How does projectile weaponry not add aiming to the gameplay? You need to be able to aim properly to hit a moving mech. Do you also think dogfighting games need hitscan weapons?
Honestly, the fact that aiming looks entirely manual has me worried. Some of the meaningful customization in AC were stats that affect how fast your AC turned and how well it auto-aimed within the targeting window. You had to thing about turn speed, arm speed, and the capability of your AC's computer systems. Making aiming a manual affair gets rid of all of that and takes it further from being a mech piloting game and puts it further towards being a tps with a mech skin.
