UPDATE: Anons have experienced shady happenings with IGG (e.g. miners and shady extra files that served no purpose in terms of running the games), and they're from Vietnam.

We prefer danknet magnets links, not that shitty clearnet shit like bittorents and IPFS.

>Bypassing Mega's bandwith quota

MegaDownloader + github.com/dannyvoid/FNSRWR or mega-dl (megatools) and a proxy.%>!,-space, https://mega.co.nz/result

Guide to a happy Share Thread

Leechers

1. Before requesting, search online and even use distributed search engines e.g.InfraSearch,Opencola,YaCy,FAROO. See below for famous links.

2. Look first in the archives and volafile.

3. Be as specific as possible. If you have the cover art of the file you want, post it in both the share thread and in vola room.

4. Due to asshats in the thread, links to files will be purposely misleading (have spaces, lines, keys&passwords split in the post),including torrent hashes.

If you see a string of characters (e.g. c12fe1c06bba254a9dc9f519b335aa7c1367a88a) with or without dashes, it is a magnet link.

If your bittorrent is shit, prepend magnet:?xt=urn:btih: to the string.

a. Find and Replace (sed/tr/awk) is your friend.

Uploaders

1. When in doubt;upload, ask questions later.

2. Upload to many alternative sources (5+) and keep a local copy if space permits.

3. Use a URL shorterner (spaced or split) and/or paste relinks (e.g zerobin.net) on file links to confuse bots.

4. Encrypt your uploads now with a password, key, or generator.Rename the files something random, even their checksums.Maybe even pad files to the nearest GB or so,to confuse bots.

5. If your connection is stable,it is extremely advisable to self host. Using anonymity tools like Freenet,I2P,Gnunet,distributed NNTP or MixMinion/Mixmaster.

Volafile volafile.org/r/HF33Go

1. Before uploading a batch of miscellaneous files,e.g images and music be sure they are unique enough to stand on their own and that you ask for the majority's the consensus whether to upload the files individually.

2. Vola room owner edit- Upload 5 files and then zip the rest if the dump is larger then 6-7 files. Music Albums exceeding 5 files are to be zipped. When uploading .torrent, either add them to the a zip of the game or just don’t upload those misc files.Properly label files so that they can be identified without asking someone else. For lewd stuff with filenames like RJ74765 either add a .txt linking to the contents on a website or just add the title to the .txt e.g "BIG BOOTY WOMEN SIT ON SHOTA FACE (RJ34734)".

3. You can filter files by file type (.txt, .rar, etc) or search the file list with the bar hidden by the filter files button.

a. When in doubt, archive as a single [or split if too large],then upload.

Just curious because I've ran into dead mega links from months ago that are still being listed.

E.C.M.4 has an older adobe version with it that may allow it to work (doesn't for me still). E.C.M.5 should have no problems. 5th webm related.

I've been playing Zero-K recently. It's basically Total Annihilation plus minus some mechanics.

Has a campaign mode that only somewhat slightly scratches that desire I had to play Planetary Annihilation. Spring is janky, but it has otherwise been pretty stable.

I'm pretty bummed about it, though. It seems like the game is tierless, but it tries to fill in the blanks with some semi-supcom elements like mexer overdrive and power grids.

Campaign is pretty comfy, though. You get to (slowly) upgrade your commander between missions. The levels themselves try to highlight the advantages of their specific theme unit, but most of the time the levels are a matter of building up a line of assaults and then going and fucking killing the dude.

It's pretty essential to unlock Caretakers ASAP though.

I don't think this article is really worth taking seriously. It's calling account sharing between family members possibly even in the same household piracy, and the $192 million figure is if everyone bought an individual account. Their definition of piracy is extremely jewish, and it seems like an intentionally misleading title in several ways.

I think I'll be able to a bunch done today. I just need to crop and adjust the leveling a little.

