I find doing low level dungeons a drag when doing leveling roulette. The main reason is that once you actually get to play a class at a high level, when each one has the skill and mechanics that actually defines how certain job is played, going back to basics can be dreadfully boring depending on your class. It doesn't help that the order in which players learn skill for certain classes fucking suck. PLD doesn't get a second full combo until level 54, so they are stuck with their boring aggro combo, and no support spells of any kind, which are what define the job. Almost all of the classes lack single AoE attack at low level. Why the fuck does DRG learn Impulsive Drive at such a low level? It makes no fucking sense, you don't learn Disembowel until level 38, they could instead teach you Doom Spike at level 6, so at least you have some way to deal with large groups of enemies and a reason to actually use Invigorate. Hell, some classes don't really get fun until 50 or even 60, it really kills of any desire to do leveling when you may be stuck in a sub-50 dungeon. The only two possible solutions to improve this that I can see are:

< I'm not sure if I want SE to try and "improve" the leveling experience again, considering how many classes have been screwed over by the skill trimming of SB.
Also, one thing I like about Eureka, was that the monster were actually quite dangerous and took time to kill. This, coupled with the fact that the quest didn't had markers actually made the experience quite fun (at least at the beginning before having to grind to death). It actually made you feel like and adventurer facing the wilds, exploring and discovering new shit, while banding together with others in order to survive. If you go solo, two monsters of equal level to you actually supposed a threat, you had to use all your role skill to survive and having potions and other curatives actually was important. I wish the open world would be more like Eureka: vast expansions of land that must be traversed, which you can do solo but must be well geared, have curatives and know how to play while avoiding dangerous routes, or party with others in order to travel faster and defeat stronger opponents. Just don't make the player grind to death and it may actually improve the player experience and encourage communication and playing together. Also wouldn't mind more quest without markers.
Finally, for next expansion I hope for two more things: a new healer and tank (no DPS) and for classes to become more differentiated of each other and with more define and unique roles. I feel a rework of certain classes is in order (DRK in particular comes to mind) but I'm not sure SE can pull it off considering how retarded they seem to be.

It depends, if you make BLU a tank, then you can give it skills that depend on getting hit by enemies to be used. Maybe a "Counterattack" kind of tank. I don't know exactly how their OT play-style would be but as MT that uses its enemies attacks to fuel their own skills they can work. I would totally be down for a tank that is more about reacting fast to enemies attacks, more in the vein of skills like Shelltron or Third Eye. Something to differentiate it from the others 3 tanks. Also it would be neat if it uses maces or hammers as weapons.

Actually, I had been thinking lately that some of the concepts of eureka may work. To begin with, a more dangerous open world that actually require either to go on a party or buy potions and the like to survive would make the game more interesting and foment cooperation between players. Also, the way the quest work, not giving markers to follow but instead "hints" and directions also would improve the experience of the game, as you actually have to explore and look out for landmarks, you know, like real adventurers. Also bigger maps, with more interesting designs would help too. The big problem with Eureka is the absolutely retarded grind and all the RNG cancer, plus hard as shit maps to navigate and difficulty to play with others that are not at your level (all classes share same Elemental level, not a single way to synchronize to play with them). Also haven't started Pyros yet, but the Logos skills seems very interesting, maybe the system could be adapted on the regular game, perhaps for things like BLU (doubt it though).
Another thing I had been thinking, is that instead of releasing the Relic quests with each update, SE should release it in one go. One of the problem of content like Eureka and Anima is that they are too much work for such a shitty reward. A weapon that not only would be obsolete next patch, but also that isn't even BiS or highest iLvl in the same patch it was released. One of the things that made relic weapons stand out in FF XI was that they were very valuable, and that one of them would be useful for a very long time. Perhaps if SE released all Relic quest in one go, even if it is very grindy, people would be more encouraged to do them, as the Relic Weapon would last till next expansion. Of course, SE wants people to be subscribed as long as possible to the game, so probably this wouldn't be a good idea for keeping the players "hooked up".

Partying up with close friends and figuring stuff out together is the only way to really have fun with the social aspect of any mmo in my opinion. The longer a game lasts the more antisocial it's bound to become, especially when it boils down to people telling each other "go here, do that, switch your class, play it this way" etc. That's the way it is in or out of a guild. Being in a group with people you don't know is generally pointless apart from exp and reward bonuses. It would be alot more sociable if the content wasn't instance-based and stuff just happened in the open world, but then again that tends to result in faggots camping out all over the place so what're ya gonna do.

Me too which is why I was mad when they took out cross-classing and attribute allotment from FFXIV. The reasoning was that the community was just gonna decide on standard archetypes anyway so SE figured they might as well make it easier for us all to bend to the will of min/maxers, who consider themselves the core playerbase even though they do everything they can to boil the game down to autistic number-watching using ACT and other borderline spyware so that anyone who tries to play the game for its novelty and venture outside of an archetype is quarantined immediately. I gave up on winning that argument with people and just spent my time soloing as much as I could before giving up on this stuff entirely. I admit to being casual, but I can't into online gaming anymore until the community is willing to loosen up a little bit.
At least there's still FFXII which is a single player prototype for FFXIV and allows far superior class customization, so I'll probably revisit that soon.

35 is currently half the level cap. It could take you quite far since you can play almost every class up to that level and one of the game's draws is being able to change class whenever you please Even though they butchered the cross class system.
However there's a problem in that the game plays softball with you for way too long. Most classes don't come into any real complexity until at least level 50. Up to then you're shackled by the ballbusting 2.5 GCD since you probably won't have enough 0GCD skills to make it interesting.
Another thing is that 5 classes are locked behind expacs.
Give it a shot, but keep in mind the game's vanilla story is trash and the game will be mostly stupidly easy. The trial will be more so to see if you like the flavor and basic systems of the game than anything.
What got me interested was just listening to random osts though tbh.

Limsa's Aetheryte is gross. I like Ul'dah because its Aetheryte is a in a dedicated, sanitary location. I also feel like the city has the best layout, its districts radiating out from the royal promenade on the center top floor and you can take a line from one end to the other and hit almost all the key locations. Limsa Lominsa and Gridania seem barebones in comparison, though between the two Gridania feels better to navigate. Limsa's only redeeming quality is how handy its market is; its consistently camped by RMT however.

Healer/tank queues are pretty much instant.
DPS queues take a little bit, not because the game is dead but because DPS queues are slow in most MMOs due to all of them having 8 times more dps than tanks/healers. The only problem is the dungeons that fall into the 50/60 and normal raid roulettes, since neither of them is really worth doing.
Trust system is being added for players who don't have time to sit around and queue and it's a shitty band-aid solution to class imbalance. They realized new players aren't leveling their squadrons properly so they're just baking it into the main game.

Lack of real roulette rewards is an issue as well, since 50/60 and normal have tiny EXP bonuses and are really only useful for poetics, which you never get in normal raid anyways since 80% of your queues will be alphascape normal. People do MSQ, which is a far worse slog than 50/60 and normal raid, because it at least gives good EXP and good poetics. Especially at a level where it's still useful, since by the time you can really participate in 50/60 & normal raid you simply don't need the poetics they can provide.
But, yeah, the horrible feel and awkward play of most classes below 70 (or occasionally 60) is too big of a factor. I still remember when stormblood came and they gutted low level kits for every class, removing both every skill that made dungeons interesting and kneecapping half the class by removing access to useful buffs/attacks.
