Broken clocks being right twice a day, and all that. The removal of the Diva Room in FT was necessary because FT is an Arcade game. Get em in, get em playing, get them the the fuck out to make way for the next customer with their eyes on the top score. Diva Room was just a big grindy distraction to what should be the core of the gameplay - but worse, it wasn't lewd enough to really justify it's inclusion on it's own merits. It was minimally cute, but got old fast.
Diva X was the culmination of those bad design decision, but otherwise once you have all the songs unlocked - you can just ignore the story mode (aside from grinding for costumes) and just play it like a classic PD game. It's piss easy compared to F2nd and the ExExtreme charts of FT, but it has some of the best songs in the franchise I think. The concerts that acted like boss stages were a great idea - but each song should have been fully fleshed out into stages that flow into each other - rather than just being super-cuts into one long marathon song. That way you could mix up song-lists into your own boss rush compilations/plan your own concert. Plus, some of those songs were really good - so it's frustrating you don't get to play more than a clip at a time as part of a larger song.
