I had to download Trapt and play on my modded PS2, the game is good and has a lot of music from Deception III, the story is pretty weak and the Hell Knights in that one are a joke, the "difficulty" of the last levels boils down to just being on a small room and your enemies having a few resistances to some trap types, in the end you just have to spam the useful ones while running in circles.

Folklore was honestly pretty awful. It was slow as hell, very grindy and each time you opened the not-pokemon selection menu there was a long loading time. And you opened that menu a lot. It was horribly tedious to play. The design of the two main characters was the best thing about it.

I remember when they first went crazy with censorship some anons had a theory that Sony was planning to make SIE an appealing purchase for Tencent. Sony's main branch makes most of their money from banking and insurance, and over the years they've been liquidating their old businesses to prop up their banking shit.

Folklore had two problems from my experience
1) Having to repeat the same stage twice gets very boring even if you stagger who you progress
2) Combat should have been more differentiated between Keats and Ellen. Keats clearly was designed to be more of the DMC style character, his summons are more built around fast attacks and stand-like entities. He also has a devil trigger form.
Ellen seems more like she should have been the trap-master/area denial character since she regularly summons medium to slow moving creatures that carry out their attacks.
But the end result is that they play mostly the same which wears on you after a while.

Bloodborne is a game that gets mentioned most, but it appears to be worse that Dark Souls. I think consolefags are in denial with this one, trying to avoid buyers remorse. Folklore might have had one of the comfiest hubworlds of any game I've ever played. All of the world's in the game were pretty cool, but I don't think I'd recommend the game based off of atmosphere alone. Any and all side quests meant playing a dungeon you already have to play at least twice. The combat isn't very fluid and once you get a few summons you like you can cheese your way through the game. Dungeons had pathetically simple map design at times, and the story was kind of shit. Still, the game was overall likeable.

I own a Vita so i'm not new to the senran kagura series, but the 3DS games are beat em ups instead of musou style action games and i love beat em ups so i want to give these two a try, i mean what better than having quality tits and ass on your favorite videogame genre? I don't like nintendo shit so buying a $150+ console solely for two games seems stupid, and i refuse to get a cheap second hand 3DS because i am aware most people use it to jerk it to 3D porn so it most likely has had semen all over the screen and i'd like to own the box and manuals as well, most pawnshops don't even bundle the charger.
Same deal with umiharakawase fresh, except the switch is $300+, has hardware defects the dock scratches the screen so i'll have to get a $10 tempered glass screen protector, pathetic battery life and a notoriously shitty dpad that isn't even a fucking dpad, it's 4 separate buttons, i'll have to sink another $140 for hori joycons with a usable dpad AND the pro controller because the horrid battery life means it'll be docked almost all the time and the stock switch """controller""" is ass. I might like the umiharakawase games but not enough to spend $500+ on one of them.
As for cotton i just haven't been able to find a complete saturn locally, and getting a CiB console from amazon plus the game will run me $700 thanks to (((collectors))).
Same deal with JSRF, the game itself is cheap but some xbox models have trouble rendering smilebit's games which take up like 90% of the worthwhile xbox catalog no games and good luck finding one of the first revisions complete in box, there's still hope though, xbones are stupid cheap and microsoft is probably going to make JSRF backwards compatible this year.

PCSX2 has done most of what I want it to. Hardware mode might occasionally be glitchy when games use certain kinds of filters, texture transparency doesn't always work right and things like low shadow resolution and bad lighting/shadows on the edges of textures are more obvious, but other than that, I'm playing whatever PS2 title I want at 6x or 8x native resolution with savestates.

I was able to get a copy with a controller really cheap because one of the LEDs in the controller quit working. Easily one of the most badass games. It's actually dependent on using the user manual like old school PC games. Your character is just a tech for the mechs and the base gets attacked while you are servicing one so you have to learn how to fight on the fly. The permadeath mechanic is awesome too, if you don't eject before you explode your save file gets erased and you have to make a new pilot.

There are a lot of smaller or less known titles that are probably pretty good, but got overshadowed by other games due to lack of marketing and sales.
I don't know where to look for them and I figure there are plenty of JP only titles that were never released to the west.
At this point I'm considering buying used PS3 vidya in bulk and hopefully stumbling upon quality.
