I don't really see any killer apps that /v/ would enjoy on the Switch outside of ports with superior versions on better systems (Monster Hunter XX having a 3DS version with FREE online for example but only in Japan). That is unless we get more lewd M-rated nip games localized to the Switch (which will have uncensored PC versions anyway, but knowing Steam not for long).

I got Dragon Fang Z: Rose and the Dungeon of Time as an exclusive if you don't mind rogue-likes. The game is stupid hard and unfair at times with you needing to risk storing your gear in a warehouse on multiple deaths before getting to the end. The core game is fun. Plus it has cute dragon girl beating up cute monsters. And it has cute monster girl designs.

Indie ports work surprisingly well on Switch. Most indie games are still dumpsterware garbage communist propaganda in general though. I avoid Celeste like the plague because journos like it which means the game is shit. Plus it was made by the Towerfall devs, who included Anita Sarkeesian in that game. Fuck those guys. I'm hoping more Senran comes to Switch. I've been wanting to get in that series for a while. Peach Ball Splash is out in Japan. However no word on Asian/English release yet.

That's exactly what I use the switch for. To be more specific I pirate console games that aren't on PC or have a crack yet. I just binged on Valkyria Chronicles 4, i'm planning to download that monster boy game aka spiritual sequel to the wonder boy series. Plus it's great for toilet gaming.

I got my Switch about 7 months ago. Played Mario Odyssey and loved it. Played Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and thought it was great, ended up pumping 160 hours into it which is a lot for me. I will probably play new game + at some point.

I have Mario Kart 8 and Tropical Dong which I just play whenever I feel like because I had both on the Wii U and played them a lot on that. I'm playing Breath of the Wild mainly at the moment, I've beaten the four main guardian dungeons and found 78 shrines so far. Enjoying it although I don't think it's as good as previous games. Cool engine though. Music is so lacking.

I also played that 8-bit Castlevania game, Curse of the Moon? Can't remember it's name. It's great, although I've yet to beat the final stage because the boss is ridiculous. Oh of course, I'm also 4 badges deep into Pokemon Let's Go Eevee, although I've played kanto in many ways so many times that it's just kind of boring, so I only play it when I feel like it.

I plan on playing Dark Souls next, I've never played it before. I also plan on playing Axiom Verge, Golf Story, XC Torna DLC, Stardew Valley. I also want to play some of the Final Fantasy Ports (IX, X, X-II and World of Final Fantasy)

I'm looking forward to Animal Crossing, Metroid, Bayo 3, Fire Emblem, SMTV, Luigi's Mansion 3. There's some others I think I'll play as well, like that Mech game.

I hope they're working on MK9 as well. I don't care for Smash.

I'll pick one up for Animal Crossing and Ace Attorney 7, then CFW and load a bunch of games I'll never touch, exactly like I did with the 3DS.

I'd love a good 2D Zelda again, but the best I can hope for is either more multiplayer aids or another fucking LttP rehash. So instead, I've had the thought of Zelda Maker, a Mario Maker-type game where you design your own overworld, with dungeons and stuff, and basically make your own quest. Just give me the Zelda 1 and LADX styles and I'll be set.

I was wondering though, at the beginning, he says "normally you would go offline in custom firmware and go online in your official firmware." Doesn't anyone have any experience with this? I found another video from this guy where he restores a backup after having custom firmware, and he was able to play online without getting banned with that backup. Is that the only option right now? Having to delete custom firmware (and reinstall it later for piracy) every time I want to play an online smash match seems like a huge hassle, but it seems like the only way.

Octopath is an either love it or hate it kind of game. The different stories were enjoyable, and the combat was fun once you figured out a good set up. I really didn't have to grind all that much, if any, but you will if you intend to go after the post-game super boss (all 8 characters need to be 70+ minimum). Most of the usual gripe is over the art style and direction. I didn't really care for it at the start, but it grew on me as I played through; it had this feeling of FF6 being halfway between old school 2D and 3D with vignette and bloom. Music is top notch.

My only complaint was how little the characters interacted with each other or the lack of interacting with the different stories.

personally I like the feature but I'm mostly an rpg guy and there really isn't much on it outside xenoblade 2, which I like, and octopath, which I dislike. So for me its sort of a "I guess I'll wait and hope some actual vidya I care about comes out at some point" stance right now. The only one I've seen announced are the still untalked about pokemon console main game and chocobo mystery dungeon

I got burned super hard on the 3ds and wii u since neither were anything like the powerhouse of game selection the DS was. I got the switch hoping that since it had sold about as good as free heroin they would be forced to fill it with more games, but all they've really done is fill it with indie ports I don't care about.

If you're willing to see if maybe something good comes out, keep it. If you're unsure of that though, I'd say just sell it off and maybe you can buy a Switch Mini or something for cheap a few years later if something does finally come out for it, but its really not worth it right now in my opinion

I can recommend oddysey but not zelda, at least not at full price. Actually outside of xenoblade 2 and maybe odyssey I cannot recommend any game on the switch at full price, many of them nintendo is over charging for lack of content, usually lack of single player content. personally I though botw was okay but got sick of it eventually, the map is 70% way too big, just unused area with nothing of value in it used to make going to new places and finding the little tree nigs more annoying. The weapon durability didn't annoy me much since I always had plenty, but the fucking rain, and having to switch gear to wood ones during the rain, really annoyed me

In case you don't know the rain makes every surface slippery so even if you have plenty of stamina you'll struggle to get up the side of a cliff, and there's certain parts of the map where it seems to be raining almost 24/7

BoTW's weapon durability was the most laudable thing that game tried: It forced you to experiment and manage your weapons. I agree though that the map was idiotically big, with too little enemy variety to justify all the different places. The slate powers were a gimmick you'd never use unless forced to, and most of the shrines were half-assed. The beasts made you think they'd be crazy dungeons but tended up being 10 min. simple levels. Also, once you kill your first Lynel no boss compares in difficulty. And that‘s on docked mode, I‘ve been playing this game on handheld mode for most of the time, which runs about as well as you‘d expect.

I hoped there would be a performance mode in the settings like in FEW, which I could swear I saw in a gameplay video once.

The reason I keep playing it regardless is near endless grind, surfing on the battlefield never getting old and sub20fps titty jiggle.

Peach Ball just fucking came out in December, there is always 9 to 14 months difference between the Japanese release and western releases for the series. Controllers have no motion control. Only Power A controller I have is a replica wireless Gamecube one. Triggers are not analog. Unless you like using Z bumper or X to shield (which I do) it's not worth it. Also get wired over wireless or else you'll be spending extra money on batteries.

The funny thing about Nintendo is that lately for consoles the I/O gimmicks is what I care about. I bought a Wii U and Wii because I stopped caring about graphics due to migrating to PC. It makes me wonder if Nintendo would benefit more from making peripherals and games that need them for PC rather than their own walled garden. But here we are with a dockable handheld system in the vacuum of the Vita's death. Switch is both a console and handheld which the journos say is something new. Dockable phones is nothing new. I have a Motorola Atrix and dock still. Switch is convenient for me to take anywhere and not interrupt my gaming season too long. I live with family that I'm keeping them out of a nursing home right now. I have to be prepared to stop gaming anytime.
