The first game and the second game are so fucking bizarre. Neither of them are particularly shit games, though they aren't good games either, but it feels like they are set in two different universes.
>first game
>linear, full-on horror with barely any respite
>mystery out the ass and the ending doesn't really explain shit
>monsters actually have some really fucked-up designs
>gun-play is shit but stealth is almost always a must
>genuinely scary at times
>second game
>"open-world" meme garbage
>fun shooting mechanics with stealth being basically pointless
>virtually non-existent mystery or horror, the plot is basically spelled out for you
>instead of one OK villain, get two shit villains with basic motivations
>defeat the bad guys and get happy ending, the end
How did it end up like this? There's barely any continuity between the two.
