Just a reminder to download and see if you like it. Personally, I was surprised to find the gameplay was fairly fast paced and the gunplay was nice. They also focused on making the enemies fun to shoot which FPS games often ignore. About my only complaints have to deal with non-gameplay related things such as.

My only complaint is that playing it for free gives you much less than warframe gives you. It really feels pointless to grind just to reach a cap where I either need to fuck off or buy DLC's.

Ehh, it's a good time waster game. Not too complex. Can pass time without getting sweaty. Aesthetics are top notch.
Those who grabbed it up free are going to get stonewalled in content compared to DLC good goys.
The DLC will get more considerably more expensive on the 27th when the next expansion drops.
It's the only mmo I'm willing to play right now, which mostly reminds me how fucked mmo's are right now.
I'd highly suggest getting finding group for a clan, as the benefit's are very big.

Destiny's lore is actually written by the same guy who made Halo's lore. When he retired he basically left a blueprint for everything lore related. However, it's up to Bungie to actually put the lore into the game with some fucking cohesion, which they haven't done at all. So if you want any meaningful lore you'll have to peruse the wiki.

Level differences are not active in Crucible. Gambit and Ironbanner have level differences active between players.
Legendary items have special perks but most perks don't change much.
None of the perks affect DPS in Crucible so if you're sure the guy was using the same gun then it was ping.
Armor doesn't really do anything in Crucible except for certain exotics.
For example their is a legendary armor for warlocks that lets you float in the air while aiming down sights.
Also your super is always going to be a little different due to how the perks work.
A solid weapon to use in PVP is Right Side of Wrong with the outlaw perk. It's a year two weapon so I don't know if you can get it with the base game

Every character speaks like sarcastically, the story is ridiculous and ends with a statu quo.
Apparently they want the Darkness to have guardians too in D3 because they want to go full PvPvE. It makes no sense.
Why didn't they use the Forsaken DLC to change the statu quo and add some drama? Why not get rid of the Vanguard by having Ikora go full revenge after the death of Cade and have Zavala be the only guy who wants to stay in the Tower to protect the rest of humanity? Cade's death had no impact on the bigger story.
D2 is such a mess on every level.
