In the latest Don't Starve DLC by Klei Entertainment - Hamlet - three new characters were added, one of them having a likeness to the typical Pith helmet-wearing European tourists of Africa. His name was Warbucks (Pictured). As you can tell, he probably spends most of his time outside, hence his tanned skin; however, Klei thought otherwise with his design, and decided to can him. They initially gave this reason for his removal,
>"We weren't very happy with how Warbucks was working out. While trying to find ways to make him work, we decided that he just wasn't as interesting as we would like, and so we've made the decision to start from scratch with a new character."
Which seems fair enough, maybe they couldn't balance the guy correctly or the gimmick behind his character was simply too difficult to work with…
But then they later stated,
>"Ultimately we felt Warbucks was both culturally problematic and not also very interesting to play so we decided to start over. We understand some people may like aspects of him, and perhaps we will bring some of those aspects back one day. In the meantime, we've decided to move on."
They didn't state specifically why it was "culturally" "problematic" but I can only guess they felt that it resembled a black guy too much or maybe hit too close to home with African spearchuckers (who apparently are a large enough portion of Klei's playerbase to prompt a removal)
Anyways, I hate to say it since Klei have been pretty good developers for their games thus far, but this is a red flag to be sure. Do not buy any Klei products in the future, lest you encourage this behavior some more. If you own Hamlet or Don't Starve, make a negative review on steam or GOG (and hope it doesn't get censored) to show the devs that this shit isn't necessary. Don't expect anything to change but also don't let apathy overtake you.

What have they changed to Invisible Inc? Contingency Plan was a pretty cool expac in terms of enemies, levels and the extended campaign, but it kind of sucked when it came to the new agents(Seriously, older Monst3r and Central is a load of shit and they both suck as hard as any agent who isn't Internationale or Banks) and gear(I genuinely can't think of a single piece of equipment introduced in Contingency plan).
Honestly unless Klei makes Mark of the Ninja 2, or Invisible Inc 2, none of their games will ever interest me again.