Anon, I ruined it. I fucking ruined it. I tried, and tried, and tried, but my folks' shitty scanner would NOT stop auto-cropping the fucking scans. The scanner can't do RAW data, the pngs it shits out look horribly greyed, and I don't think there will be any saving it. I wanted to make a good torrent, I really did, but it's just fucked. I did successfully rip the FLAC audio, but these are so bad I don't think they're even worth including, because it might discourage some other better scanner from doing a better job. Here's some of the scans resized in paint before I go in and rotate/crop them in Krita later, but I'll likely only update the pictures here, and the music torrent will sit on Nyaa Pantsu after I triple check all of the tags.

Wish I could've done better - even just those crappy scans I did get took hours because of repeated bad runs Updating the printer drivers and firmware in the hopes I could turn the auto-crop feature off took almost 40 minutes because the printer was so slow at updating itself, and even then, it was ultimately not capable of not-cropping them. It was so frustrating wanting professional levels of control and not having it, that I knew I'd ruin the debinding process. I'll cool off one day and debind/scan the interview/art book and upload it to the same site, the only thing that sucks is even still, nobody will ever translate it. I know I get lots of jap seeders on my torrents (as I'm sure you do on your uploads) so they do deserve the content.

I didn't insert "LTSC" in there for nothing. LTSC is their LTSB build but 2019. Disabling everything was basically default. If microsoft wasn't always the biggest jew company for software we would have the ability to dark mode windows 7. But we don't.

Sorry, even windows 7 is just as bad as the best linux distros.

Don't hate me, windows 7-tan.

As a former datacenter employee I'm ashamed that I didn't think of the troubleshooting downsides. With every problem, you may find solutions that work in other distros, but rarely yours, and yes, ESPECIALLY with Linux, it's never that you will get advice on configuring the software you want to use, it's, "You should completely abandon that software and use this entirely diffent and wholly unstable software because it is ethical to do so." It's obviously not the same as SJW-ism, but it's still proselytizing.

All of pros of CLI are resource based, and if a GUI is programmed poorly, it might use a couple hundred MB. A list of switches with checkboxes and/or dropdown menus next to them is INFINTELY more efficient than

command /?
, reading the list, memorizing the chain of switches you need, and typing them all out. It just makes no fucking sense at all today, unless of course you're a small project where CLI is a development-side resource limitation, which is completely okay. Terry should have fucking lived forever, but god damn if he wasn't the martyr that /tech/ truly deserves, because Stallman is ironically the one /g/ does - unemployed, communist, and autistic. There is literally no reason to use a GUI. The advantages provided by a CLI isn't just resource based. You can do shit that GUIs can, like running shell scripts for automation or piping programs into each other. A GUI program basically provides a slower way of using the flags that you'd use in a CLI program. If you can't remember flags, use an autocomplete framework. And if you're a low IQ monkey nigger who absolutely cannot use a command line, you can instead use a TUI which can pretty much do anything a GUI can without the bloat.

Lack of time and desire to become deeply proficient with the inner workings of every utility you want to run is certainly one of them. I have 782 folders in my backup "Installers" directory for utilities I use. Most of them have been very specific ones for single use-cases, and a GUI shows me several options simultanously, usually with the options I need in very plain sight.

>A GUI program basically provides a slower way of using the flags that you'd use in a CLI program

If and only if you have invested the time and have the desire to learn all of the flags. There is no way that reading a list, then manually typing the desired option is faster that reading a list then clicking a button. I fucking guarantee you I can click "Next" faster than you can type apt get -whatever the fuck, and that's without investing any time familiarizing myself with the program. Don't get me wrong: CLI can be VERY useful and is VERY powerful in many use cases, especially with file management, but the argument that typing out the string to copy one directory to another takes less time and energy to learn, type, and use than "drag and drop" does is simply ridiculous - that is, worth of ridicule.

>not giving up encryption keys.

Protip: The FBI never actually asked Apple to give up encryption keys. They were too busy demanding a means of unencrypting the phone in question to bother asking how it was encrypted so that they could reverse the process for themselves. Apple also didn't refuse to give up a decryption program, they simply explained that they didn't have such a thing because its existence would defeat the purpose of having encryption in the first place.

