I'm cautiously looking forward to Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries. Even though Pirahna are kikes, they made a good game very accurate to CBT mechanics that is only limited by their shitty business model with MWO. Logically, if they made a game that uses the same fundamentals but without the F2P aspect and with a Mercenaries campaign, it should be good. But I am waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Primaris marines are bigger. Jump Assault primaris autocannon suit looks like a zaku II. Terminators are mini mechs… and Dreadnaughts can be considered one. The ladder makes for great gameplay.

Artist did it for aesthetics, usually the robot would be laying on its back for transportation, and especially enclosed to hide what was being transported. Also I am tired of having fingers be the actuator for a huge weapon, it should just be electrically hard-connected to the arm. Just venting and passing time, no need to reply.

Played with it recently during breaks when learning programming at a govt. owned and funded technical school. It had a pc loaded to the brim with emulators of all sorts, from nes to turbografix, saturn, ps1, etc.
It had one mech game that I can't find anywhere now, maybe one of you knows about it
It was a Mech FPS game in the Saturn, ran like shit but was pretty fun. You moved around a (rather small) city that was being invaded by robots, tanks, possibly an army, I can't remember. I don't think the game officially left Japan. It was vector graphics for the mechs, vehicles and models and the terrain was poorly textured.

What I want to see in a Mech game.
+Build your own mech
-There are no wrong builds
-When damage increases, speed decreases allowing players to tailor the mech to a more mobile dodge-centric playstyle or a more I-ARE-TANK bulldoze-all-the-things playstyle
-1 Special ability available for your mech that you choose from a list; including high-damage proximity mine giving the high-speed-low-damage mechs a burst damage tool, and a thruster boost giving low-speed-high-damage mechs some mobility. More balanced mechs may want to use more utility focused abilities. Also abilities that play to a balanced approach's strength, like AoE's that do damage in line with your normal damage output (so it would do the most damage on the high-damage-low-speed mechs but you will not reliably be able to hit more than 1 or 2 enemies with it; whilst its damage is too low to really be worth taking on the high-speed-low-damage mechs)
-Essentially the idea is that no mech build is useless and each have their strengths and weaknesses
-Hidden bonuses in the levels that require you to have high-damage to break through walls, or high speed to win races, and so on; to encourage replaying levels with a different mech builds
-Basically I'm a whore for 'create-a-character' but always got mad that there was always an objectively superior build, or else has everything do the exact same thing making your aesthetic choices feel pointless; I want a game that encourages me to try out different builds that feel different and play different, which allows me to swap at the end of each level to try out another, and has different secrets that are only accessible by utilising the strengths of the various builds to ensure maximum game-exploration and replayability
Plz.

I always thought the way it should work for real settings is to have non-attachable firearms developed for use by the mechs have like a cable that connects via the fingers, or some other means of direct interface, with a manual trigger serving as an alternative backup option. So if for example, your mech is made by a different manufacturer with a connection method that's incompatible with the rifle you just scavenged, or if the weapon is damaged or hacked or something and the electrical systems fail, or if for whatever other reason your mech is unable to establish a direct connection to the weapon, you can still have a fighting chance. Definitely what I would do if I ever made any kind of game or whatever.

there are some minor connections to 4 but you wont be lost or anything if you just jump into 4a

any mech games out there with good story?

Titanfall 2
its nothing groundbreaking but it does the "Man and his Mech" story it sets out to do well
>Mechwarrior 4 Mercs
Well good campaign more than "story" the Story is relegated to background lore and Mission Details but there is a more personal story of your character and his lance by the end they could be Clanners honored Davion heroes or massively expand their business after capturing a fort both factions were fighting over

>always got mad that there was always an objectively superior build
Good balance is a lost art. Every game these days ends up with so much useless shit because of it.

I emulated Last Raven about three or four years ago with no errors or anything of the sort.

Been out in Japan for more than a week, it's Dirge of the Cerberus again, good idea, terrible execution and lack of polish.

Yeah, they really left this game to die, whoever directed these cutscenes must be the same guy who did Final Fantasy13 and Type-0, the utter boredom, there's flashes of genius and fun in the Wanzer sections, but dear god, the on-foot shooting.

Dirge of Cerberus was a good idea?

An action-game with Advent Children crazy fighting, yeah, too bad most of that shit were in the cutscenes instead of gameplay.

Kind of hard to do that with Vincent unless you do more with his forms or go more towards the Vanquish type deal.

Devil May Cry with FF10 characters sounds like a good idea in theory.

the game had mouse support way better than many console-exclusive third person shitters by a huge amount

They should have went third-party or a collaboration with Capcom or Team Ninja, but typical Squeenix arrogance during the early 2000s.

Dirge of Cerberus actually supports the mouse and I didn't know it also supported the keyboard as well

Thought you meant Left Alive, a lot of games for the PS2 had Mouse and Keyboard Support, like Resident Evil Dead Aim or those Japan only VNs.

Toshifumi Nabeshima who did Armored Core as director, Yoji Shinkawa on character designs and Shinji Hashimoto who has a 50/50 on good and bad games under his belt. This is fucking disappointed, the Wanzer sections and how little there are, is great, everything else is soulless and bland. Another game that was sent to die, all the budget and manpower went to FF15, KH3 and the FF7 Remake. Just a fucking damn shame.
