There hasn't been one of these threads in awhile.

Are there any good games coming out soon? It's such a barren wasteland for games about robots and machines these days. Now even former mecha series like Titanfall are just battle royal shit.

I'm cautiously looking forward to Mechwarrior 5: Mercenaries. Even though Pirahna are kikes, they made a good game very accurate to CBT mechanics that is only limited by their shitty business model with MWO. Logically, if they made a game that uses the same fundamentals but without the F2P aspect and with a Mercenaries campaign, it should be good. But I am waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Fromsoft have all but confirmed that a new AC game will never happen, especially with Daemon x Machina coming out. Dark souls pretty much killed the company creatively. Even Sekiro is looking to be just another Bloodborne scenario.

What ever happened to that mecha game they showed off at like, 2016 E3? It was being developed by MGS and AC people, but all that u ever heard about it was that teaser trailer.

40k, A game with control of Mechanicus will happen eventually. That will be a new approach for a mech game. Warhound, Warlord, Titans. Squad's and Arma 3's mod for wh40k both employ Warlords. You can pilot it like a tank (bipedal legs) in a cockpit, 3 men.

Primaris marines are bigger. Jump Assault primaris autocannon suit looks like a zaku II. Terminators are mini mechs… and Dreadnaughts can be considered one. The ladder makes for great gameplay.

Surely a license will go towards these spheres of combat sooner than later.

A robot would never be transported in a way in which the center of mass is still in the mid section, and kneeling. If the truck turned it would simply sway and fall, those chains are terrible. Artist did it for aesthetics, usually the robot would be laying on its back for transportation, and especially enclosed to hide what was being transported. Also I am tired of having fingers be the actuator for a huge weapon, it should just be electrically hard-connected to the arm. Just venting and passing time, no need to reply.

Fucking love this game, even though it's the most balls to the walls it can get.

Played with it recently during breaks when learning programming at a govt. owned and funded technical school. It had a pc loaded to the brim with emulators of all sorts, from nes to turbografix, saturn, ps1, etc.

It had one mech game that I can't find anywhere now, maybe one of you knows about it

It was a Mech FPS game in the Saturn, ran like shit but was pretty fun. You moved around a (rather small) city that was being invaded by robots, tanks, possibly an army, I can't remember. I don't think the game officially left Japan. It was vector graphics for the mechs, vehicles and models and the terrain was poorly textured.

Any clues?

Anyways, thanks for the help dude… Now back to mech games.

If any of you want, try out Gigantic Army for a sidescroller mech game. Fun, challenging and damn good looking.

Brigador's pretty good as well, being very based on MW3050. Pretty fun to wreck an entire army by running around in a light mech constantly firing gauss cannons and bursting through buildings with Audio-Kinetic pulses that delete buildings and enemies.

Just don't run into the suicide fuckers.

Also fuck sake, now it's not letting me upload the covers of both games.

But after playing through the demo a few times, I came to the conclusion that it's alright. My main concern is the amount of customization available. The lack of different part types is pretty upsetting, but the gameplay is there. Sort of.

I do hope the game blows the fucking roof off. I want it to move as many copies as BotW. Anything to make Fromsoft stop milking Dark Souls and make fucking Armored Core 6.

>Market the game with mech pictures and videos everywhere

I don't comprehend. Did not a single person perk up in the meeting room and ask "hey maybe people will want to play as the mechs?" How did this come to pass?

Apex Legends made me go through the all the stages of grief in the first hour of it's launch.

I think Respawn has given me some sort of PTSD, taking a game i love and mangling it's corpse like that with no warning.

Fuck man, it fucking hurts. It hurts so fucking bad.

I am actually impressed at how bad this looks. I guess Front Mission Evolved crashed so hard that the shell shock threw them into a frenzy to make Front Mission Evolved 2. I've never seen such a soulless husk of a game trying so hard to appeal to western console owners, and still be so goddamn forgettable.

Not to mention modularity beats anything else. If the mech has a hand, it can wield pretty much any type of weapon, and even objects or people, offering further functionality. Besides, if an arm with an integrated weapon gets damaged, you have to replace the whole arm, while if the mech only damages its arm or its weapon, either can be replaced independently.

Are Armored Core 4 and For Answer good games, or at least good entry points to the series? Saw some cheap copies of both while out earlier and it's got me curious.

7f6832  No.16184052

>>16184003

4 is meh, For Answer is great but it plays nothing like a traditional Armored Core game.

Pirate Nexus, the first game to use remotely sane controls. By the time you finish it you might be competent enough to attempt Last Raven (considered one of the best and stupidly hard) and have a save to import to it.

What I want to see in a Mech game.

+Build your own mech

-There are no wrong builds

-When damage increases, speed decreases allowing players to tailor the mech to a more mobile dodge-centric playstyle or a more I-ARE-TANK bulldoze-all-the-things playstyle

-1 Special ability available for your mech that you choose from a list; including high-damage proximity mine giving the high-speed-low-damage mechs a burst damage tool, and a thruster boost giving low-speed-high-damage mechs some mobility. More balanced mechs may want to use more utility focused abilities. Also abilities that play to a balanced approach's strength, like AoE's that do damage in line with your normal damage output (so it would do the most damage on the high-damage-low-speed mechs but you will not reliably be able to hit more than 1 or 2 enemies with it; whilst its damage is too low to really be worth taking on the high-speed-low-damage mechs)

-Essentially the idea is that no mech build is useless and each have their strengths and weaknesses

-Hidden bonuses in the levels that require you to have high-damage to break through walls, or high speed to win races, and so on; to encourage replaying levels with a different mech builds

-Basically I'm a whore for 'create-a-character' but always got mad that there was always an objectively superior build, or else has everything do the exact same thing making your aesthetic choices feel pointless; I want a game that encourages me to try out different builds that feel different and play different, which allows me to swap at the end of each level to try out another, and has different secrets that are only accessible by utilising the strengths of the various builds to ensure maximum game-exploration and replayability

Plz.

>fingers

I always thought the way it should work for real settings is to have non-attachable firearms developed for use by the mechs have like a cable that connects via the fingers, or some other means of direct interface, with a manual trigger serving as an alternative backup option. So if for example, your mech is made by a different manufacturer with a connection method that's incompatible with the rifle you just scavenged, or if the weapon is damaged or hacked or something and the electrical systems fail, or if for whatever other reason your mech is unable to establish a direct connection to the weapon, you can still have a fighting chance. Definitely what I would do if I ever made any kind of game or whatever.

Titanfall 2

its nothing groundbreaking but it does the "Man and his Mech" story it sets out to do well

>Mechwarrior 4 Mercs

Well good campaign more than "story" the Story is relegated to background lore and Mission Details but there is a more personal story of your character and his lance by the end they could be Clanners honored Davion heroes or massively expand their business after capturing a fort both factions were fighting over

Toshifumi Nabeshima who did Armored Core as director, Yoji Shinkawa on character designs and Shinji Hashimoto who has a 50/50 on good and bad games under his belt. This is fucking disappointed, the Wanzer sections and how little there are, is great, everything else is soulless and bland. Another game that was sent to die, all the budget and manpower went to FF15, KH3 and the FF7 Remake. Just a fucking damn shame.
