I would like that too but too much damage is already done. Doki Doki and Nekopara brought them into the limelight. Companies like Sekai Project keep screwing over fan translators so the translations scene is much smaller now. With more companies getting into translating VNs, many people don't feel that it's even necessary to fan translate anymore despite many VNs still having awful official translations.
Now that the floodgates are open, we can only learn JP or at least try to stop them from being butchered. Learning moon is still the best option.
