Let's have a thread about some good old-fashioned co-op. Lots of games have it and feature it, but not nearly enough.

I've been playing Deep Rock Galactic, and UT2004's Assault/Onslaught vs. bots for old time's sake, but I want more.

What kind of shit are you playing? Any recommendations?

Used to co-op Tales with some friends, but some of them went their own path in life and the last one that's around I've already played pretty much all the entries with co-op with already, aside from Destiny, Phantasia, Zestiria, and Berseria. Mostly because three of those we'd have to play on my CFWed system and aside from required stuff like college he almost never wants to leave his house.

I recall hearing something about Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams having an unlockable option if you want a co-op action game. Though, I'm not sure if it's that a good game anyhow myself, and to my knowledge it's rather different than the main trilogy.

I really enjoyed Orcs Must Die 2. It starts off fairly easy and honestly I wish the hard difficulty was unlocked from the start, but all the synergy and combos you could do were pretty fun. Also in the vein of Tower Defense Hybrids, Sanctum 1 and 2.

My friends and I have been playing since launch, where moneyhacking was rampant. We got hundreds of millions rained on us so the grind never existed for us. Pretty fun game that was squandered by R* being jews.

My friend got this during the sale when BL3 was announced. I'm just tolerating it for her sake.

I really want to get Deeprock for me and my friends, but they're all faggots who are put off by how it looks. Shit fucking sucks.

It's not much but there is a 2d Doorkickers that's co-op focused(or at least I assume so because the single player mode felt incredibly lacking and a lot of the characters felt like they needed a buddy to work well). It's called Action Squad I think.

I wish there was a coop sequel of FFXV that improved upon the gameplay and gives players more locations to visit. Could you imagine if you went on a road trip or adventure with your friends in an interesting fantasy world while doing mini games, fishing, cooking and photography on the side?

Sadly it won't happen. And I'll never be able to scratch that itch for adventure with my friends who all live in different cities or states now.

I tried Outward and just got annoyed with the shallow setting and map that doesn't work well.

I played Guacamelee and Towerfall Ascension with a friend before I became more lonely than I already was.

There's also MMOs like Eden Eternal which are nice for Coop.

You can revive your buddies when they reach critical health. Similar to how you can give downed stalkers a medkit and they get up. So far that's mostly it. You can also complete quests.

GTA is actually fun shit when money isn't an issue. Some of the most fun I had was when playing with three other regulars doing missions and heists together. Nowadays if you try to find someone to play GTA, prepared for them to either laugh in your face or since it takes like $12m to get remotely current, or just do FiveM on some server run by some shitty Serb. Shit fucking sucks indeed.

Kind of a shame there aren't that many more co-op JRPGs than the earlier Mana games, most console Tales, Crystal Chronicles, Eternal Sonata, and maybe a few older Final Fantasy titles and other games here and there that slip my mind (and ignoring ones intended as straight up MMOs). I suppose when the stereotype for combat in JRPGs is being turn based, that doesn't leave much of a notion for them being enjoyable for more than one person though, most of the above being real time to some degree.
