Gaymer gear™ in general is overpriced shit. The purpose of the thread would hopefully be to find out which mice that aren't as shit.

Gaymer gear doesn't matter. That basically means that because something is marketed as "Gamer" it doesn't mean it's any better or worse than other hardware.

Unless if it's by Razer. In which case it is almost certainly worse than anything else in the same pricerange.

>$10 Logitech mouse and keyboard, don't need to replace them for at least six years

There's a 0% chance that any membrane keyboard is holding up past a few months of heavy use, let alone 6 years. Within a couple of months your QWERASD and space are going to be mushy as fuck compared to other lesser used keys, and at that point it's time to toss it. Going mech isn't going to improve your vidya though, it's just infinitely more pleasant to type on.

Now for mice, yes, the difference between a high-end mouse and some walmart trash is huge. You want the best sensor possible and at least +4 buttons on the side. Every mouse that checks those boxes is going to be marketed to gamers, just like every flagship GPU is going to be marketed to gamers. Anyone telling you to avoid anything with "gamer" related marketing is either a poorfag or has a double digit IQ.

d4d698  No.16001436

The DPI value doesn't necessarily mean anything, it should only be thought of as a very rough guide about the precision of the mouse. But better mice move the cursor more accurately according to the way you move the mouse or may track fast movements better, and depending on the mouse bad ones may jitter for few pixel distances when you move it so they're less precise. You get used to even the worst of mice, but that doesn't mean they're as good.

602ab9  No.16001439

For me a bad mouse is one which has any button breaking down too fast and or having an inaccurate sensor.

The rest is ergonomics and maybe personal preference. A mouse won't make anyone better at playing video games.

I didn't care for the placement of the dpi button, and if you want to change the lights to anything outside of the obnoxious color changing default you have to install their software.

However the settings save to the mouse itself so you can mess with the lights and uninstall the software after. It has a metal "inner" body that is kinda nice for adding a bit of heft if you like that. I use it for my shitty travel laptop and it has held up despite being shoved into baggage without any fucks to give.

Depends. My opinions are as follows:

>mice

Gaming mice make sense when buying a mouse as if you have a competitive mindset as I do and want maximum consistency (no smoothing or jitter) you need a flawless sensor which any reasonable gaming mouse should have. There are mice like the Wheel Mouse Optical 1.1 and Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 1.1 and 3.0 which aren't "gamer mice" but have flawless sensors and have been popular with competitive Quake and CS for a long time.

>keyboards

If it supports 5 key presses at once and has no major ghosting, almost anything goes but a linear switch mechanical keyboard is optimal.

>headphones

Get a good pair of open back headphones. Respectable open backs have the best soundstage will allow you to track sounds like footsteps within the game better. Gaming headsets are bullshit, avoid completely.

< Scroll wheel is a bit too loud for my taste when scrolling up

< Won't help you stand out like an attention seeking faggot at a LAN party

The rubber coating and sweat gets super nasty instantly and feels bad and you have to clean it off very frequently. Also if the coating gets scratched it'll be there forever and feels bad.

Pic related has lasted me 6 years with no problem except the rubber coat which they have since removed. When I started playing quack the problems show, weight is unbalanced towards the RGB logo and the pinky rest is so oddly shaped that getting a comfy grip is very hard if not impossible.

Extra buttons add extra weight and many just won't find that many buttons comfortable. God forbid you are left handed and can't comfortably use the buttons to begin with.

>>16002170

I think avoiding rubber coating is generally good advice. Unless you are retarded, the extra grip from the rubber won't help with anything and it just wears off and just sucks up bacteria. I swear it's some Jew trick to get you to buy more mice when the rubber wears off for normalfag retards.

I know DPI is a joke when it comes to anything else but specific FPS compared to wheel mice, but I found this RedDragon with 16400 DPI for just 7$. Everything I found on my local buy website which has "gamer" in the name is sold for scrap. For example at the shop these Scorpion Marvo HG 9028 headphones are sold for 33$ at full price, 20$ if it's on a sale and 7-10$ if I use the local website to buy it used from another person.

Should I? I never bought "gaming" stuff because it was overpriced as hell , but for just 7$ I'm impressed by the quality… at least for now.

m65 was great for me, reviews about scroll wheel breaking are true but only if you're a mongoloid like me and drop shit all the time. Adjustable weights are cool but felt a little strange in my large hands. Its a nice all round mouse and it's not super expensive but personally I roll with the mx518 because prediction makes it much easier for me in shooters. Depending on what you do prediction/angle snapping can be a blessing or a curse. For a mouse without without prediction I recommend a Zowie ec2a or g502. Hope you enjoy what you chose.

Shitty sensors can be inaccurate, so if you do a test where you move your mouse left to right the same amount, it can be off target by a little bit. It's only really an issue when moving at very high speeds.

c19026  No.16004099

A sensor that lacks any jitter, angle snapping or built in acceleration. If you move the mouse to the left 15cm slowly and then move it to the right 15cm fast and end up at the same spot that you started moving it from in the game, that means you do not have acceleration which means all movements are 1:1 and consistent.

You'd know the importance of flawless sensors if you were good at FPS games. You clearly are not.

>>16003953

>Should I?

No, I had a Redragon mouse as a holdover until I got something better and it was dogshit. You couldn't flick at fucking all with it because if you moved it too fast it just fucking malfunctioned and stopped tracking. The anglesnapping was cancer too.

Get a G203 or Nixeus Revel.

>DPI

Meme for ANYTHING. It is literally just another word for sensitivity. Using over 2000 DPI will make most sensors stop being flawless to boot because they aren't meant to handle these DPIs to begin with and they have just overclocked the sensor. I use 800 DPI. It's enough for desktop usage and I have sensitivity options in games. 400 DPI is fine too.