The media decided that meant they were fighting for user privacy because the tech-oriented parts of major publications were screaming at the political op-ed writers to do exactly that, because that would mean that each one of them stood to gain favorable treatment from Apple when it came time to release information about the latest Apple iFuckitwhocares EleventybillionX. This should not surprise anyone, as most media has been reduced to an advertising conglomerate with a thin veneer of objectivity.

PC's pirating culture is fucking terrible and needs an overhaul. I've said this before but it bears elaboration and repetition, and better yet, an improved methodology on the part of uploaders.

- Historically there were sites for downloading cracks and keygens and the like but necessitated a copy of the game be obtained elsewhere. This is a good thing because it means the cracks can update independently of the game instead of a massive re-download, and also validation of a game vs. a crack or modification. And speaking of that.

- Start checksumming files with SHA256 and database them. At the moment all bets are off with mirrors, or even originals. GOG uploads are the easiest place to start because they distribute as installers and don't have DRM. So regardless of where you get these from (GOG included) all you need is a checksum that has been validated by other people, and you're golden to know if someone's fucked it in the ass. A web of trust is the only way to have security.

The first is unlikely because it seems to have fallen out at the sources of game cracks, but the latter could definitely happen here. So once again, repeating my GOG checksums.

Any program of the sort in the gnu coreutils should be able to output it with the –tag option.

Building a database should be easy, just a text file with each line containing a single file and everything is sorted alphabetically. The user can then Ctrl-F or grep. To aid with look ups when many algorithms are in use, list the hash algorithms currently used in the file at the head.

That's trying? That is pathetic. A couple of autism-fueled hours beats that by a country mile! In any case I don't care about lazy people. I only care about people that want to make sure their games are clean copies.

>404 links can probably be just replaced with (dead) or something like that, it's not like history ever gets lost with Git.

Yes that is exactly what I had mind and is what an another anon suggested.

>Somehow the output file got created before the globbing so it's included in the list. Just delete that line.

Noted.

I'm pretty sure that's not it, might have been someone on a private tracker just providing a DAT with his own GOG torrent.

As for the scene release I was wrong, turns out it's just redump having hashes for untouched PC disc dumps (under IBM PC compatible on their site), quite a big chunk of them actually

I will eventually want commit permissions if I have to fix a lot. Also, why not upload the scripts to the Git if they're useful to people? My repo is full of random shit like that.

>>16230985

It's not an official DAT but it's still pathetic.

Where would I look to download lossless sound libraries? I've been searching for the Hanna Barbera one (https://www.sound-ideas.com/Product/409/hanna-barbera-sound-effects-library/) and anything from Fizz Sound Creation/Hidenori Arai.

Alright. An initial list of hashes is up covering a fair mixture of games.

https://gitgud.io/Blank/stv/raw/m/GOG.sha256

To use or generate these, on Windows you can use this. I've not used this program personally but CentOS points to it for validation of its ISOs so it should be fine.

https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/hash_my_files.html

BSD, Linux (and possibly Mac OS X users) should have the CLI tool "sha256sum" but there's probably other similar UIs for people on those platforms too if desired.

So OP can probably crush this info into the pasta. Also I can start on link verification. Any particular place you want me to start? I'm only familiar with Mega, Dropbox, Google Drive mind. I've never used things like IPFS, and yeah, upload/link your tools too if they aren't Windows-only. Otherwise I can just check by hand.

I have already baked it into the OP pasta and uploaded the bash scripts (GNU/LINUX is my primary OS and I used to dual boot for viyda before Windows lead to the death of both HDD's MBR's. Starting at PC would not be a bad idea, as it most likely contains the largest amount of links.

Oh nice, Mega can have / in filenames and megadl chokes on those because not even Linux can use that.

Good idea anon, what should we do with non-GOG games though?

Seeing as repacks and different cracks are a thing I was thinking that in those cases we could recursively hash the files in the game folder
