Why there are no good super robot games?

>annual copy-pasted turn based shovelware

>ancient gimmicky PS2 action game with horrible controls and even worse dub

>ancient one button auto target PS2 action game where Shin Getter plays exactly like Macross Valkyrie

>endless copy pasted shmups, that might as well feature touhous

>endless VNs without gameplay

>mediocre bayonetta clone with 3 maps and shitty diablo loot

This shit is so fucking popular in both japan and burgerland, and yet it has no games. Fucking why? Transformers Devastation was the closes we could get to something decent, and even that was kinda shit.

I think it's just incredibly hard to recreate the HYPE that a Super Robot show creates when really awesome cheesy shit like STONAAA SUNSHIIINEEE starts to happen. The Super Robot genre loves themes like "The heroes suddenly turn a bad situation around!" or "A new power is discovered just in the nick of time", this is not exactly something that is easy to recreate in a free video game format.

CHANGE! GETTER! is no exception. Also I hated it because thee director change after the first 3 eps, considering they treated getter rays like nuclear energy the first 3 eps and suddenly you've got shit like the stoner sunshine. Granted it came from the manga first, it didn't feel right in CHANGE!

Super Robot Wars' has theme songs for most characters, and long animations for their super moves (which takes a build up of Will/Spirit [whatever it's called]) so you can't just spam it early on in a fight, and is often limited in ammo or takes a lot of energy.

All I ever did with this game was fuck around on the vs mode with my brother never even passing the first stage of the story mode, but it was fun and frantic.

Always played it emulated though, cramped on the keyboard as we didn't had controllers for the pc… old times.

I play super robot wars and I agree. Super fucking lazy games and don't enjoy them. I never enjoyed them like I enjoyed epica stella on ps1. I play turn based stuff and super robots are the worst even though I like characters. That said some more ecchi will help too.
