Tell me about supersam, why did he wear the mask?
d1a29a No.15684913
There's a case building in A1 right now, we need some players.

Supersam was a case of someone being so genuinely autistic that it wrapped back around to being kind of awesome. Unfortunately he also had a habit of popping up for cases with folks that really weren't ready for his brand of humor and he decided to pack up and go elsewhere. Avast ye, Super Dhurke. In other news, casing's been fun, I've got a lot of writing to do, and I sometimes look back at collections of moments from cases and laugh at them almost as hard as when I originally saw them.
What would y'all say to having more non-standard case types getting put up more often, like the Investigations, Class Trials, and LA Noire-style detective cases?

AOV actually has a dedicated board, though it's a bit slow.

Stenoes who speak IC during the case. Honestly, it's my biggest pet peeve.

Do you guys want me to do Friday Night Cases again?
It was so low involvement that on the nights that I didn't participate I just left the stream running and went and played video games or went out.
I really onyl mind streaming them between manias

So how does case-building work? I was thinking of building one, but apparently many cases are improvised?
2728e3 No.15695680
>>15695649
There's two kinds of cases, ones that are pre-built and ones that aren't. The pre-built ones is as it says on the tin, built by one guy who makes the evidence and writes the profiles.
Sometimes the guy who builds the doc plays all the witnesses and the detective for more cohesion.
The more common way however is dropping an empty doc in an area and just brainstorming with other players. Some really good cases have come out of this method. In short, there's no wrong way to build a case. You can even make your own doc if you want. But there's already some snazzy ones to choose from.

I played this game exactly once as a support for defense.
I got my shit kicked in because the main defender went AFK and the prosecution was full of veterans.
Is this shit worth playing? I really like the concept.
85b2af No.15707878
>>15707771
Yeah. If you don't like the more competitive parts of the game, you can always play a role like judge or witness
31fd82 No.15709521
>>15707771
Yeah, it sucks when that happens. There's nothing worse than having no idea what you're doing on a bench. Being judge is pretty relaxing in that sense since you're not expected to asspull.
It's worth carrying on with, but my problem is the cases aren't consistently good. That can't really be helped given that each case will have different people playing different roles as different characters. But when you get a really good case, you'll be striving to keep them coming.

We should just have an online album of the top screencaps or something. It'd be a good way to attract newfags, too.
f55a6c No.15717651
What i don't fully understand as i have never played it yet is how does the case info is showed. Does every part (accuser, defendant, witness, judge, etc) has facts to start with, as a DnD character sheet, or does everybody just make shit up as the round begins and see what happens?
85b2af No.15717772
>>15717651
For normal cases, everyone starts with the same basic facts on a public google document, and they just make shit up from there. There's stuff like class trials where all the characters are given accounts with specific information, but those are less common
85b2af No.15724062
So, what do you think of True Improvs?
b30a78 No.15729303
>>15724062
They're a little restrictive, and tend to fail more than they succeed. Every time I've seen one ran there's always been an amendment to the rules after.
But I think when one is successful it's usually pretty good. So just like a normal case it's down to the players.
