So, this just dropped.
Graphically, it looks much better than I expected and definitely better than New'n'Tasty.
However, I don't like this epik Hollywood vibe they seem to be going with. I know this is tehcnically not the story of Exoddus, but rather the 'expanded reimagining', which is supposed to bring the game closer to its supposedly 'original vision'.
However, I can't help but feel they're gonna George Lucas it up a notch.

Webmed. It's even called "glimpse of a cinematic", so it isn't even a full cinematic. The thematic that was wanted to explore was the actual impact of a revolution. With Rupture Farms going kablooey, the higher ups aren't going to be looking for a mudoken, they are going to look at Mullug and wonder what the fuck he fucked up because they have no concept of a single mudoken fucking up the status quo, they only know that with the farm gone ,it's fucking up their easy living and so they instantly start pointing fingers and pinning blame, but usually only to those who they can actually see.

Odyssey had one cinematic to start the game, one when you escape the factory, One when you get out of the fields and learn your sacred goal, one when you get into scarabania, one when you finish scarabania, one when you enter paramonia, one when you beat paramonia, and then the ending cinemaitc.
This is a total of 7/8 through the entire game with one cinematic being different if you got the good or bad ending.
Exodus has a substantially long intro cinematic and several though the course of the game.

I said, little, not no place. The game itself, with the way it plays, and how it looks can convey information a lot more smoothly than just having it as a cutscene. They were rare enough to know shit was going down. I love the first two games but that was about it for me. I think this is a series that probably would be best if it stayed 2D and just about Abe saving Mudakon. I guess they could create an interesting 3D game but a lot of what made the first two games great to me was the atmosphere and pseudo horror theme it had. A 3D game would likely have things like a hud with clean children's cartoon graphics which ruins immersion and that dark world the original two games had going. I'm keeping my eye on this one but what I seen of New n Tasty kind of disappoints so never cared to play that.
