Most of these reviews seem to just be saying the game is shit, not complaining about the censored content. Briefly skimming through I've only seen one review mentioning it at all, and that review was edited to mention that it was censored because he originally thought it wasn't. How much does Nep usually sell? I don't imagine it's much more than that. I know that first image is from 4gamer and the scores from that table are taken from user ratings. Currently it only has two user reviews on 4gamer and neither of them mention the censorship.

The main issues with this latest one seem to focus around the battle system and bugs. I know some people who are playing this a little closer to Western shores and haven't heard much one way or the other from them so far on the actual gameplay so I can't speak to how playable it is one way or the other. As far as bugs, that does seem to be something that's come up since Compile Heart rushed out a patch real fast after release, I might be wrong but they're usually a bit more "deliberate" which it comes to patching titles.
I talked to someone who tracks games sales and he said the game's first week performance is slightly better than the last few Neptunia releases. Granted the most recent games have been an HD remaster of Rebirth 1 and a re-release of VII, but it's doing twice as well as those. In comparison to Megatagmension Blanc, this one has around ~10k while Blanc's game had ~15k.
I'm sure the censorship issue isn't helping things (the Canada bit is by itself probably not a factor)…but it just seems that there are more systemic issues above and beyond the state of the art assets.

Even Jason Schreier on his Kotaku article said it was fake, but once he found out Patrick Lawson is black, he went really light on him and just mentioned he actually worked at the Marriott hotel chain and how unrealistic a Dreamcast 2 is. And how did Project Dream react? Most of the team were cucks and just let him get away with it saying "he had good intentions", but Bertie Wisemann was the only one trying to say he is trouble and dangerous.
Worst part? Patrick Lawson has a history of doing this shit and making ridiculous claims about Sega. He even said Isao Okawa is a piece of shit who was involved in a "nefarious conspiracy" to destroy Sega by pulling Sega out of consoles and dumping debt on them. He did this with sega-16.com with his MrSega account, Gamespot under "ringedge2007", Deviantart, Twitter, his many Blogspot accounts, even NeoGAF and NeoGAF called him out and told him to quit posting his bullshit blog. But that didn't stop him. He continues to do this shit with his Sega United and tornado1994 YouTube accounts, shitting up any YouTube video about Sega in the comment section with false information and other massive blog posts he writes on the comment section, like copying and pasting trademark information. Call him out? He just said it's slander (which is ironic, since he slandered Okawa and many random people who worked at Sega), and he always changes his information around if he gets exposed. Then he accuses you of being part of a "mob" from the Sega site Segabits and just attacks you with random insults. When he got confronted about the Dreamcast 2 claims he just says "What's a Dreamcast 2?" The's a habitual liar who wants to stroke his ego about being Sega's savior. He's continuing these action to this day, talking about his "Operation Razor" and the "Sega Razor console".
Infact, he is very likely to be that "Zach Morris" guy who kept making lies about Sega in the past, because Patrick Lawson uses the same tactics as him, and was the only person promoting and spreading around Zach Morris's blogs around.
That's pretty much it about Patrick Lawson. Never believe any fucking rumor about Sega, especially if it comes from YouTube and other random places.

And even with a guide Valkyrie Profile is very random and unforgiving. Most casual players give up on the game while the "hardcore" or just people with more free time are spurned on by the beautiful artwork, music and interesting / mysterious story and world-building. Anyway I could talk about Valkyrie Profile forever but getting back to the Canadian team, if it's true that they used Valkyrie Profile as a major inspiration without having recently replayed it or carefully dissecting it to learn from its mistakes I can understand players disappointment especially those of the Neptunia series. It's sad because I also like both of those Series so this failure will hit especially close to home for me.
