Triple A game pubs/devs I don't think are in their death throes. However I do think a mixture of being out of touch with playerbases, overinflated budgets, not meeting sales expectations and a variety of other issues, will eventually cause some form of policy change in the companies due to simply not making a meaningful profit on some titles.
Whether or not the FTC finds lootboxes gambling or not will have an effect of some form. In the end I don't see a crash, but I do see downsizing in companies in a bid to use money more efficiently to appease stock holders.

Costumes are fine, game is shit though. I think it's probably a trend with modern fighting games and it's only the very casual opinion of myself and other casual players I know, but it feels like every "fun" move is locked behind the energy bar mechanics and as a result you don't actually get to do anything but basic boring attacks. Then you build up a full bar and use a super move that has no defense to instantly take off about 40% of the opponent's life bar. And the energy bar builds up on taking hits and persists between rounds, so it turns everything that should be fun in the game into a free comeback mechanic.
I don't play many fighting games, I'm really bad at them, so I really don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to actual skilled play. In terms of unskilled play though, I can say that the game is trash. It seems like it was made to "competitive" play more accessible for casual players like myself, but in the process ended up as a super boring and watered down version that neither casuals nor I expect pros are interested in.
Of course, as I said I don't play many fighting games, I think this is probably the same kind of mechanics that all modern fighting games use, but if it is then they are all trash, which seems to be the prevailing attitude anyway and I finally understand why.
