So have any other anons lost the hateboner for Call of Duty recently? (((Activision))) has some pretty shitty practices as of late especially when it comes to DLC and season's passes and all that gay shit. But nevertheless there's nothing else that I can find that scratches that fast-paced, grind progression FPS itch.

I only played a few games when I was younger, mainly the modern warfare games with my cousin and owning black ops 2 because of my friends at school. Despite that I would read PCGamer a lot and at some point I picked up the opinion that COD is gay because it's for retards and each COD was just getting worse, especially Ghosts and up.

In hindsight and at least on paper, imo all the CODs up to WW2 were actually pretty good, especially Infinite Warfare despite all the hate it got, possibly because it got released alongside 'Battlefield: We Wuz Krautz'. What do other anons think?

CoD is clearly not as bad as walking simulators, battle royale and half-finished (((Early Access))) games. I'd happily go back to the time when they were the biggest issue in the industry

let's conveniently ignore the battle royale mode in black ops 4, but yeah. COD has always been a mass produced product, but at least there was care put into it even if at the end of the day it's addictive, repetitive content. Unfortunately micro-transactions have found there way into it but for the most part they've been optional cosmetics.

to be fair the main multiplayer hud is more tolerable. I did painstaking minutes of research to find all the recent huds and may as well do it for all the games, here goes nothing

Maybe CoD1/2. In other words, around the time MoH also dropped off the horizon following Allied Assault. Nothing these games did was too much worse than Half-Life's normalization of linear campaigns around the time.
