5 was good for a perspective of every single god damn character. I didn't enjoy 7 so much, a lot of characters didn't have their proper identity quite right like 8 mostly did.

I tried DW5 recently and it being the best is some elaborate meme at this point.

It's slow, clunky, with extremely limited movesets and low enemies number on screen.

Yeah it was weird you had to buy a boxed copy and you could only play it through steam, didn't even have a store page at all.

And that was a JP version, the chn one was a fantranslation made from it

as much as i hate their business model on the musou games they actually do pretty decent ports (even with the low quality graphics) and then fix bugs that arise later on.

i have no desire to play dw9 regardless, but i hope whoever does their ports continues on

How was Warriors Orochi 4 ? Musous used to be my fucking drug before alcoholism kicked in, but ever since Samurai Warriors 4 all the appeal seemed to waste away.

Also, I suggest to try the DW9 demo if only to witness what horse manure in video game form actually looks like.

8 seems to be the recognized as the best in the series by most people, but I've read that 7 has the best storytelling. Playing 8 on PC is wonky, though. I had issues setting up my DS4 controller and had to mess around with my computer's resolution every time I played it, IIRC.

I only buy the empires games at this point. Only so many times I can go through the story mode in this without getting bored out of my mind. DW9 also made me wish it was over long before it was over, so maybe a lack of a new empires game is ok. Give them time to work on something better. Wishful thinking, I know.

3, 4, and 7 were the best DW titles. 3 had the best arcade beat-em-up feel to the whole thing. 4 had a fucking phenomenal morale system. Compare 4's morale system to everything else, including hyrule warriors, and every morale system, except for 3 which was a hard contenter, is a fucking joke.
