As a washingtonian, I really love Seattle - or at least, all the parts of it that aren't fucking people. They're right, it's a beautiful city at night, and we've got a lot of very interesting buildings and architecture. The Fremont troll (which is not all that far off, really) is a good example, but so is the EMP (I think it's been renamed, but it's the building near the base of the Space Needle that looks really weird and almost half-melted), the Space Needle itself, the Pike Place Market, the Seattle Library, and so on. It's a terrible, terrible city to drive in, but friendly to pedestrians and bikes (Which is why it's such a shitty drive) and in general it's a decent town. The unfortunate thing is the people, who are universally either so far left they're falling off of the political spectrum or into insanity, or are scared that their lunatic 'friends' will find out about their dark past of making slightly off-color jokes on Gaia Online or something.

The further south you go the closer you get to Oregon and Cali, and as a result the state gets progressively (heh) worse. More buzzwords on foods, higher prices (though there is a sweet spot in Tacoma where everything is cheap as fuck, never visit Tacoma. It's essentially Blight Town.) and less quality. Not to mention the traffic is shit, because like idiots we invited Amazon to set up more shit here without making better road networks and figured "Eh, I-5 can take it!". Going east is a better bet, over the mountains you get actual political differences and it's practically another state at that point.

Humanity in the original game is just a twist on SANITY.

There are GAME drawbacks to having low humanity but there are also advantages.

Of course if you fall to 0 they did put it as a game over as it would be hard to roleplay in a group (but there are actual rules for wights and they're not just beasts) and that's about it.

From Requiem (in fact it started in the revision of VTM) "Humanity" became the GOAL of the game. And it's not even "humanity" but a mix of humanity and a specific road to heaven (which had the consent thing… as God protect the innocents).

Which makes 0 fucking sense in a setting where you have ancient horrors that like to make quaint tapestry out of still living humans and aren't mindless monsters and just as ancient beings that have sent thousands (if not millions) to their deaths over petty squabbles.

Why is that? Because "Humanity" was only one of the many many many "paths" one used to follow to live with the beast as the method to holding onto their CONSCIOUSNESS obviously vary from one people to the next.

They were (DA offer a variant of the V2 system V1 lasted only 1 year and was a fairly limited print, when speaking of the "original game" it's V2).

Sabbat originally only gave the embrace "old school", they were doing mass embrace -> burying -> neonate can't drink blood -> the beast takes over but can't do shit -> made them completely hallucinate up to true death.

Whoever clawed itself out and were still conscious was largely resistant to the beast without any concepts of morality/sanity and deeply aware of the fact they weren't human.

It was a pure "survival of the fittest" thing and cool as fuck.

And then you would pick a path depending the virtues you had picked for you char.

Many paths were clan specific.

Camie had humanity as a "default path" because they didn't go through the same process but if you were low on humanity (can't remember if it was 3 or 4) you could then get on a path (with some cammie specific, Tremeres had one, Gangrels too).

And of course all the independents had some (multiples even).

"Humanity path" was really the "basic" for beginner players.

Also killing and feeding was never a sin in humanity path (the beast kill for blood. Killing for defending your interests IS human nature), only harming "innocent" was.

In one of the earlier threads I mentioned a desire to build my own fan VTMB successor, so I'm working on a demo for the game, that's my core target at current point but I also lored me some not VTM shit while lying awake in bed at night, and it's basically races as well as a few systems, the game is actually largely devoid of most of this since it's more of a precursory look into the world, it only has 3 supernatural kinds because of this, if my game meets demo day it will more than likely be the demo map with placeholder textures. Basically the kinds are so far as follows

Pretty stock, divided into sects that vampires choose to join, each one built around how players will play mechanically, factions will be layered on top for role play purposes, the 4 main sects are divided, socailite vampires who are bound by manners to the point where they can't enter an owned premises without consent, they rely heavily on subterfuge, brawler vampires, their masque regenerates at no cost, they are able to crow additional bones to use in combats, think wolverine claws, or launching bone spikes from their arms, loner occult vamps, they are quite frail and rely on summoned minions to do their bidding, as well as using the dark arts, although the dark arts are powerful they require resources to use, more than just blood. Stealth vampires, they have no masque and it's evident that they are vampires upon examining them, they have almost no health and certain weapons can kill them in a single hit, but they will automatically expend blood to turn into fog to escape. There are obvious parallels, but not just to VTM, to RPGs in general, bard, warrior, mage thief, pretty light, but I'm not putting in too much thought into these.

They have powers that make them good at hunting vampires, their thrown knives are very good at cutting through a vampires masque, and when drunken their blood will make a vampire convulse, they are even able to steal away the loyalty of a vampires servant, if that vampire isn't a socialite kind, their own powers are their powerful perceptive abilities that highlight precious metals and things made out of precious metals, as well as subtle hints that something is supernatural, they can speak to the dead or dying, (this is going to be fun to implement) they have perfect accuracy with thrown weapons which are their weapon of choice. The way you gain experience while playing as a Stryx is by adding precious metals and things made of these to a pile which you sleep on, you can't remove things from this pile without incurring a penalty greater than what it added, that way the act of stealing is tied innately to character development instead of say contemporary games which give you experience for everything like stealthily taking down guards, talking to NPCs and wiping your ass after you go 2.

Nosferatu type of vampires ala literal monsters inside and outside isn't bad, but classical horror vampires portrayed in cinema influenced by Stoker were great just as well, if that's what you're referring to by Balkans. Hammer Dracula type of vampires is good and I'll never get enough of this.

Even if we assume for a second that the writing won't be ruined it's clear as day that gameplay-wise they going to fuck it up, they going to make it consoles first and port it to PC then, never mind that original is a PC game only. I guarantee you that this "sequel" will be worse than pseudo DX sequel DX:HR in both departments, I bet on the same level of Vampyr or how ever they called that pile of shit, except this time they going to use brand recognition which is the sole reason why people are talking about it and won't forget about it as quickly as they did Vampyr. Though considering Bloodlines is just one game people will remember the "sequel" much longer but just as a terrible game overall, kinda like they remembered Invisible War.

Forgot to sage for unrelated, but anyway you get my point: When your sect within a religion is labeled the most "moderate" or "less violent" you know there's something wrong with your faith. Islam is a gross cult of personality for a vain and bloodthirsty warlord that simply grew too big and out of control. What's worse is the way that the west defends this shit, I'm in Jew Zealand and just this week we had 2 new stories back to back, 1 about islamists complaining about "islamophobia", and how people are treating them poorly for no reason, and then the very next segment was about celebrities urging people to boycott the Brunei royal family for sanctioning the murder of gays, no mention of fucking islam or sharia.
