The first snow fall of the year is happening outside and while I'm incredibly content, I'm curious: What do you guys do to take your battle stations to that extra level of comfort? I've got a couple of improvements in mind for my own and I'd like to hear any input from comfort partisans.

My largest concerns is getting a new desk. The one I have currently is a little drab and lacks good ergonomics, so I'm going to check out some goodwill stores in the local area for some wooden treasures. I've got a lovely little coffee table that I put my game systems on so I can play consoles on my bed that's just the right weathering for me. Is there anything I should look out for with old wooden desks?

Pic related is sort of what I have now.

I use a CRT and it makes my games look better and the environment around me warmer.

build your own desk

1be0ac  No.15990099

I built my own desk, its three parts and easy to assemble. It holds two monitors and a 21 inch crt. I have and old computer chair I have modded and added better cushions. I am not a fan of head phones or a big mic like in my face like normalfags nowadays. It really helps if you can position your setup facing against the wall looking out the window. My view is nothing but my empty backyard that leads into the forest. (I am an in the woods anon).

Comfy is very subjective though.

Stop making excuses. I found a used 2 meter desk for 15 teabucks.

All I had to do was replace a few screws, put in news ones and clean it up properly.

Then you have no excuse to not be trying. I'm living with my brother after moving to a different country where I have been for 6 months now and until 2 months ago I was working on a factory.

Now I got a cushy office job where I'll probably wait a few months before trying for something better. I'm only 22 and only finished secondary school, no excuses.#

I go to work on my bike, suck it up. Bought a shitty used one that costed me a month of bus rides.

I had that fear too, then I forced myself to work on a pizza place for a whole year talking to customers and got over it. If you don't take the first step you will be left behind.

So veering a tad off topic but I suppose affording a good comfy place is a part of feeling secure and at ease:

If you live with someone currently and aren't paying rent then your actually a little golden because you can now save money to buy a small amount of property. So once you move out you already have a place to live without paying loads of money on a place you'll never own.

Look for any tax program, welfare, or any other amenities the government offers to people in your situation as every little bit will help you to become financially solvent(You see a lot of poorer people who are brainlets and don't know how to handle the money they get from these programs. Go to the library and study up and talk to any financial people you can meet.)

For actual work it all depend on where your located as business can very greatly with geological location and commercial landscape so adjust your search accordingly.

You may be able to work temp night jobs that don't even require you talk to people and won't fuck with your other government benefits because they're temp(seriously the government will literally offer you health insurgence and 401k matching in certain cases. Look that tax shit up.), Or you might be able to go to a trade school to become a mechanic where you can work while your learning and getting paid, Also consider technical jobs if there's any in your area as you can learn to build a website rather easily and get well ahead of others(Especially if your not working and only studying.) see these books and do some exercises and you'll ace most interviews as for many code jobs your training actual takes place on the job.

Becoming financially and emotionally independent can be a mounting prospect when you've been with family for so long, hell, my parents paid for my college and I still felt strong suicidal urges throughout higher education because I feared I would never make it. But you need to remind yourself of something, your a smug piece of shit. Other normalfags would kill themselves in your situation but your going to thrive in it instead AND find a good life on top of it. Just do a little every day, a little bit of effort in improving your situation every day and you'll be a mile ahead of the single parents working fast food jobs, a State away from normalfags who meandered their way though higher education in a year, a country away from the chads who were born with it in a decade, and an ocean away from everyone in a lifetime. Let that smug aura consume you to rise above the wageslaves and you'll find yourself smiling all the time.

>I go to work on my bike, suck it up. Bought a shitty used one that costed me a month of bus rides.

This. Be as fugal as possible. Anon's have a few distinct advantages over normalfags and one of the largest is that were fugal to a fault. Brew your own coffee, make your own transportation, cut your own hair, Buy second-hand furniture and clothing, pirate your games, and buy in bulk. You'll find yourself with more money then you initially know what to do with.

Currently trying! I'm living in the smallest room of a bargain apartment I share with two other people. It's a high-income area, but my wages are high and I have high mobility between jobs as a computer guy.

>>15990563

I'll look into some that attach to desks. Thanks anon!
