Something that's been bugging me is who exactly drove Jevil mad. The Knight seems like a prime candidate given that the King of Spades also changed drastically after meeting him, but if anything could drive a person mad, I imagine Gaster would probably be it. I think Jevil, like Flowey, is a jab at the player or types of players that might pick up the game.
Flowey came to see the world as a bunch of dialogue trees and simple charts, and had reset his world until he had seen and done everything there was to see or do, growing bored and cynical with his "game." At the end of true pacifist, Flowey decides to remain alone, in the dark of Mt. Ebott.
Jevil is trapped inside a cage at the beginning of Deltarune, but believes himself free. He thinks his choices and actions matter. That he has freedom or can create chaos, but in the end neither Jevil's actions nor your own have any real impact on the game. It's just fluff.

Well on the surface I already didn't like the games simple presentation, the pixel art felt less like a love note to snes era RPGs and more like a lazy and bland attempt at resembling it. Granted I heard the chuckle fuck making it made all of the sprites on the phone.
While I think the combat was actually kind of a novel concept, but I kind of got bored of it by the time I got to Bone boy #2. The plot was a bit enjoyable, but I can't help but feel like each character you run into is a one and done type thing which made me feel less like I've befriended them and more like I just barely avoided getting stabbed to death by a tweaker. making the finale where you rescue them with the power of friendship feel unearned. and could have been explored more and in a more satisfying way.
The Music was bitchin' though I ain't gonna lie. but I don't need to play the game to enjoy that.

A lot of the monsters apparently aren't trying to kill you. I think the bullet shit is how they say hello? It's kind of confusing. They make bullet pattern birthday cards and shit, and most of them aren't dangerous in the slightest. I think Undyne, Mettaton, and Asgore are the only ones legitimately trying to kill you, while the others are trying to "talk" to you in some bizarre fashion.
One of the problems of all the neutral endings is there's a shitload of explanations for things you can only find in specific routes where you kill one or two particular enemies. In a route with only one kill, Sans asks "if you had the power to do things over and find the optimum outcome to ensure everyone is safe and happy, is it your responsibility to use the power?" If you answer yes, he asks Then why did you kill my brother? before fucking off. Sans knows you know nobody can actually kill you. Every last bit of meta-knowledge you have is canon for Frisk.
Undertale had a bit too many options, that most people won't even get half the lore in the game without playing it nine fucking times.

Alphys took a bunch of dead bodies, injected them with magic juice in the hopes that they'd come back alive. Gaster, the most competant scientist they had, fell into a fucking wormhole and voided pretty much the entire monster scientist team but the geek intern who due to retroactive shit got turned into head scientist by default. So I'd say the tutorial at the start could use improvement. Not the first Lancer fight, but the dummy fight where Ralsei is infodumping on you.
The problem is that he uses the one enemy to express a lot of different things.
I think the simplest version would be this:

>One is defeated by fighting (doesn't count as a kill)
>The other by sparing
>The last by pacifying. Pacifying should be last since it is the new option: Undertale veterans will be expecting the first two.
I found it funny how much 'weaker' the tutorial was here, given how it was easily one of Undertale's greatest strengths from a design POV. I know players are expected to have come from Undertale first, but even then, a lot of the new concepts basically relied on infodumps and figuring it out.
I figured out the different techniques on my own and was actually rather happy about that, but Raslei's infodump without proper visual feedback annoyed the fuck out of me. Definitely don't want to sit through that twice. Also, I noticed pewdiepie fucked up a lot figuring out the difference between pacifying and sparing. Fuck handholding, but it just feels like a really slight change of showing how each different move can resolve a conflict.

I like how he's introducing enemies and has realized to double-up or group them. When a new enemy comes in, let us fight just the one breed so we can learn a bit about its patterns or how to fight/act with it. From that point on, let us fight 2 or more enemies at once and introduce greater variety and combinations of foes.
He needs to make more dangerous patterns and build more/better groups with a greater variety of attack pattern combinations. I'm sure he's trying to avoid "undodgeable" attacks since most of his shit is RNG based.

I'm in total agreement, that's why her relationship with Lancer was my favourite part. I hated Susie up until then. Part of it was because I was meant to, another part was that I'm just bored with the "tough girl so bad that even the guys fear her" archetype. It was around Lancer that that started changing, and I started realising how well executed she was.
Most of Toby's characters are static characters that have thorough characterisation. We're only one chapter in, but I think Susie might be the first to have an actual arc.

There is no connecting factor. No on-off switch that the character decides to flip. When the presence of a soul is the deciding factor, then he's not really in control of whether or not something gets through to him. Hence, it's hard to call it one gradually developing character instead of a Jekyll/Hyde sort of schism.

There's moments though, like when you don't attack him during the neutral path at the end of the omega fight and during the end of the genocide route where some of Asriel shows through. He isn't fully gone, not even after the hell that he went through.
The soul was only the straw that broke his back.
Funny enough, the story of Flowey that was told through a text dump which I still can't fucking stand about undertale and I can think of a billion better ways to do it had more of an emotional impact on me than that moment, however, I can't deny how shit it was handled in Undertale and how masterful it was handled in Delta Rune.

That's because he still can't feel without a soul, his personality are all still there, but when the game ends, it all goes back to him.
He can't return to his form as Asriel, he's destined to be an unfeeling flower and he doesn't want to hurt those he hurt before, even though he is 100% Asriel again aside from being able to feel love and compassion.

