I want to start playing super robot wars games and g generation, but there are so many title tht i don't know which one are story connected with eachother between sequels and remake, plus which are translated. Is there a chart? otherwise i'm ok with atleast playing the stand-alone ones first

The mainline games are usually standalone aside from obvious sequels (Z1, Z2, alpha, alpha gaiden, etc.) and are mostly mecha from anime series. This is where all the fun crossover stuff is.

Original Generation I don't know a whole lot about, but I believe there's more of an overarching plot between some games, and the characters and mecha are all original Banpresto ones.

If you're just looking to play the normal SRW games, these are good starting points and have English translations:

>Alpha Gaiden

>V

>X

>T

Alpha Gaiden is a sequel, but most of the story is standalone and it's easy to find the .iso for it so you can try without paying. The others are all recent games that got SEAnigger English translations and you'll likely have to import them. These are also some of the only ones in English so I hope you know moon

The first 3 SRW games and a side story called EX have an english translation, and the 4 most recent titles receiving a mediocre translation, the rest of the series is just a handful of cherry picked titles. Even the OG games don't have a completed.translation, as OGs 2(not OG 2, that and Original Generation 1 were repackaged into a game called Original Generations) wasn't translated.

Bottom line, you're gonna have to learn jap to play these games, or wait an eternity to see if maybe a translator will pick it up and have it ready before a decade.

I had a dream just now that Capcom fighter pilot games like Varth, the plane from 1944, transforming suit from Side Arms, Etc were available as a pack of units to buy by themselves or as a group for the latest SRW. Could even watch video previews of their attacks on the PSN store. They had very cartoony designs that would be really cool for the series.

What other reason is there to play them? They're not exactly the pinnacle of SRPGs.
