I can't decide which I hate more, immersive sim or character action game. Neither accurately describe what the genre is about. FPSRPG and Stylish Action fit much better. Metroidvania is also garbage, it's on par with "DOOMclone/DOOM-like" the genre never matured to the point where it gave itself a real proper title like FPS.

Immersive Sim is at least a) slightly informative to the design philosophy of the "genre" and b) coined by someone who worked on the games, Character Action was coined by e-celebrities and is almost completely meaningless. FPSRPG is narrow anyway since you could easily imagine a game in this genre that doesn't have any semblance of RPG mechanics.

Anyways, OP, Bioshock and Dishonored are not very immersive. The former has a nice and unique atmosphere but it's still clunky in a way I can't really and truly describe. The latter is just way too easy and the parameters for a bad ending in that game are just pathetic and annoying. Not to mention how OP the protagonist is, it makes the stealth element worthless. Why sneak when you can powerhouse your way through the whole game? Thief did a much better job at this.
