry.

Original Sin 1 was pretty nice story and polished graphics.

Original Sin 2 had more janky graphics and 3 way bullshit battles, but it's fine since you can bullshit it yourself 5 way.

And the story+NPC is fucking garbage, I did with 2 friends a 3 person run with custom char (all humans) and the NPC helpers all died during some boat event since none were in our party at that time. But it's fine since even then one of my friend made the stronk female assassin hostile and a guard took care of her, he then proceeded to loot all her shit. I think we purged and stole most NPCs in some way or another in this game, good times.

Yeah that's the thing, it's a multi-layered joke. On the surface you're just supposed to think Minsc is silly for thinking his normal sized hamster is actually a small version of a giant hamster from space. I've seen quite a few people on /v/ in recent years comparing Minsc to reddit-tier lolsorandumb humor, and I don't get it. Divinity 2 is wasted potential the game, and you can tell that they were feeling pressure. While the RTS idea is obviously fucked if you played Dragon Commander, they don't know how to do that at all, the game is obviously small. Combat is decent, but the dragon sections are pretty good. Except for the fact that the two sections are so segregated so you can't fight infantry as a dragon, and the siege weapons the Black Ring has won't attack you on foot.

The only reason they would make an RPG and call it "Baldur's Gate 3" is for branding purposes at this point.
