Are there any good parody games that joke about certain cliches in different genres or parody whole genres The ones that come to my mind are Duty Calls and Bard's Tale, with Duty Calls losing a lot of points for being a Bulletstorm advert and generally being just a walking simulator. But speaking of video game parodies that are also walking simulators, Stanley Parable is technically not that bad for an interactive "choose your own adventure" type of thing and it at the very least pokes fun at itself every so often/
Flash games count too
Most JRPG parodies I've seen sucked simply because they were the rehashed joke of "Aren't those JRPGs cheesy? :^)" and based their experiences with JRPGs mostly from Final Fantasy

Isn't the entire problem with that the fact that games rely on the gameplay being good first, and everything else is secondary? So, almost all games parodying other games just end up doing the exact same thibg with a smug look on it's face, or over-the-top with no amount of irony, or just pointing at something and laughing. In addition, isn't there a general lack of humor in games in general with all of it coming down to being "LOL, so random/weird/cliche" and the games with the last "good" amount of humor being on the PS2 (Unless it's Japanese)?
As far as actual parodies, what about that 2D section in Deadpool? Also, I'd consider the Smash Bros. series to be a parody itself due to how Sakurai originally designed the games to be "alternatives" to the SFII clones overrunning the genre at the time, and went the extra mile with the cartoonish nature of the games (And, then destroyed the series with Brawl, with it lacking any sense of irony, while talking out of the otherside of his head about how "It was always a 'party game'.")

Parodies of non-vidya media is going to be a lot more common, in my experience, like Viewtiful Joe as a parody of action hero flicks.
First vidya example that comes to mind is Cargo! the quest for gravity / Eureka!. it's Ice-Pick's parody of a "fun" game.

It was partially made as a response to the critical reception that their first two games weren't "fun". The objective of Cargo! is literally to have as much Fun as possible, where Fun is a plentiful resource that can be found and farmed anywhere by doing practically anything. You use Fun to buy parts for your vehicles so you can have even more Fun, and there are occasionally on-screen prompts that say "Are you having fun yet?"

Shit.. I remember seeing a gameplay clip of this one goofy FPS game a long time ago. I can't remember what it was called though. It had a smartass protagonist and one of the bosses was a generic Jrpg anime boss who spoke only through textboxes. The protag keeps pressing the textboxes' "A button" to make the boss continue speaking. Protag then gets annoyed with pressing the button and comments that if Jrpg gamers really do waste their lives just clicking through so many textboxes.
The generic anime boss was a jab at Jrpg cliches, but I forgot what that fucking game was called.

For the Frog the Bell Tolls
It’s basically a parody of Zelda with focus on the puzzle-adventuring and away from combat.
It was made by the same team that made Link’s Awakening so it turned out really good too. I actually like it better than Link’s Awakening. Only reason it isn’t famous over here is because it was never released, by fan translators have fixed that.
It’s a must-play if you enjoy 2d zeldas.
