As much as it's become a hard leftist term, the answer is simply that trans culture has become toxic. Obsession over acceptance and those that try to support trans has created a gravity like influence. Trans people are suddenly in and popular because of just how hard people virtue signal or force acceptance, within this culture people begin to encourage the slightest inkling of what may not be the gender norm as being trans, from this more suggestion able people within the group are poisoned and convinced that they are trans. But it gets even worse, then once the person is convinced to be trans they are immediately pressured to transitioning, and when I say pressured, I fucking mean no thinking do it now encouragement to the point they give advice on how best to lie or argue if they don't transition they will be more at threat of committing suicide. This is of course why there is such a high rate of suicide, people are so rushed into such a life changing decision by the culture, they realize they made the wrong choice far too late, trans culture tries to shove under the rug anyone who regrets transitioning, which is easy because the majority killed them selves.
Quite simply, trans culture is toxic. It always starts small but the group will slowly encourage others, AGDQ is no different, in being so all inclusive a trans group formed within and from the base of speed runners generally being socially awkward and easy to influence the number of people becoming trans steadily rose.
