Grim Dawn dips its toe into every occult and horror literature they could think of at the time.
Its foundation is 1:1 Lovecraft with a thick coat of Warhammer over it. OP probably wants writing instead of just world building but its all I could think of without going into Point&Click space or your typical playstation horror game which is already mentioned.
If you just want atmosphere there are a lot of 3d horror games around now that would hit the spot. Like Prenumbra, Vampyr (which isnt as bad as people here make it out to be) and my current favorite Remothered.
If you havent already seen them search for silent walkthroughs/lets plays on YT for horror games, like SHN Survival Horror Network. These channels are better than every review ever and also are great for having running while going to bed.

Seeing as everyone's throwing any kind of occult out there, there's Clive Barker's Undying and Jericho. Undying is more to the tune of arcane occultism, rooted in celtic magicks. Jericho is more traditional, with serving a dark god and keeping it sealed with elements of body horror. The gameplay is worlds apart and Jericho was really polarizing. Undying is a first person shooter that has magic as well as guns, kinda a precursor to Bioshock. Jericho has squad combat, with six characters having seperate powers and guns to any number of effects between useless and broken.
