Hard to describe why a music is forgettable and boring. The motif doesn't feel catchy and distinct, the arrangement feels cluttered and banal, music doesn't fit the tone of the game, etc. Its all a subjective opinion, but overall my opinion is the music is far from distinct enough to leave much impression on my mind. Having played DS for 100 hours or more, I haven't remembered any single score. Elder Scrolls series and Kingdom Come are the examples of excellent orchestra scores that are really imprinted on my mind.

For a game that is supposed to be dozens of hours long? And all of them are forgettable. The one track I remember is the fucking cavern exploration theme because I heard that for about half the total gameplay time.

It's only flaw is having too few tracks and it makes it feel repetitive, I agree with that. I don't agree with the rest however, I like all the tracks. It's orchestral work done right, especially for an open world game. What you posted sounded cheesy and hurt my eardrums. It's either the soundchips fault, the composer's fault, or both, because I know SNES and Genesis games that sound much better than that.

The bad music is the stuff that you don't remember. If music doesn't provoke anything from you then it's just filler noise, not worth the memory that its data take. The only tracks that I didn't like yet remembered were from Drakengard. I'm fairly certain that they were supposed to be 2deep4u earrape.

I'm enjoying the game, but Soul Calibur 6 feels really weak in the music department. Can't say I can hum SCII's songs from memory, but some of them were enjoyable, like Raphael's kickass guitar song in his weapon demonstration.

I remember ONE decent track from DS2 and it's from the huge mess of a missed chance of a good boss that is the skeleton lords

you're in a big dark rocky area lit up by a few fires

no boss gate or anything, looks like a normal area but no enemies

as you approach the center of the room the walls start to move, the fire in the center grows and reveals the walls are actually full of skeletons

music slowly creeps up on you and really gets going as some of them pull themselves free as the entrance closes behind you

the wooden looking chandeliers above you are actually wheel skeletons that fall down, and when they do the room gets darker
