Raid & trial bosses have 100% accuracy, so the only way to do that would be with blink shadows. They would either be an on demand hallowed for a tank buster, or a % chance of success which means the tank would be eating a tank buster unmitigated. This doesn't even take into account multi-hitting things like Akh Morns. An evasion tank would just not function in XIV.

The way dodge tanks worked in past mmos like coh/cov is that tanks were given an ability to force an evade for a small period of time. They also had a smaller chance to evade an attack when they were using a toggle ability that also gave them a small amount of damage resistance to ease the amount of damage they were taking. In other games boss auto attack do non-trivial damage. In FFXIV regen effects do more HPS than bosses do DPS with autos. All combat in this game is based around enemies tickling you with autos, and then after 5-40 seconds they do a slightly stronger attack, hueg tank buster or a mechanic and the entierty of endgame encounters are built around tanks managing their cooldowns to deal with these bursts of damage.
If your solution to making evade tanking 'work' in FFXIV is "lmaooo just make it force dodge attacks like in other games" then it would require SE to change the entire design philosophy of all encounters in the game

In under 20minutes I get a GM reply via /tell, I confirm the details to him no idea why my replies didn't show up in my SS, must have had my chat display settings wrong and he fucks off. I continue playing, get nothing in response to myself being reported in my email, and my sub just runs out. It's not until 6 days later I finally get the "You've been suspended email" but the wording is all sorts of fucked. My account is suspended for a minimum of 10days with no official end date, it will lift whenever they finish their "investigation," and the account is also being considered for termination. Now I've had the account for years and never interacted with GMs, suspensions, or being reported until just now and they're already considering deleting me. What's strange to me is that it took so long for SE to take action against me. I had a GM reply within minutes, but it took them days to get around to actually suspending my account. Is the Suspension Rules update in response to them wanting to be more PG-friendly and clear out the degenerates/shit talkers/harrassing players/non-SJWs/etc. or is it because their moderation department is severely understaffed and they need to ban people easier to clear up the giant backlog of shit? And why did my report get a response so fast? An FC-member was complaining how they never received a response at all for a report they made. Is SE automatically checking reports for keywords like gay/trans/person of color/female/girl, and then moving those reports to the priority lane? And out of all of the times of doing similar type shit in chat across more MMO's I can remember, this is the only time I've ever seen a ban that didn't either clearly state it was a permanent ban or have an expiration date. And it's also the only time I've ever seen account termination being considered for a first-time offense.

Not really. Give the tank a toggle that gives them an x% chance to dodge an attack and y%dr that's there to keep them from getting absolutely destroyed when the tank's luck goes bad. If they don't want to have a 100% dodge, they could also do what Champions did and make it so that the the chance to dodge also comes with a % of the damage dodged. An example would be player A has a 20% to dodge an attack and will resist 60% of the damage from that attack.

I didn't get very far into the game (I just don't got the type of addictive personality to get through all the grinding but admittedly I had an autistic obsession with leveling my jobs equally that may have , got most combat jobs and like two crafting jobs up to level 45 before I drifted away and never resubbed) but I'm sad to hear that communication's nosedived. For the period I played for (don't really know any specific patches but it was during Heavensward era for sure), I met a couple of cool guys to chat with out on the field. I had a bit of fun trying to hold a conversation with this one Warrior in a camp in Upper La Noscea then getting interrupted and fighting for my life in a gigantic FATE only one of us was actually in danger of actually dying to. I'm not surprised I was nailed, it was entirely expected to get suspended. I thought it was curious that I received such a quick response for my mostly frivolous report yet it took so long for them to take action against my account. Most interactions I've read about people being reported in-game were about the GMs almost instantly sending the offending player to the in-game jail and having to apologize to the GM and promise not to do it again. So I was wondering if this new Suspension Policy update was S-E bringing their punishments more in-line of industry standard "say a bad word, get a suspension somewhere between a day and a week or two," rather than the chicken little tier 'the sky is falling and S-E is infested with carebear SJWs!' I dropped NIGGERSNIGGERSNIGGERS on WoW a couple months ago and received a 24hr suspension, with a few prior incidents of similar behavior on my account. Yet on my XIV account, with no prior incidents, I received a 10-day minimum, expiration date TBD, suspension with the possibility of having my account terminated. I'm surprised that S-E went from previously pretty light sentences of just saying "Sorry" to full-on SHUT IT DOWN mode.

That's really the selling point of XIV: reliability.
Innovation is only going to happen within the set framework of the game, which is so far proven to be working well enough.
The downsides are that if you didn't like the game as it is, you're never going to like it. Additionally, flaws in the framework are less likely to get fixed, or will take a lot longer to see some change. i.e. Housing.
The upside is that if you, in the end, enjoy the game's framework and have fun, you're gonna be pretty much set until the servers shut down. Because they don't change the framework, you can have solid expectations of future content and don't have to worry as much about radical changes that completely alter how the game plays (for better or worse). If you went in knowing that it's going to be formulaic and it's gonna stay that way, you shouldn't hit a point where the devs cock everything up and it feels like all of your money went to waste.

