Are the Africans historically innacurate there actually? You know this is a moot point seeing that people who were also very enthusiastic about other cultures were also the great white poets of romanticism and seeing that from the beginnign of history, our culture was getting inspired by non-european cultures. i.e, the numbers that we have as well as the modern ideas of grammar like verbs, adjectives etc come from India. Besides, gamesjournos do not actually respect any culture, they are a bunch of niggers that want to create a globalist culture that has no identity of it's own by forcing in elements that do not belong in certain settings for the sake of "diversity" it is different from actually being interested in different culture. Anyways,there's nothing I can really think of unfortunately, it feels like everything either isn't focused on any particular culture, or is European, American (Which while its not the same as European cultures is still based heavily in it), or Japanese.

I can't exactly blame them anyways, learning about shit such as African, Middle-Eastern, South American, Chinese or Indian cultures where there is so much savagery and less unique culture, its not much surprising to me.

I really would like more games set during the crusades. Its what made AC1 so comfy. Traveling from Damascus to Jerusalem to Acre and hearing everyone prepare for war was top tier.

No it doesn't. The controls are shit for the kind of game it tries to be. Half the time you're trying to press a button to do something else, you're either running a recovery animation that prevents you from doing anything else or you're on some kind of invisible cooldown with no feedback of when it ends. Not to mention that enemy attack patterns are ridiculously stupid at times where the fight is basically: slash, dash away, wait for enemy's vulnerability frame, slash, repeat. The game is generally good, but it's VERY rough around the edges.

The African tribes are historically accurate to the extent that the rest of the civs in AoE2 are. They're actually in the campaigns of AoK and Conquerors, just not as actual civs.

The HD edition is fine other than multiplayer technical issues. Even if you don't want to support Microsoft, you can play it for free via Voobly

Games about Ancient Rome are really fun because it was an exotic and barbaric civilization that dealt with tons of cultural clashes.
