>In celebration of the 25th anniversary of Earthworm Jim, Intellivision Entertainment is proud to announce it has gathered together and reunited the original Earthworm Jim team to create a brand new video game adventure exclusively for the upcoming Intellivision Amico home video game console. Ten of the original programmers, artists, audio team and level designers are taking part in bringing back the uniqueness and humor of the Earthworm Jim series.
>To celebrate the reunion with the fans, a 20 minute live interactive simulcast streaming event will take place on Saturday, May 4th at noon pacific during the first Earthworm Jim design meeting with the original team. As part of the live simulcast, the team will engage with fans to hear their new vision firsthand, multiple original art pieces will be hand-drawn by the artists, signed by the entire team and given away to people viewing the live stream. In addition, 50 brand new posters will be signed and numbered for live chat prizes.
Honestly the console itself can use some massive improvements, although if they price it right and bring back more classic hits like this then they may have a solid winner in their hands. The main issue I see is that despite the tiltable DPad, the button placement just doesn't work for games past the 8-bit era. Either way while I remain skeptical, I'm also hopeful that we could either get this game on an actual console or the console itself will be a nice mini console like the SNES Mini.

It'll probably just be okay. Not bad, not good, just okay. Sure, it's nice that the original team is coming back for this, but it's been so long since the last one that it'll probably be extremely difficult for them to go back to the mindset that made the original games so memorable. The game will have it's moments but there will be the palpable feeling that that special something just isn't there anymore. The game will still be worth a single playthrough though as long as the team is able to resist throwing in memes