I got into Brayflox normal the other day with a DRK that was only doing his enmity combo on one mob and one alone. DoT'ing an enemy would immediately aggro it to you and he wouldn't do anything about it. Doing anything AoE would almost be a death sentence. Wiped on trash once because the healer was completely strained. He left after we wiped on the last boss and I yelled at him for not pulling it out of its own poison AoE (which for those unfamiliar, heals the boss).
The most confounding part? He wasn't boosted to 60. His classes consisted of a lvl 34 DRK and a lvl 51 PLD so I don't think he bought an MSQ skip either. How in the fuck do you go through the MSQ and the Astral Era quests as a tank without learning a goddamn thing?

I haven't had such terrible luck. The previous bad tank I had wasn't even a bad tank, but he and the healer were both under-geared. This was Aurum Vale and he was in a variety of pieces from his lvl to lvl 28. Healer was better off, but between the two of them we couldn't even beat the first boss. He was very apologetic and left without much suggestion. I do not begrudge that anon.
Worst tank I ever had however was yet another DRK who didn't even seem to be doing his enmity combo. I have no idea what he was doing, but it wasn't anything useful. I assume he was playing on PS4 since he didn't talk and also assume he bought at least an MSQ skip (I didn't check his info).
The fuckiest part of all of this is that you don't need to be an elite raider to see this kinda fuckery. Somehow people still manage to be shit at a game this easy.

Thank fucking God. I fucking hate everyone that plays this game. I did Ghimlyt Dark last night and got partied with a Astrologian and Paladin. Right off the bat the Paladin can't do his fucking job. Itty bitty baby pulls and completely incapable of holding agro. The Astrologian was such a shitshow that I am manatransfering every single time it is off cooldown, healing her every other dualcast, and still rezing her three fucking times before we get to the twins. So we get to the twins and the Bard and I burn down the first in no time flat get through the phase change with no problems and go right into the second twin. I off a round of dualcast to get my balance bar to 80/100 and jump in for my combo. Back flip out to hit VerHoly and the twin follows me. I look and the Paladin was just sitting there in the middle of the arena like he was waiting for the boss to come to him. I get wrecked with a one-shotand then the fucking Astrologian shoots out this passive aggressive smary as fuck message to me that maybe I shouldn't try to tank a boss if I am not good enough to play RDM. I sitting here going wtf as she sends me a rez and ask her if she was fucking serious. Tank tells me to stop being a crybaby since I don't know how to play my class or how to use diversion and lucid, both of which were on cooldown due to being used non-stop to survive horrid tanking and massive mana drain via rez. Next thing I know I am booted from the party.

The healer went down almost immediately and the tank was just standing there shit talking me as the Bard drew agro and ended up kiting the boss around the arena until they got clipped. Bard was top tier by the way. They were't hit by anything that wasn't party wide, managed all the agro he pulled throughout the dungeon with kiting until the Tank could pick it up again, DoTs for days, and perfect song rotation/proc management.
I'm starting to get sketchy about the report function. Since the new ToS came out I have been submitting at least one report a week for this kind of shit and I don't think it has any effect.
Like how the fuck do you end up at level 70 in an expert roulette dungeon and not know how to tank? I know there are plenty of shit tier healers in the world that get carried by Rez Mages or Summoners. However when a tank can't hold agro in a 4 man that is it, no way to salvage the run. If a tank can't hold agro on 1 fucking enemy with a RDM who isn't even using his Fleche or Contre Sixte on their burst they need to completely reevaluate what the fuck they are doing with their game. If you want to play dress up and ERP that is fine, but don't drag your shit play into a public roulette and fuck it up for others.

Because I love playing RDM. Most of the DPS are fun to play, DRK is fun to solo shit with, WAR is okay for parties. Healers are shit and babbysitting people is not my idea of a good time. RDM though? RDM is just pure fun to play. Working through your rotation and balancing your bar is intuitive and satisfying. You have enough utility that you can play healer if your party falls apart or babbysit someone who can't manage their consumption if you absolutely have to. Being able to pop embolden, catch a buff from a DRG, MNK, SUM, or BRD, and then charge in for a meele combo before backflipping out, throwing Fleche, vernuking the enemy, and seeing it's HP drop like a nigger on bathsalts makes it feel like you actually did something amazing. I played BRD, DRG and SUM a lot. I know that DoTs can do a lot of damage if consistently tended. It's just they can't replaces the satisfaction that comes with pure spikes of burst damage. Red Mages are just fun fun fun. When I play RDM I actually feel like I am this legendary warrior, blessed with amazing gifts and who is the last hope of bringing balances to the myriad worlds lost in this eternal war of light and dark.

That don't sound right anon. I get some connectivity problems when the hunt train is warping across the map, but otherwise everything is fine. This 90002 I had was addressed by the dev team and the particular issue fixed.
If you're getting it very often (outside of hunt train times) and have been for a long time then you should get your internet checked out.
