It was a fun game however it would of been so much better if we had competent HOS, we could of stood a fighting chance. I later out of spite one of our atmos techs flooded it with plasma due to idiots in Head positions.

The wiki that is actually closest to us would be TG pre 2014. What i recommend is to go to https://tgstation13.org/wiki/ then hit HISTORY at the top right of the page you want to look into, selecting 2013 and then selecting the top option in the list that shows up. This should work for like, 80% of the stuff concerning mechanics new players should learn.

Do note that modern TG is far detached from the codebases we are using, which are rather ancient now.

Some of the chems in the chem list that we have are not listed in the TG wiki. However most, if not all of the 2013 chem list WILL work. Also some recipes for chef are also not in the list, you'd have to experiment ingame yourself or ask someone more robust than you for them.

You made a fatal mistake that is CRUCIAL to any mining asteroid murder. Turning off the comms. You just walk over the telecomm equipment on the west wing on the mining station and use your multitool on it. No comms. No calls for help.

You legitimately had a good plan (and original) you just missed that one little part. For your part you probably could have stun+cuffed and removed his headset before he yelled on comms quick enough. Most people panic and don't do it right away.

You had bad luck with a lot of the crew being suited up, everyone maxed on sensors, and everyone being friendly. Setups that get squashed like that are gonna happen some more times before you cover all your vulnerabilities in your tater tot plans.

There's only 2 reasons to play Engineer.

First one is because you want to be helpfull. You'll setup Solars\Singularity so everyone else has power and can keep on playing, you'll repair the station when it breaks down so they can keep playing, etc.

Second reason is to play Minecraft in space. You'll be building shit all over the place and stick to your own autistic projects.

The first reason never keeps you busy the whole round. After setting up power and before there's a hole to patch, you'll have plenty of time to hang around with other people and talk with them. Do that, you'll enjoy it.

The second reason is likely not your problem since it never generates that problem in the first place. You have to be creative and setup goals or objectives for yourself, something neat to build. Like the pizza highway we did some time ago. Interaction with other players isn't required and it might be a detriment even.

But quite frankly, if the job doesn't matter for you, pick Chef, cook something, put it in your cart and go around distributing food.

Or pick Cargo and instead of staying in your Autism Fort, make a bunch of forrms and go around asking every department what they need personally.

Or pick Bartender and actually serve drinks. Or Detective and just act cool around other people.

Player interaction is and always will be the strong suite of this game. Powergaming and severe autism will only entertain you to a certain degree at the cost of making your presence unwanted by everyone else. Just do silly fun shit with other players and you'll never stop having fun.

Talking is as simple as simply going up to someone and asking basic things. It's up to them if they are willing to follow you up, listen or help you out on whatever you want to do.

Engineering always has too little to do so coming up to cargo and requesting them to assist in building an Antimatter or Supermatter engine is always a great way to pass the time and learn something new. Another thing to do as engineer is to go to the bar and redo all the floors with cool strobelight glass floors. Maybe even head to Robotics to replace all your limbs with cybernetic augmentations so you can be a Tech priest inside a Dead Space suit.

It really is up to you on what to do. I can't tell you how, it's something you have to learn while playing. And trust me, the most fun is the road to learning.

I was pretty much on edge the entirety of that round and i'm still stressed out over it, can't even bother joining as assistant for the rest of tonight. Was kinda annoyed, put my ID into the ore redemption machine and the power went out immediately after, tried to get my ID back by breaking down the machine and my ID simply disappeared, when power was finally restored, it was still gone.

Had to break out the cryptographic sequencer to get all access and re-give myself an ID.

If the AI opened the door for you, it could just as well have pressed the button. Unrobust AIs really need to fuck around a lot more with the controls to understand what they can and can't do.

A good AI player is a dangerous force to be reckoned with and one of the most valuable assets for the entire station, turning the little bots into actual useful things and handling atmospheric problems like a boss.

