The olympics make nips nervous but it's all still just speculation and hysteria. Right now the known source of Sony's policy change is the fact that the California branch of SIE has total control over the playstation brand. It has even been reported that the new content policy is obnoxious to the point where all the reports and communications are to be submitted in English.

I want to clarify something to the Americlaps who actually believe publishers' lies regarding European ratings and censorship.
Here in Europe we have the PEGI ratings. They are mostly equivalent to your ESRB, except we don't have an AO rating that can only be sold in porn movie rental shops, and instead it just goes up to +18. Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was rated PEGI18, and so was Gears of Wars and Manhunt. PEGI ratings are not legally enforced in most countries (I know for sure they are enforced in Germany because they are cucks; probably in UK as well, but I don't know), and thus a 12 years old kid could go buy GTA to the store alone, and they would hand it to him as long as he had the money. They really are a joke.
So when a dumb fuck publisher censors something "to conform to European ratings", they are basically lying. PEGI is as lax as it gets, because anything moderately violent or sexy is labelled PEGI18 and means nothing at all. PEGI ratings are a joke, mostly guidelines for parents, and they never follow them at all. If Cawodoody was rated PEGI18 and still be a massive success, so can any other games. Even more so, they are lying when they claim they do dumb stuff like cennsoring a cute indian dress to make it look like a cowboy dress, because PEGI doesn't rate that kind of stuff.
tl;dr PEGI is a joke and its ratings mean nothing, unlike ESRB, and if any publisher claims they had to tone down the game to conform to PEGI ratings, they are basically lying, or misunderstanding PEGI way too hard.
