Yeah, you would make an array of objects with color values, names, etc and then create a random integer between 0 and the number of colors - 1 to choose the index from the array that you'd want.

The whole string to rgb thing is completely redundant and a waste of time.

then pick a random number 0 - 3 and there's your color.

This automatically creates a structure numbered from 0 to 6 with Sunday = 0 and Friday = 6. If you are a 1-indexing autist, you can even substitute Sunday=1 to make it 1 to 7.

The weekdays should be an enum as I mentioned. You make a chooseable drop down or some other menu option drop downs are shit avoid those and tie those to integer values, 0-6 or 1-7. They correspond to the enum you set up. This is what enums are designed for.

More generally, string inputs are shit. You should always avoid string inputs whenever possible. People are bad at typing and then you have to parse their input. It could be wrong, which is annoying for both you and the user. It's dumb to make something a string input when you know there are a limited number of things to input.

He needs to learn how to use OOP more efficiently and re-write his mess of a game. To only re-write that section and not fix his entire game, he could at least use a struct + array. He doesn't need a chain of if-statements or even a switch statement if he's just assigning variables.