If the AI could directly control MULEs and tag parcels, it could even automate the entirety of Cargo as well.

Semi-regular AI player here.

Using AI control of MULEs, you can order them to move near and pick up crates, and send them to any point where they will then drop the crate off. The only issue becomes the limited powercell of the MULEs which means each gets at most like, 3-4 drop offs and returns before they drain out.

Also a reminder to people playing AI, Silicon in general, or even Engineer: Access any air alarm you're able to go into Scrubber control. Set that shit to filter Toxins and N2, and extend their range. Only YOU can help control a plasma leak.

If you don't setup the singulo quick enough the emitters will drain the smes's. Iirc the emitters pull from the grid not an apc, after ten minutes the SMESs the emitters are sucking empty out on account of every apc on the station trying to pull power from them and the grid is dry. one thing i do if i can't get plasma for the pacman for whatever reason is wire the aft starboard solars right into the grid.

First of all, you're asking a dumb question. It's not how much you need, it's how much you can have. It's a competition to see who can cram the most juice out of their engine, which is why you'll bother with the Engine in ATMOS eventually or try to setup a supermatter shard or an AME. Or all of those things at the same time.

Secondly, there's a "legit" "use" for all that power. Instead of following "regulations" and keeping the engine network separate from the distribution network, connected by the SMES themselves, you can be a boss and hook it all together. The result? Any time anyone is shocked by anything, the damage they get is proportional to the amount of power.

I'm not aware if this damage is capped in this server (that was one of /tg/s nerfs) but before that was implemented, someone could turn into ashes from the sheer amount of electrical power frying him when touching an electrified door. We are talking instead dead here, baby.

But to be honest, you're not going to need all that power simply because the game mechanics aren't geared towards that. You have an highly capacitive system with the APCs battery, the SMES, the department SMES, the Engineering APC, the fuel tanks in the rad Collectors, etc, etc. If you were ever to run out of power, it would be all over the station and after a very long amount of time that anyone could see a problem is happening.

And since power consumption is mostly static since it barely increases beyond the initial station, you're not going to get into such a situation in the first place.

It's a bit of a shame, especially considering how Chemistry is all about converting Power into Chems but no other department follows the same logic or allows variations in this formula.

Slime extract is something you get from processing slimes after killing them.

Slimes are immune to most damage types but very weak against cold, which is why there's an extinguisher around. Just spray them a bit (or in that situation, drag them to space) and they'll die.

After that, I forgot if it's an operation on the table of dropping them in a slime processor that gets you slime extract.

I have that mostly so that cargo can open crates to check the contents of and approve the document so they can get some supply points back. I suppose it could be used to steal things from shipment or just get guns straight away. That would need to be watched by admins I guess. Ideally, what I would have, is a device that can give a readout of a crate's contents without opening it; I would then give a whole bunch to cargo.

Furthermore a paperwork scanner that eats approved or rejected manifests so you can get supply points from them without having to send boxes back. That way you can do all the paperwork and then maybe send the box back for supply points IF the department actually returns it to you.

Dakimakuras ported to nu-tg, later tonight ill finish porting PATRIOTISM flags, advanced chem synth, etc and possibly koriaths shit pools if I really feel benevolent. Circuits are functioning (refs from things are functioning unlike in our current code)

Then ill start tinkering with UI elements for chemistry/cargo/spraycans so we can immediately have no problem using the UI at all, meaning we have no reason not to switch to bigger and better things.

Do not port to nu-tg. Port to hippie instead. Hippie is much better and has own cool features. Like material forge and cass chem. It really is nu-tg but better.

porting to hippie just adds more complexity to backporting our own stuff. Moving "back" to /tg/ as a base then diving head first into nu/tg/ gives both me and the portmastersupreme enough knowledge with how the codebase works and allows us to impliment future fixes much easier.

Also Anon code is a walking shitheap. To whoever was planning to rework it, I suggest scrapping it and changing it to a rolling counter. It worked for me but is suboptimal but most of this code is so EH.
