Obviously, but its normal when the story itself is an ==AN ANCIENT EVIL AWAKENS== one. And therer is no other choice given to it. you know what could have been cool? That they gave you the choice to either kill Kerrigan (Making the later campaign harder for you, but at least you avenged billions od deads, plus you make Tychus alive), or let her live, with some other disadvantages. That would have been cool, plus in the Zerg part, you would have as her replacement a truly Zerg general to controll (If not Zagara, then a new OC Zerg).

There's lots of video series and internet forum threads breaking down the ridiculousness of SC2's shitastic story. This has been discussed endlessly. As far as the actual game goes-

Having more options would have had an adverse effect on gameplay. The point is you aren't able to get every upgrade so you're always missing out on something. A noob on Brutal is railroaded into getting specific upgrades otherwise the game becomes needlessly more difficult as not all upgrades have equal values. A master on Brutal doesn't need any of the upgrades because the game is still too easy for them. So having more is meaningless and opens up a door where nu-blizz would create upgrades that are insanely more powerful than others forcing you to play a specific way.

Yeah it's shit. Jim still talks to you as if you're a commander at certain points and in the game world it makes no fucking sense. I never played LOTV expac because I gave up on the game by the time that released. Kerrigan's campaign was just fucking awful how you could solo a lot of missions with just her even on Brutal. No reason to micro units just throw them at the enemy base and only focus on Kerrigan.

If you were given more missions they wouldn't have had any meaningful effect on the overall story. In the world they created what could they have done with Jim? Some side missions where you're bounty hunting? For what purpose though? To get more money to spend on unit upgrades you don't even need? Yeah, if this was a good game by competent developers I would have loved more side content that expands on the universe but as the game stands extra content is a fucking waste of time.

Everything about the story was bad. Blizzard didn't like the old RTS way of telling a story, by making the player just some nameless, silent commander that's there for the ride. Blizzard went the Hollywood route and made the story some space epic about saving the Galaxy n shiieeeet. I still can't believe I was supposed to feel sad for Kerrigan when she was the antagonistic for whole first game. What literal troglodyte felt sad when this cunt lost her powers?

Oh and to answer your other question the beginning of the Zerg campaign kerrigan is separated from Jim and Mengsk makes it seem like he killed Jim when he didn't and so Kerrigan goes to the birth planet of the Zerg to become more powerful to kill the whole universe as revenge.

Fuck yeah you should. The voice acting and sound design is still some of my favourite. That's in fact where the game gets a lot of its character. Starcraft 2 has some awful sound effects, like a zergling attack sounding like a wet towel thrown against a wall or a hydralisk attack being some air blown through a straw, and most of the unit lines sound flat and muted.

Well there's an ad in the launcher itself that says the remastered is on sale but it's not a pop-up or any intrusive shit like that. I understand not wanting to download the b.net launcher though. I never heard about performance issues in the free version though. The remastered is shit and no one plays it. As a matter of fact Blizzard removed Warcraft 3 from their store after announcing the remaster most likely because they don't want to make the same mistake they did with stacraft. Why buy a broken "remaster" when the original is free

I didn't mind the BW remaster because that's all it was. It didn't retcon shit or change anything besides the graphics and BNet a bit (allowed you to host games without manually forwarding ports 6112-6119 etc).
