I already broke 500k GSP and am in elite smash. I got it last afternoon. How many people are actually playing and what's a high GSP?

And this smash feels way better than the last one. Sm4sh on release was basically roll dodge roll repeat until someone made a mistake. This is a lot more offensive and a lot more aggressive. It's already much better than sm4sh, though there are some things I do miss. I do like how these online games are so varied. It felt like in sm4sh you'd always seem the same few characters in for glory. There's a lot more variety in SSBU and I'm enjoying it a lot more.

It's not a huge leap over sm4sh beyond that, but I feel like a lot of Wii U games get this treatment, not just smash.

A lot of people sucked the game's cock because it made SJWeeb translators mad. There was a large amount of Tumblrfags who liked the game very much but also very much wanted it cleansed of things they deemed problematic, because they're SJWeebs. The game was shit, the translation was decent and unpozzed. The latter does not make up for the former, but I support the idea of devs translating in-house. I'd much rather a translation be a little rough around the edges in about dozen lines of text out of thousands, than to be a completely dishonest rewrite. I think P5 being a huge success is a good thing for translations and a bad thing for Persona.

The game is too easy on normal and hard modes are just "enemy hits harder" rather than "enemy has new moves and/or behavior" with the hardest mode being "all criticals/weaknesses deal way more damage" which just translates to "you get fucked by RNG more often". Some of the confidants are useless with the prime example being reporter bitch. The game has all sorts of cool high tier demons for you to use but you can't get most of them on a new game without using a leveling exploit that destroys what little challenge there is. In NG+ using these demons even on higher difficulties makes everything a joke with the exception of the one NG+ superboss and the one optional superboss. The game has a bunch of free space left on the calender towards the end implying there's going to be some sort postgame in which those high tier demons might find some use, but then fast forwards through all that time after you beat the final boss. Most cutscenes and dialogue are unskippable, instead being "fast forwardable" which isn't as good and doesn't even apply to everything, ruining replaybility and NG+ as you have to slog through the entire story again at a snail's pace. The dungeon designs are linear as hell and the game handholds you through even the simplest of puzzles to the point I'd think this were an E-rated kids title if I didn't know any better. It's been a while since I played, so I'm probably forgetting a bunch of things too. And don't get me started on the story and characters. I sold the game when I was done with it.

The main reason a decent chunk, or at least vocal minority, of /v/ liked it was memes and the fact that it being translated in-house, thus keeping "problematic elements" intact, pissed off droves of SJWeebs.

The game is faster than Smash 4. Unfortunately there's an entire frame of input lag now. So the game is less about reaction and more about prediction and set up. I fear as input lag gets worse with eventual stream only consoles Smash will become a button memorizer over a reaction game. It kinda has become that with Smash 4.

I think Marth, Incineroar, Villager/Isabelle should come back as well. Marth is a staple of the Smash and has achieved the same status Morrigan has in the Vs Series where he is a key part of the game as a whole despite the home series being irrelevant.
