Because these games have a low number of players, plus they are pretty niche without excelling at anything.

That being said it's still enjoyable, I just beat 3 and I enjoyed it's story and characters more than 2. It was too easy still, but I do go back to it from time to time trying to get those 3% drop rates.

They are going to be updating it with more content for free so hopefully that fixes some things. Builds are pretty fucked currently though and I doubt they are going to fix it.

I would open up a room but the game is still region locked for some fucking reason so the online is fucking dead.

GE is very different from MH, it follows the same template but does something else.

At some points GE3 even feels like DMC-light, if you're playing with shortsword you pretty much just never touch the ground.

God eater 3 is the only god eater game made for a non-portable platform, right? i believe all of the others are portable games or portable games remastered for non-portable platforms.

From what i've gathered God eater was a PSP game

Then God eater burst was just a definitive edition of God eater.

Then God eater 2 was a sequel on the vita.

Then later they came out with god eater 2 rage burst, which was just god eater 2 with some extra content, but remastered and ported to ps4.

Then God eater resurrection which is just God eater burst (which is just God eater 1), but remastered and ported onto ps4.

Then God eater 3 came out recently, and i believe it's only on PS4/PC and was made for PS4 and ported to PC so it doesnt have the appearance and limitations of a game made for PSP/Vita

correct me if i'm wrong.

I plan on playing this on PC, does anyone know if the port is stable? does this game stand on its own?

The game isn't very heavy, It may not be made for a handheld but it still looks early ps3 quality wise. So it would be a fucking colossal disaster if that thing didn't run fine.

For some reason it runs like a mess on the PS4 with the framerate jumping all over the place.

It's like it's fucking opposite day.

I forgot to mention that all of the GE games are available on PC, they ported the first two in a pack. Though I would honestly argue that gameplay wise 3 is vastly improved.

i mean, thats typical for a fairly small japanese dev team. im assuming its along the lines of quality as an atelier game? i mean, god eater 1/2 on PS4 look like shit nomatter what the settings/framerate because of the base game. im assuming this atleast looks better than those, and based on the screenshots i've seen, it is. pics related.

I haven't gotten to GE3 yet (I'm still playing Resurrection and then later GE2RB) but I gotta say, I did not expect this to have a lot of cutscenes but I'm surprised. It's not perfect I mean it's kind of weeb schlock but I like how Aragami are derived from mutated humans also it's funny that they kept in the boob scene that was censored in GEB

Kanon is a completely different character from her JP counterpart, every time I had to listen to her I wonder what the fuck were they thinking.

Her personality doesn't even make sense when her side quests show up.

I'm glad that right now people pay closer attention to localization issues because this used to happen a lot on small games like these and it would piss me off.

It still happens but at least people are much more aware of it now, and usually against it.

I spent hours hunting down the pre-localization translation patch for the PSP God Eater, but ended up not even wanting to play it after hearing descriptions of it. Still, figured I'd post what I found. In my search, I saw many retarded normalfags out there saying "lol what patch? it was localized, there is no patch, why would you want a patch? :^)" or suggesting a buggy incomplete undub, but I found much evidence to the contrary, fucking faggots. In fact, I found the damn patch. Unfortunately, like multiple fan translated psp games, a patched iso isn't enough. Even worse, and unlike others, it doesn't patch savedata or memstick install files or whatever, it requires a plugin that swaps out files on the fly with the patched versions, which means it can't be emulated in PPSSPP. There are supposedly tools for "package.rdp" to pack/unpack the files, that may or may not be too buggy to create a working emulation-friendly iso, but they've vanished off the face of the internet it seems. I tried everything, and haven't found the tool. Damn you, random scenefag.

If anyone else is interested in having a go, or simply in playing it on a hacked psp, here are the files:

Keep in mind it was meant for an older cfw psp, so you may not need to follow instructions on patching the iso to run on your psp and can just do a clean iso or something on a more modern setup. I don't know much about it.

Anyone wishing to take this pursuit further, I would suggest looking at the God Eater 2 translation project and its revival on gbatemp in the last search results, it seems to use the same data format. Maybe they have a copy of the tool, or even better, have a different but superior tool that will do it. If that doesn't work out, I recommend checking both the wayback machine and cachedviews when coming across broken links, and checking non-jewgle search engines (especially chink or slav ones) as well as site-specific search engines. Might want to try alternate file-sharing networks as well, like ed2k, if you come across a file name. But it may be that anti-localization emulatorfags are just fucked without someone to hack that shit.
