I have both that I got in bundles for cheap, but I haven't installed them yet because it's 50GB for one, and 80GB for the other. I don't know if I want to dedicate a tenth of my HDD for a time to two games, and I don't have the internet bandwidth to be pulling down such large games on a whim.

Get 2 since its MP is more lived, if you want to play reliable have player to play coop with.

If you want a solo skaven-based experience, get shadow of the horned rat or warsword conquest instead

If you want to play multiplayer but don't want to bring friends, know that in VT2 quickplay is full of retards and the gear climb is much more incremental, while VT original has much more pronounced jumps in the power of your equipment and is mostly ded outside of The Tower of Magnus
