So I've been looking into the new Kill la Kill game and it looks fairly solid. I'm kinda surprised since I was expecting a complete mess from A+ Games. Instead I think we may have a decent but barebones anime game. This is a huge step up from Guilty Gear 2, which was a bloody mess. That said, do you guys think this is an experimental game? Or an actual product that's gonna charge you up the ass in DLC.

Will Fate, Dragon Ball, JoJo's, Fist of the North Star and Star trek be in Guilty Gear Crosstag Battle?

I liked Arcana Heart 3 Love Max and UNIST on Vita well enough for the aesthetics and characters, and they also were the sole Arcsys fighting games that didnt have the typical DLC crap

It lacks the visual authority of the anime. The use of typography is weak in comparison; the way it's animated is not as crisp or impactful. I'm not sure how deep the game is going to be generally. Also, fucking rock, paper, scissors??

That said, the characters look good. It looks polished overall. I think it should have been a game like Revengeance or Nier Automata, which would have allowed for flashy set pieces and better have suited the plot of the anime.

If JoJo gets relegated to just being in that piece of shit I'll be exceedingly disappointed. To answer your main question it's most definitely just a licensed game that wont really go anywhere after it releases.

I just realised OP didn't actually post gameplay. To clarify, it seems like the players can initiate games of rock, paper, scissors mid fight.

Another comment I had is that it's visually unclear who is winning with the notion of round points and such. The UI is kind of cluttered.

Trigger always has interesting concepts for their anime but somehow screw it up at the end. The only good stuff was Inferno Cop, Ninja Slayer, Little Witch Academia (1st one & not the tv series). Most range from decent to crap.

I'm just basing it on the gameplay we saw in the announce trailer during the fights. Working in tandem with whatever the protags are chained to and making up some crazy looking combos and shit.
