Its fun but it has issues. I wish there was active development but the code is so fucking old people who have worked on it died of old age. The setting is fun, the players are niggers, and the trouble you can get into is great.

yeah its still up. The server only gets like 10 or so fags on it, its deadish. Most people are chill as fuck though because of the low pop. There was a group when we played called Gondo, a few of us still dick around on it once in a while.

The hellmoo wiki locations are largely correct for Inferno as well. Inferno lets you know in-game where everything is at, and there is probably still an outdated wiki for it too.