It could have been a lot less linear and you could have found out more info through sidequests, there could have been collectable items that tell his story, or even items that you can level up that change up your gameplay that reveal more and more of his story.
There could have been more of Flowey actually interacting with you rather than just sans over and fucking over and fucking over again pulling the same shit flowey could.
Shit, you could even have the info given out in character dialogue in battles.
I think, though, the video library in true lab did a fairly decent job at trying to communicate the information, but it's completely moot because there's just a bunch of plaques on the wall which provide another fucking infodump, that was a wasted opportunity to have items that you can collect that tell you what happened in the true lab.
He has the right idea with Delta Rune at least, it's a shame he didn't fucking think of actually using the most important character in the entire fucking game for anything other than two boss fights and a bit of dialogue at the start of the game.

Arms need to have a better proportion in comparison to the torso. Aside from that the fact that you got it done at all as a amateur is a sign that you can easily improve on this.
For you I'd reckon you should check out /loomis/ or an art book and go from there.
Your weak points are arms, hands, neck and face.
I also recommend that you do speed pose drawing and taking a model and just drawing it out to get a feel for drawing in general, and to keep doing it.
Another thing to keep in mind that just because it's not perfect to YOU, doesn't mean other people won't fucking worship your goddamned feet for your work. You have to learn to let go of what other people think in order to make your best work. Oh, and try to avoid "Symbol" drawing, like what you did with the eyes. It's a way you can get stuck on faces and even hands. Basically, go look at someone's face and see it as a bunch of lines to draw, to get the curves correctly, and draw it. You don't need to trace, but in your work you WILL use references of models to get the right shape for stuff that's hard to keep in your head and later you won't need them.
Cutting corners is fine as long as it doesn't look like shit, remember that.

Devolver just seems like a company who saw a huge niche in indie titles not hitting the mainstream, so they're sponsoring indies and former flash games left and right to build up their company as a force to be reckoned with in the gaming industry.
If I wanted to attack the gaming industry as it is now, I'd do the same shit, get well liked indie games that don't have the funding or people to make sequels and then fund them. It's what the industry did back in the day and it reminds me of the old music industry wild west of "if you have a band and you have a decent turnout, you make money, wanna make even more AND for us?" Without actually giving a shit about the actual content, just putting more out there for the cash.
Essentially it's an old practice that makes a shit-ton of money, requires that the upcoming company doesn't care about politics and just lets the developers run wild for cash. It's how the game industry worked back in the day during the wild west period when no one knew what the fuck they were, but "they made money so who cares?".
That might be why they're called Devolver in the first place, they're using old business strategies from that "wild west" period in the first place, "Devolve" and "Revolver". And from what it seems like is it's working.
From what I can see they have the potential to be cancer, but only when they're on top of everyone else, because honestly it's a cycle in any industry. But what they bring is legitimate competition to the AAA industry. So after they actually make some cash the whole industry could try to copy them since the bad companies are going to inevitably fail at some point.
It COULD bring back the old wild west attitude to a certain extent, which is a damned good thing. Or it could fail and be worse. We just have to wait and see. And be wary of what you hear once they start hitting the big time, they will inevitably be attacked when they start making waves.

A lot of artists cover up their weak points by lowering the definition in the places where they suck at it. It's way there's so many furries, the human face is harder to draw and claws from a fantasy creature have no reference point. It's why they copied Disney so much, because animating human figures was hard, so they stylized it into whatever this is.
They DO use symbols, but it's because they're animating. You need to learn realism, because from there, you can do literally anything.

If you learn realism, it'll let you draw in any style. First comes realism, then comes impressionism, then comes abstract and so on.
Learn as much as you can about everything you can. But never start with porn. It latches on to you. It doesn't seem important now, or might even seem silly, but please keep this in mind, that shit is an abyss.

I get you loud and clear, actually. Most important to this is the scene where, if you open up the game after a True Pacifist run, Asriel appears. He's in Flowey's body, but it's clearly Asriel talking. Since this scene is there even after years of you finishing, we can assume that he holds up safely.

Firstly, draw boxes. http://drawabox.com/ Get the boring fundamentals down. Draw cubes, ellipses and spheres 'till you can't stand it anymore, then draw some more. Learn about perspective, composition, line weight, all that jazz. Draw fun stuff like fan art in between to renew your will to live, and then draw more boxes and shit.
Secondly, read "The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation" by Ollie Johnston and Frank Thomas. Take notes.
The single best piece of advice from that book? Get a very fine pen and a sketchbook, and force yourself to draw everything you see, using nothing but that pen. Take this sketchbook with you everywhere. Draw difficult stuff. Draw stuff you think you have no chance of drawing well. Don't worry what it ends up like. I don't care if you crumple all the drawings up and throw them into a furnace; they're going to be crap. Accept this. Feel the determination burning and try again.
Just keep at it 'till you've drawn tens of thousands of drawings. Don't beat yourself up; ust power through. The important thing is that you remain determined.
Now I wish you could teach me how to be confident enough to post OC. I can't even do it anonymously.

Always keep at least two. Maybe more, sketchbooks aren't expensive. If you only keep one, you might run into a streak of good images or a theme and don't want to soil it with a speculative, risky or unfitting image.
So either keep one for "the good stuff" and consider everything else completely non-committal practice media you know, like a sketchbook, or just draw some intermittent garbage all over the place to make it less pristine. Then the damage will already be done, it'll be broken in and completely ruined, perfect for sketching.
