It worked pretty well on my machine. Though I think one song has an audio glitch. There's a lot of ports that are essentially the same thing, like beautiful katamari on xbawks 360 if you have one. I imagine this port will be mostly the same.

beautiful katamari is its own katamari game, with different levels than the games that came before it
if you have a PS3, though, then you can play katamari forever, which includes some levels from the first two games and beautiful katamari, but the music really isn't the same

I did play the original emulated on a keyboard. For me tapping alternate buttons on the keyboard is easier than rotating the sticks like in Touch My Katamari. Also this was a while ago, but has PCSX2 managed to emulate the between mission cutscenes yet?

Super Monkey Ball is like Putt Putt Golf. In Katamari Damacy, you start off tiny and just roll miscellaneous stuff into an ever growing ball. Its totally different.

I've finished off making the moon and I ran into zero problems. You can't change any settings until after you finish the tutorial section which is pretty short. There's a new free play mode that unlocks after finishing the moon.

yeah just got a copy, its perfectly fine. first good jap port i've ever seen. Some animations are noticeably locked to 30fps which is jarring and i cant fathom why but its smooth.
