I haven't won any tournaments because I've been playing other shit. I've played Smash on and off though. I like Piranha Plant and I've decided to add him to my mains list.

The next fighter isn't going to be Erdrick. I'm not saying this because I don't want him in, I'm sure there's Dragon Quest fans who'd be happy if he did get in, but he's not getting in. All the "evidence" is circumstantial.
The next fighter is Wonder Red. Calling it now.
Joker's moveset will likely have several different Personas that alter the effects his attacks have and none of them will be Mara.

I've only played in a couple Smash 4 tournaments at a local game store and got my ass handed to me both times. First fight I SD'd because I was shaking and panicking so much. Second time I was so close to beating a Dedede, he was at over 150%, but he got me in a pseudo-wobble I couldn't get out of and up-tilted me out of the tournament.

Jokes aside, "Brave" is on its own enough and I'd be saying confirmed even if it was the only reason to speculate. This should be obvious to people posting on the most popular alternative to an old Japan-centric imageboard, but Brave (capital B) is the way that most Japanese translate Yuusha/勇者; this is a synonym for brave as in 'brave man'. To find 'Brave' in the files is gibberish without context, but while Yuusha/勇者 is a very Chinese phrase and antiquated and it was not in common parlance for a long time, it is also sometimes used to translate 'Hero'. This is not actually the most appropriate word for hero, that honor is Eiyu/英雄, which is more like 'great man'. However, as English (the language) first invaded Japan and the idea of a western hero was conveyed and the first dictionaries were penned, for some reason it was interpreted as 'brave man' as one might have seen in military histories, so when referring to western heroes Yuusha became predominant; this was quickly corrected.
What does shit translations/localization have to do with Dragon Quest, anyway?
Westaboos. Always Westaboos. When the blatant westaboos at Enix&co first set out to make their take on RPGs set in not!Europe and not!DnD, "the hero" was made "the Yuusha/勇者", a terming that has stuck ever since. The franchise and the Yuusha/勇者 are inseparable at this point; its massive influence in Japan reinvigorated the phrase and while use is more common/dilute these days, were you to ask an old enough Jap why they wanted to use it, they'd point towards Dragon Quest. This is to the point that the japanese wiki article for Brave as Yuusha actually cites Dragon Quest as the primary use.
This is just from Brave, with all of the other things in favor there's no way a DQ hero isn't in, Erdrick or not.
So far as 'Braves' go, Wonder Red or any of the other Wonders have literally never been referred to as a '勇者' in official content. While searching for such a thing I found more Dragon Quest content on accident. Let the chances of that sink in.
Also, the other 3 should be Captain Rainbow, policeman/woman with matching chained mechas, and James Bond, ideally revealed in quick succession for maximal asspain.

Joker will be a hybrid between Shulk and Pokemon Trainer where he will switch between Arsene, Jack Frost and Pixie. When he attacks properties and certain actions will change depending on what Persona is being used. For example Joker will get a better recovery if Pixie is being used, however the recovery won't be as good if Jack Frost is active. Although you change persona's by holding down the special move button rather than pressing down special. pressing the special button will initiate Ehia, Bufu or Zio, side special will be a few pistol shots, down special is the mask attack where Joker would throw a character and then rip off their face. Obviously he does not rip off their actual face in this game.

He's not, which is exactly my point - "Brave" is not a name, it's a heavily associated title. Jack as in Jack Frost, who is the series placeholder and internal reference for Joker, because they don't intend to include more SMT-related characters if they do use Jack as the series icon and only include a Persona character I look forward to the shitstorm. Brave as in Brave, which is the DQ series' most likely placeholder (the Hero icon from the first three games, pic related) and internal reference for whichever hero or hero(es) they include. If anything the fact they use Brave instead of Slime may mean that there's some gimmick or concept to the DLC that meant the Braves were more important than mascot padding.
It's good to keep in mind that "Piranha Plant" for example is not in fact named "Packu", which is its internal reference, and the other characters follow this pattern of nicknames, so it's unlikely Joker or the DQ Hero would be an exception.

Generic enemies have more versatility than bosses when they're from a setting where those generic enemies have multiple traits applied to them as the series progresses. Just from SMB1 to SMB3 you get enough to work with to make a generic Piranha Plant a viable character. What can you get out of Petey to make an entire moveset? Fuck all the Pichu faggotry. With how weird Dedede's aerial hitboxes are and with how slow everything he does is, this faggot pokemon is a fucking nightmare. Thankfully almost nobody plays him anymore.
Let's not forget Ness, fuck Ness. I can beat him, but I never have any fun doing so unless he's really retarded and I can fuck him up hard.

I don't mind Zelda having Farore's Wind, Din's Fire and Nayru's Love, but I think the Phantom Knight is a stretch. They should give her Impa bodyguard assist if anything, since that's more generic to most zeldas. They could've given her a skin for each zelda (so SS zelda gets SS impa, OOT zelda gets OOT impa, and ST zelda gets a phantom knight). Would've made more sense.
Also her fair and bair need to be remade into something else. Zelda is a glass canon with gimpy moves. Give her some reliable, consistent moves for a floaty character such as her. Meanwhile mewtwo, another floaty, gets more wait, better lingering, and more weight on aerials.

