Yes, but likely not. The issue is in the genre itself and unless severe changes are made, it's always going to be inherently flawed.
ASSFAGGOTS are like this:
20 minutes of boring mindless farm where 1 or 2 mistakes can cost you the game but nothing actually fun happens while there's so many ways you can fuck up the whole game it's a wonder anyone even defends this shit.
Next you have 5 minutes of actually team fights and this is the "designated fun moment" of the game, the part that everyone thinks about when they consider playing it again. It's short as fuck because the rewards you get from killing other players snowball you really fast, and it's not even that satisfying since it's result will be half your skill and half what you did in the past 20 minutes.
After those 5 minutes, you already know who's going to win 90% of the time (the other 10% it's because the team with the lead makes a very large amount of mistakes afterwards). However, while the winning team is strong enough to nuke the fuck out of their oposition, they aren't strong enough to finish the game just yet. So you get 20 more minutes of "dead man walking" syndrome where everyone's just going through the motions until they can blow the enemy base and finish the whole thing.
That's your ASSFAGGOTS experience: 20 minutes of incredibly boredom that still manages to stress the fuck out of you, 5 minutes of fun (that are irrelevant based on the past 20) and another 20 minutes seeing what everyone already knows slowly unfolding.
Dominions was unironically a better take on the genre. Far faster early game with better farming, fighting for point control instead of just farming other champs while slowly pushing them to their base, fights all over the map at all times and multiple secondary objectives that were more than "farm this one minion for some statistical bonus that will probably make some difference"
I'll also get some flak for this but Smite is a better ASSFAGGOT with better variety of character abilities and itemization, far less stressfull and boring early game, faster paced as well.
And extra flak for this hot take: Heroes of the Storm is also far, far better. It's a much simpler experience for sure with lots of problems of it's own, but it's also much more fun, less focused on farming (and farming requires lane presence only) with far more maps and objectives as well as character archetypes and the traits you pick when leveling up end up being more interesting to build a character with unique upgrades as well as helping to balance the whole thing. LoL nerfs one item because one Champ is OP with it while screwing another Champ that critically needs said Item, HotS can just nerf a specific trait in a specific Champ.

LoL has always been inferior dota in my eyes, this is coming from someone who hated dota in the WC3 days. It was simplified and quite frankly boring, especially when you're losing. Might as well surrender out of boredom. On top of that, there are far too many characters for the developers to ever reasonably balance and make competitive*. A small pool of heroes will be viable during any given patch, the rest are effectively garbage, maybe decent pubstompers at best, but beating lolbabbies isn't much of an accomplishment. All of that coupled with "change for the sake of change" design philosophy equals dumb dumb boring game where your favorite dude gets nerfed and you're essentially throwing the game by playing him.
*Or are there? LoL has about 140 champions while DotA 2 has around 120. While a character like Techies isn't exactly optimal, he isn't dead weight. The heroes with the lowest winrates in DotA 2 are generally the most complex/difficult such as Chen, Wisp, Lone Druid, etc, all very effective with some practice. Even if say, Bloodseeker, was nerfed into the ground he can still ruin a Slark's day. Maybe LoL devs just don't care about anything that isn't meta.

The real issue with LoL is that it has been dumbed down to 5 different classes, ADC, AP, Tank, Support and jungler.
The roster is designed to fit into a lane from the start, the entire metagame is enforced by Riot themselves since design day 0.

Clearly not or I wouldn't have suggested alternatives, but most suffer from the same problems since the genre itself is designed entirely around a long withdrawn laning\farming phase to power you up for a teamfighting phase that rarely lasts longer than 5 or 10 minutes due to heavy snowballing, but it's never efficient enough to outright end the game right there so there's another 20 of padding.
Everything else that's usually pointed at these games is either caused by this or built around this anyway. Convoluted heroes and abilities for the sake of making those 5 minutes more interesting and to try and make the initial 20 somewhat fun. Shit crutches like Flash to make up for the static nature of the game and try to make it seem faster paced. Constant balance changes because there's only 5 minutes that truly matter based around on the items you managed to buy and it's not easy to balance what power you can have based on how well you did before on it, etc.

If you have a hate boner for Blizzard, that's understandable but holds no value when judging the merits of HotS.
The truth is that, out of all the ASSFAGOTS out there, HotS has the biggest variety in maps and gamemodes, does far more interesting concepts with it's heroes, has a much shorter and more fun early phase, longer team fights and more frequent comebacks.
If your goal is to be some try-hard e-sports legendary faggot, either LoL or Dota would be better choices, but if you just want to play a videogame and have fun for a short match, HotS is undeniably the one version of ASSFAGGOTS that gives you that with the least amount of retardation and anti-fun you can get.
I'd recommend Awesomenauts too but I dunno how live that game is (and it had a small amount of microtransactions that affected the gameplay, that's another aspect that HotS is also better)

Hi-Rez always had problems, and that should be apparent with Smite alone. The concept was interesting, and the over-the-shoulder camera made it feel more unique, though I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. That's a deceptive way to read the data.
Of all those champions, only 39 were used more than 5 times, and of those only ~20 were used more than 10 times and only 15 where used more than 20 times.
This basically means that about 30% of the roster is considered playable while only 15% is considered good enough for competitive games and you still have your top "S-Rank" characters that outclass others.
We can also look at the bottom of the table instead and see 19 Champs that were picked only once (and half of them lost the game anyway), making them downright useless for most players.
Or we can just count the heroes on that table, 76, and that would mean that 44 Heroes didn't even made it into the table. You won't find neither Sona or Soraka there, for instance.
This is assuming their roster has 120 characters total, of course, but it's not a very pretty picture. 20 heroes in 120 being actually used shows very weak balance in both gameplay and character design.

The only rework I remember being fine with was Urgot, largely because his base kit felt like they had no fucking idea what they were doing when they made him and they never tweaked him to make it work. The problem is there were probably a few Urgot players who fucking loved him for what he did and the rework left his kit so different they may as well just have made a new character.
The same thing has more or less happened to a boatload of characters, even completely reworking their visuals/voicework/lore if you liked that stuff.
Or characters like Karthus and Fiddlesticks have just became pointless as they focus on a high mobility burst character meta because it's more "entertaining" for ESports. So much so that playing them puts you at an actual disadvantage.

If there is any future for MOBAs it's League, because it's casual, fast paced, with tons of pretty cute characters and skins, great marketing with popular funny and hyperactive streamers, popular musicians, etc making it cool to play it and easy to get into.
Dota2 will never attract modern kids with it's gloominess and complexity. And if they'll make some radical changes to dumb down the game they'll only turn down their existing fanbase.

From what I last played the gold income was trash and was not very useful with some heroes like wraith king. Despite he was brilliant with it and ganking at level 3 before they nerfed it. Since he could have gotten a soulring so much faster and get online in shorter time.
Also roaming and goldrunes just offer better support for your team and with how quick games finish theres less reason to get a carry character that can farm well in a jungle. But this was probably last year, so maybe its not shit now.
Doesnt matter anyway since dota is shit even if they did fix jungling.