Why did they make it so fucking annoying to get all the spirits?
I figured that once I 100%'d story mode and finished all the challenges, I would have unlocked all the artwork and shit. But unfortunately for me (and everyone else that is attempting this) both of those methods together only unlock about half of the 1300 total. For the rest, you need to use the Spirit Board and Summon. You can only get Fighter Spirits by playing classic mode or buying them from the normal shop with gold.
At first it was entertaining, since the board would constantly be populated with ones I needed and I had a shitload of items to refresh it when there weren't. But when there are fewer and fewer for you to get, you start consuming the items faster and faster and eventually you run out. Even when you replace them or buy more, you use them within a couple minutes. Then it's the most FUCKING BORING shit you can imagine.
Because they decided to run the board on a fucking gacha timer you just have to wait for it to repopulate. When it you open it for the first time in a day it seems to try and give you something new that you need, but after that the algorithm stalls you out for hours at a time. You just have to wait like you're playing a shitty mobile freemium game for the content that's arbitrarily locked away from you. The content that there's NO OTHER FUCKING WAY TO GET!
I only have 4 spirits left. I have been leaving the console open every moment I've been free, looking at this fucking spirit board out of the corner of my eye, for a week.

Don't dismiss spirits. The board and shops are inclined to give you spirits you do not currently possess. (almost?) Every spirit has a board battle as well, and the game additionally tracks which ones youve actually beaten with a CLEAR flag on its splash screen.
Summoning is a nefarious jewpanese tactic to further fuck up your board progress. You want the little number in the top right of the spirit board to match your SpiritDex count, since thats how many unique spirits you currently own. It includes masters and fighters.
Obviously it wont help you, but I recommend checking the board for unowned spirits, then playing classic mode or something, then back to the board. It wont take much to get new ones as long as you don't go dismissing anything.
Also, if you do intend to actually own all spirits at one time and see that 1303 on the board, youll have to replay certain adventure bosses. Dracula and Marx are enhanceables and only obtainable in the story. Dracula 2nd Form and Rathalos are supports you might've dismissed for being duplicate abilities.

There are $20 adapters that emulate the inputs for a wired pro controller on ps4, xbone, and wii u controllers. It only works with one controller at a time though. I bought one of both pics related. The Mayflash is kind of fucky with its wireless mode, but its wired mode works well enough and probably has less input lag than a wireless option. The 8 bit one looks faggy and doesn't have a wired mode, but its wireless mode hasn't had any issues so far and it supports motion controls with a ps4 controller.

Didn't kill as Wario is heavy but it was fancy af and pure improv. But it gave me an idea for a more thorough punish involving the same principle, except I currently have no clue how to squeeze in a regular turnip in that sequence yet. Against Olimar you need to get rid of the pikmin he puts on you quickly. The problem is they like to punish the lag on any move you throw out to clear the pikmin off of yourself. You can stay safe by either being far enough away that they can't punish you or close enough that the cleansing attack hits Olimar too. If you choose to get close using a spaced disjoint is pretty important because Olimar's punishing grabs and smashes are really scary. If you're playing the long ranged game make sure to pick a character that can actually get projectiles through the pikmin wall.
Marth Olimar isn't that mobile and spacing is key so tipper blade is probably better. seems like a good representative for the close ranged option while Richter You don't want simon's fire holy water because red a gpikmin are fire immune. is an ideal long ranged option. I don't have much Lucario experience, but I think he seems like a potential hard counter to Olimar. He gets more range and more damage the higher his percent, and Olimar is great at damage racking and somewhat limited in kill options. As long as you are using your aura enhanced range properly and being really mindful of grabs you should be able to live for a really long time. Additionally, His aura sphere charging seems like a good option to cleanse pikmin while not wasting time whiffing attacks or leaving yourself vulnerable, and you can even trigger your counter with the latched pikmin damage ticks as an offensive mix up. Make sure you have good DI as Lucario because your high % survival is really important.
Whoever you choose you should make sure you are familiar with Olimar. His pikmin all have different abilities: blue makes Olimar's throws go about 2x as far and makes his up throw kill at about 110% on a normal weight; yellow hits 1.5x farther than normal; red hits 1.5x more damage than normal; white does a ton of latch damage and is thrown farther when used as a projectile, but it deals less damage and knockback from regular attacks and throws; Purple have more health, knockback, and damage, and instead of latching on when thrown they deal flat damage and knock you back. His up smash is a combo starter that does a lot of shield damage and gives him a frame advantage when not parried. His up air chains into itself, and he can use platforms as combo extenders. If one of his smashes clinks with one of your attacks the pikmin suffers the lag instead of Olimar so he can immediately follow up with another smash attack while you're still immobile. All of his smash attacks are projectiles and can be reflected if you know when they're coming. If he has no pikmin and is in the air he can only use his Nair. His recovery is worse the more pikmin weight he has purples in particular can make it so he can't even go upwards so Olimar usually throws pikmin at the stage before using his recovery. His whistle has super armor so he will sometimes use it to power through a telegraphed attack or as a pseudo airdodge off stage. It's other function is to shuffle pikmin so you might want to watch out for a blue grab attempt or purple smash if you see him use it otherwise.

Samus just doesn't quite feel like Samus to me, her moveset is dull, Samus lacking a lot of her various amount of Beams, like the ice beam, wave beam, spazer beam, Plasma beam, etc. I understand that she can't have every move from her games, but not any of these, really? I mean after MegaMan where every attack is from his from one of previous games I don't think their is much of an excuse on why she's so limited, I'm just going to list off some things that could help spice up Samus's moveset
1.) Space Jump Give 1 additional jump in the air.
2.) Charge Beam Make it her Forward Smash, kinda like MegaMan's. Holding her forward smash and pushing down will cause Samus to scatter morph ball bombs instead like Super Metroid
3.) Ice Beam Just make it her new Neutral B.
4.) Back Air should be a short melee blast from the arm cannon instead of kick.
5.) Up Air can be the Wave Beam, it can work kinda like Rosalina's up air, but it pushes Samus once used.
6.) Down Smash can be the Plasma Beam but she strikes the ground in in front and behind her causing large bursts to erupt from the ground.
7.) Side B can stay mostly the same, but maybe add ice missiles, and change the property of them instead of the slow homing missile it just fires out and goes straight forward, super missile can ether stay the same, or make it something the comes out at random but has much more powerful, it can have shorter range, but also travels faster.
8.)Down Air can can just be a rapid blast from her cannon, the Mii Gunner's Forward Smash comes to mind on how it would work, just downward.
9.) Jab can go ether way, it could be a pea shooter like MegaMan, or Samus just slams her arm cannon right from the get go and the final hit would be replaced with a less powerful version of her old Forward Smash.
10.) I believe the Dash attack is already supposed to be the speed booster, but just give some longer range, and make it look more speed boosty and call it a day.
11.) Side Taunt is Samus giving a Thumbs Up
I don't think I much of a right to complain sense I got Ridley and Dark Samus, but these are just a few suggestions from the top of my head that I think could make Samus more interesting.
I would like to hear what anyone else thinks could be added to make Samus a little better in smash.
One last thing change the suit, I don't mind Other M suit to much, but it's kind of just boring to look at it's to plain and it feels like your playing as a version of Samus who hasn't even obtained the Long Beam yet. I know this a pipe dream but make light suit an actual alt, along with the Phazon suit, Fusion suit, and for fun throw in the power suit without it's upgrades just because I think it would look little fun to see that suit using every ability equipped

Truthfully, lots of characters need kit overhauls, Samus and Pikachu included. Kirby is still using his super outdated kit from 64 and even the devs realized how shit it was to the point where they arbitrarily made his dash attack and down+B kill moves out of pity.
But you know how Sakurai feels about "arbitrarily changing movesets". Smash is a series where you can't ever change or correct anything because Sakurai feels it would ALIENATE everyone who is used to having it a certain way. Therefore mistakes never get fixed, Ganondorf is still a Falcon clone, there are a million Marths, Dr. Mario is still an alternate character instead of a skin.
There is a point where it becomes arbitrary to keep things the same and Smash is way beyond that, but Sakurai isn't going to change it because he's an autist.

Link's appearance in BotW is highly customizable, but thanks to Smash Ultimate, I finally figured out what his "default" look should be while you're playing BotW.

1)Screw Attack is fine, but I think they mid-air jump should be like in super metroid (forward air-rolling) or space jump-like. Your idea of a second mid-air jump with space jump if timed properly would be fine though, just make sure its not OP so have to give her a weakness somewhere if she has 2 mid-air jumps
2) Disagreed with this one. It's a shitty gimmick. I think B shoudl be Charge Beam, and if you press down twice (down again from crouching) you do the morph ball scatter. Holding B should be charge beam instead of the current Meme ball B. It could also be slightly homing, like in the games. NOt much damage or knockback like the current B but slightly homing, quick to charge, not muhc knockback but considerable damage and stun, can chase or combo out of that stun.
3) Ice Beam should be a different beam, like Project M did, just switch beams with Taunts. Instead of stun it freezes in place, and if in the air it works like PK Freeze horizontal launch
4)like mii gunner? sure, mii gunner has a good backair easier to land too
5) I can see wave beam like ness' Up air with the gun
6) Plasma Beam is the thicc beam, so I think it would be better as an up smash, instead of the generic explosion she can aim upwards and a geyser of lava can come out, 2 hits, canon going up then lava.
7)The issue with missiles si the ridiculous recovery time of the ability. It needs to be faster to deploy and be able to move out of it, at least for normal missiles. I think Ice missiles should be in if you switch to Ice with taunt.
8) should be like super metroid when shooting down, can angle it to the sides. The beam of choice can be tested. Plasma should be good here.
9)Samus is a zoner so her jab should be a "get out of here" option, a quick shove with her hands then into pushing with buster (can only do shove, if you press you do the elbow strike with canon) The current jab is shit because it doesnt connect well
10) they need to make it combo again, make it faster too, or at least let it grab some nice max speed the more she runs
